Another underrated pie shop is Kiwi Pies in Dandenong. Award-winning little shop, run by a Vietnanese woman ❤. Steak and cheese is my go-to; I dream about that pie now and then 😋. Back in the day, after 1000 steps, we'd go to Pie in the Sky in Mt Dandenong - don't know if it's still there or if it's still award-winning
100% the most underrated pie shop in Melbourne!!! The pastry and stewed meat are next level. Dandenong is the most underrated food area in Melbourne. Gladysdale is a great family business and has solid pies. They do great breakfast and sandwiches are off the charts.
Head on down to the Vietnamese Bakery in Donnybrook (north end of town as there are 2 in town). Best pies in Australia in my opinion and I am well travelled. Full of chunky meat and tons of flavour.
What's with the cutlery ? I think you should always taste the pies without sauce to start, getting the taste.THEN add sauce if you feel it needs it. Sausage rolls are a different beast........smother in sauce & get stuck in !
@LocalEaters The expression is actually "Jesus, Mary and Joseph" (Joseph being Mary's husband), but you may as well throw Moses in there mate, because the size of that pie at the second joint was just mammoth. I might need to have a go at that 'little' beauty myself, cobber!
I'm always distracted by how good the pie is and I forget about the sauce. But you're right, the first lot of pies I was thinking about the sauce because after the first bite I knew the taste was missing something.
@@LocalEaters yeah, I know people who claim to LOVE pies but the I stant they get it they drown them in sauce. It's like getting a wagu steak and drowning it in sauce ahhhhh
wp ... those pies look amazing
Yes definitely one of the best I've had
You need to visit a small catering place in Wendouree (Ballarat) called Harold 29 for the BEST peat pies. OMG they have huge chunks of meat in them.
That sounds like it's worth the trip!
Never fail to get a bloody kiwi or 50 blowing their trumpet.
😂😂😂
@ross4970 it's because we know we're the pie gods of this earth and one thing Australia can't steal from us lol.
Loving the videos mate. What camera you using? Congratulations on the 1000 subscribers 🎉.
Thankyou for tuning in 🙏
I'm using the Sony A6700 with Sigma 16mm f1.4

So many good places to check out. Dandenong has heaps of good food too.

There is an Adelaide shop that has Pho meat pies, which are actually pretty good.
Liang ❤ good to see your out here enjoying life brother. Much love from Doni
Doni!!! Hope you're well 🙏
Nice review mate.
Thankyou 🙏
Cobb bakery in Springvale, Bayswater and Kyneton
I'll have to check it out!
Go to Tony Ale Fruit & Vegetable Market is Cockburn WA, you won't get a chunkier beef pie than the ones they sell there.
Yes I will have to make my way across to WA one day.

Ooo yes definitely, the search continues! Thanks for the recommendation.
Where's the concrete mixer sound coming from?
I think there were some road work personal there at the time too
Great video! Makes me want to drive out there and smash one today 😂
Thankyou sir 🙏

I tend to use cutlery if it's there haha. Yeah that last pie was so good it didn't need it. I've got to do a sausage roll episode.
Looks good, but NZ is the masterclass of meat pies.
I'll have to try them!
@@LocalEaters Kiwi Pie in Noble Park is worth a go. Steak and onion has a darker, more runny gravy compared to Aussie pies.
😂😂😂
Yes Kiwi Pies Bakery, Noble Park. You won't be disappointed.
Pies need to be scalding hot as you said. Great review onto the next
Yeah what a difference it makes! Thanks for watching 🙏
Pretty much just a stock standard pie if it was in New Zealand 😂
Haha I'll have to come to NZ one day!
@@LocalEaters 💯 bro, only a short flight and the food diversity is a bit more than Australia, you’lol love it.
Stay where you are i would suggest!
@@melbournestackerBro , I’ll be in Auckland for 1 day later this year , where to head for the best pie in Auckland CBD ?
@@RodSwansmaddoesnt matter does it because apparently this is stock standard all over NZ
thank you for sharing! new sub
Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
call it a "faraway eats" lol
stay well!
Haha this one is pretty far for a lot of us, but worth the visit.
They SOUND ok.
The search continues!
I'm a no tomato sauce meat pie person...lol...
To be honest if a pie is that good you don't need it at all!
That was so chunky!
T'was!
The pies at Warburton Bakery were sooo good! Such a pretty place to visit!
Yes life changing, that Stockman pie!
The pies at Warburton Bakery were delicious!! 🤤
So good!
Jesus 😲😲😲

4 people are the best to try out 8-10 pies....
I know right! Need to have a crew.
If it needs sauce it's not a good pie. Makes me cry when I see people sauce a pie without even trying it first.

That's a good way to put it haha
Doesn't even know what a pastye is. Would have been better with tradies. Don't look like pie professionals
Ok
