Australia here....bought an Ecoflow River Max 600W unit in 2021 (~$1200AUD) and returned the unit within 2 weeks.....horrible energy loss running via the AC output......I was getting ~55% of claimed manufacture claimed output (~580Wh). I have nothing good to say about these units or the retailer (Anaconda) ....expensive units in hindsight. I ended up buying a 'battery box' (i.e. pre-built, fit-for-purpose, hard cased box with 1200 inverter, multiple 12V outputs ands USB, including a 175W Anderson connection) and a 100Ah LifePo4 lithium battery....all up it was $400 less compared to the Ecoflow and at nearly twice the output. Beast of a unit.

I build my own. That’s what is a bit of a worry about the new vehicles, and we have one. The more features, the more that can break. The more components you add to a circuit board, the more components that can break. My home built Lithium/solar powered generators are simple, and there isn’t much to break, and are easy to troubleshoot.

Really apricate all your experiments! Realy helps us . When and if your refrigerator crashes get a whirlpool 20.5 cubic feet around $700/8 hundred the real energy use is littirly 1/10 of your current refrigerator! Unbelievable and its the non energy star whirlpool. I know because i went through a few new refrigerators on my inverter. My new whirlpool uses .8 amps with a compresser run every 2to5 hours for 5 minutes. The auto defrost is 1.8 amps for 10 minutes. Unbelievable! No icemaker no water maker. U can atach a ice maker but i need no such frills. Energy star frige like what you have uses at least 10x then a whirlpool 20cf

Hum, my guess would be a bad BMS board. But I am wondering IF the A/C output from the inverter to charge the battery is seeing some square wave (ripple) and it does NOT like it? Maybe when you sunshine comes back, try using your victron system and LIMIT the charge to say 5 amps to get it fully charged again and then do a full discharge to say down to 10%. In the meantime, I think a RMA is in order since you should NOT have to diagnose a new unit. Thanks for the content. Gary

Don't have a River Max, but I do have a Delta 2 with extra battery. Have been struggling with the unit since the day I bought it. Returned the first one. Second one was better - at least it charged! Now, solar from my panels only charges at 82 watts rather than 300 watts the panels are putting out. AC charging is okay. DC charging from a cigarette lighter/battery is at 90 watts. It's a slick-looking boat anchor. Unfortunately, I'm out $1,200. :(

Did you check for firmware updates in the App? Other than that I would do a full discharge until auto cut-off, and see what happens. Some powerstations SOC are not accurate at all, the first few cycles. (BTW the USB-C Im pretty sure is PD port suporting 60W - some brands support even 100W. But you need a PD charger).
That blinking fan-icon while unit is idle, is a quite wierd... Looks like it only starts flashing after it has done a attempt to charge. You looked at the fan - do you ever hear it run? Maybe the unit is protecting itself because the fan is not working properly. And maybe it is programmed to only kick on on when (hot ofcourse) but also when charging above100W (AC or DC 12V - 10A = 120W) and could be the reason why only USB-C below 20 W is actually working.

@@edwardlulofs444 There is absolutely no problem running a unit like that to 0%. The BMS will protect the battery, if it does not, then the unit has a fault in the BMS. These unit CAN be run down to 0% with no issues. I think your input voltage is not stable... You'll see what error is happening in Ecoflow app .. mine had same problem and it was due to my grid voltage is not stable after storm hit transformer going into my house.. I tried to charge in my neighborhood house and it work well .. after my house transformer got fixed , the problem was solved.

That's very interesting, and I actually will be putting out a follow up video on these units in the next few day's. I never could figure out through the app anything to follow up on. Mahalo for sharing this, and being part of the conversation. Aloha! 🤙

My River 2 Pro stopped charging through the 12V DC connection after two weeks. I could still chrage it with AC. They sent me a new power plug-cord and that fixed the problem. The new one didn't have the little gold thing between the connectors on the XT60 side.

Those reliable inverters dont play well with chargers, i would try with a generator before blaming it. My money is on that cheaper inverter.

"What is wrong?" far to expensive for what it is ,a faulty bms makes it scrap.
the USB C will be on a separate low power circuit so still operates probably... its toast, put it in the bin.
