+James Langley It sounds like your board doesn't have enough flotation for your weight. The width of the board is important for stability. You should go for boards that are at least 32" wide. A good beginner board for your weight should be like 12' x 34" to provide ample floatation. Once you get better you can go with narrower boards.
After kayaking in the Newport Back Bay the past few months, I got my first paddle board last week. This video helped immensely so thank you!. I also decided to jump in the water and get wet so I didn't have that on my mind. First time I did it myself....second time I fell in not of my free will and went all the way under...lol.....fun experience even though a bit humbling...Can't wait to go again and get better!
Getting back on an inflatable board is really difficult from the side in deep water because they are so buoyant, I have to go to the back of it to get on, worth trying in safe water before going to sea! Wear lifejacket, anything can happen at sea!
Do you have any suggestions for my husband who has a fused ankle and can't stand with feet parallel without pain..can one foot be in front of the other? He is a surfer so has pretty good balance. I am guessing that practice and experimenting will be the best. Just wondered what you thought. Thanks. M
Im 14. I love surfing. Surfing is my life and I have been surfing since I can remember. About a year ago SUPs started showing up at my home break. Now I am one of a couple surfers in the line up. There are maybe 10 SUP to one surfer. It is rare for me to get a wave in a session. I know u have good intentions and you expect SUPs to be respectful of surfers. But they are not! They take every wave and never leave any. u are encouraging these people. This is ruining my life and ruining surfing.
excellent tutorial video ! No effects, no unneccesary gimmicks, great job guys!
That was pretty slick hopping on at the end.
