    What was your favorite change from the book to season 1? 🤓

    • @mokarokas-1727
      @mokarokas-1727 10 дней назад +3

      Not getting into plot elements because who has the time, but my favorite change is probably the aging up of characters - significantly reducing the yikes. Also a better balance between the number of named characters and "screen time".

      @@mokarokas-1727 Great point. They did a really good job of combining characters and events to make the show more condensed without losing story beats :)

      for me its either bron kocking the guy through the moondoor (in the book he beats him dishourably but not as cool) or the fight between jamie and ned, in the book ned is flung from his horse.

    I wish the show kept Dany’s dragon dreams. I feel like they missed out on a lot of cool Easter eggs and book references by removing them.
    My favorite change from the books is all of the conversations that “never took place”. Like Tywin with Arya. Littlefinger and Varys speaking in the throne room. Those conversations were amazing and added some great depth to each character.

    I have several gripes my biggest was "the show just ran put of material"
    Which os absolutely not true if you consider how much of feast and dance they just dont even choose to adapt.
    But i think my biggest gripe is all the Starks nkt being wargs. It was such a huge plot in the story to omit and if you want to paint that more broadly. Leaving put 80% of the magic system really hampered the show.
    And my biggest take away is that if there is ever a reboot the show should be animated instead of live action.

    • @CultureVultureMedia1

    I thought it would be per episode, showing the changes as the story/show goes, but that was very informative.
    I miss the dialogues of first seasons, there was so many cool and memorable moments (it's crazy to think that it was made by the same dudes that ruined the show). Ned, Cercei and Tyrion owned the whole thing, 19:00 that was me every time they where on screen.
    I also wish the hella-long-ago-promised sixth book was released already, so I could read it all again.

    • @CultureVultureMedia1
      @CultureVultureMedia1  9 дней назад +1

      I suspect the remaining books are being held back to retain engagement generated through speculation. Once the books are finished, we can’t speculate about the ending anymore. What do you think about that?

    • @amanitawn
      @amanitawn 8 дней назад +1

      @@CultureVultureMedia1 Sometimes I wonder if the books are even finished, because if they were, wouldn't Martin at least hint the showrunners about how to end it properly?
      Or maybe he doesn't know how to finish it and now he just rather spend his time with ANYTHING ELSE, like the gossips of westeros and its prequels/sequels/wtv. :')

      @@CultureVultureMedia1that is possible. I think us hardcore fans will buy it whenever it comes out no matter when it comes but I think many more casual fans would have bought it within the first year of the show ended I think many of them have moved on. I mean think about how many people were talking about during and right after the show ended a lot of that has died off. Just my humble opinion I think a lot of us like to think he's a genius that has a master plan but most likely he's just stuck and can't finish it in a way that's satisfies him. But who knows honestly. Best wishes always.

    16:44 the one part about the war stories scene that is wrong is Robert first kill was that the battle of summer hall against a Tarly boy, this is wrong for a couple reasons. First Robert first kill would have been at the taking of gull town in the vale as Robert killed lord grafton,second summer hall was the battle that unified the storm lands so why was a Tarly solider there as they are from the reach. And only road out after Robert won the battles of summer hall.

    The shadows are said to be behind Arya and Sansa iirc (i read the french version and it gives precision that the shadows are behind both of them).
    So the Hound behind Arya make sense, the golden armored being Jaime doesn't and is actually Joeffrey and is described as having golden hair, since he is the one to torment Sansa.
    Another theory i have is that the giant stone armored could be Ned.
    " but when he opened his visor, there was nothing inside but darkness and thick black blood."
    It does make sense being The mountain with what happened to him (it is a crazy foreshadow that happens several books later as well) but what if it was a foreshadow of Ned losing his head later in the book ?
    Excellent video btw, can't wait for the next ones !

    • @mokarokas-1727
      @mokarokas-1727 10 дней назад +1

      That's kind of a difficult premise, because Fire and Blood is written like a succinct history book with most details unknown or presented with several conflicting accounts. Most scene comparisons would be summarized with "we don't know if this is how it went down in the book". =') When it was given the Game of Thrones treatment, they kind of went the middle path with everything so far. There are also a couple of changes that affects EVERYTHING, such as the relation and dynamic between Rhaenyra and Alicent who have quite the age gap in the book. So with either really broad changes or just settling on details that are otherwise unknown, a comparison might end up just being a book plot summary...

    • @CultureVultureMedia1
      @CultureVultureMedia1  10 дней назад

      Absolutely. It would almost make more sense to speak of the parts where the show did exactly what's in the book, seeing as most of the show is filling in the blanks.
      With that said, I could make a lengthy video about how they ruined Blood & Cheese x)
