    Graham,
I am a retired high school teacher. I taught Math, Physics, and Computer Science. At one time I had thoughts of entering the medical field and follow in my Dad’s footsteps. My Dad was raised on a farm in north western Pennsylvania. When I saw your video’s the first time, I had no idea of the importance of your work. It is extremely fascinating to me. Watching you expose problems often causes me to feel sorry for the animal. I am so glad that they have you to help them. Great work! Rod

I used to work with cattle(both beef and dairy) back when I lived in Australia. I never even knew hoof trimming was a thing! We had vets out occassionally but the cattle were always outside so it was more likely for them to cut themselves on barbed wire or get bit by a snake than to have hoof issues.
Been enjoying these videos for a while but finally hit the subscribe button when I saw that you saved Fiona the lonely sheep! Well done for all the education and good you do!

Love your hard, "in the zone" work, your sense of humor, your teamwork, your love of the cows & bulls, & gratitude for farmers who go the extra mile (99.9% of them if not all especially the organic farmers whom I truly appreciate) to be sure the comfort of their cows & bulls is paramount (eg, the rubber floors & giving them time in the green pastures when rains not an issue), & the company that creates innovative means/products for the animals to lay down, etc. Just adore you Graeme.

I really like these “can you spot the problem” videos, I hope you do more. Hopefully you’re editing in a way that means the cow isn’t in the crush that whole time.
I paused at 3:07. For my guess? I think the top inner(?) hoof has some sort of cut or infection. And I’m flat-out guessing the pocking is a symptom of dermatitis eating holes inside the hoof.

Was thinking there was a white line issue, but noticed that wasn't the case, then noticed the little growth about a minute before you mentioned it, then once you started wiggling it I could really see it. Never trimmed cows hooves before, but I have done some horses hooves while working on a ranch and have shoed a few horses, seen similar growths in the bottom of a palomino's hoof once while trimming and putting new shoes on her.

I was going to say an ulcer
    Glad you can help her.
Is the growth like a fatty lump?
    Vet needs to cut it

3:22 I want to guess there is a problem on inside claw toward the top but I feel like it’s often a white line problem. I am not a hoof trimmer but I do enjoy watching these videos

I love how the cows are always so calm when you’re picking at the exact areas they don’t want picked at. Such sweet animals. But one question: why not just have a vet come and remove the growth to prevent future problems?

Okay, I'll play. Corkscrew claw, perhaps? There's an overgrowth at the toe that kind of curls in, and I'm not sure about that heel bulb on the left. I'd need you to poke at it to tell if there's a line of detachedness at the periopal horn.
