Troubleshooting Air Pump Failure

    Interesting! I wonder if you leave it on for a long time, if the fuse is suitable to protect the motor before it starts a fire. It seems suspect to me that the motor has a turn-to-turn short before the fuse opens; I think the fuse should be a lower value. However, maybe the windings are sufficiently small in the motor that the windings will open before any fire occurs. It is “attended use” and has a air gap switch, so I don’t think that would be “unsafe” per se, but it might be a fun “torture test.” What if you increase the limit to 11A so it wouldn’t trip the fuse (and, then you can make “this one go to 11”)? Nice breakdown!
