You're a life saver! Wiper stopped working in the middle of a rainstorm. Got it home...followed you step by step....and we are back in business. Which is good because it's supposed to rain for another week. Thank you!
What's better than a vehcor boring build Friday video? A vehcor Tuesday repair video.Good info about that wiper recall. I'll keep that info in my database.
I had an engineer from an unnamed manufacturer say they switched to plastic ball cups for when idiots try and scrape ice off thier windshield. But they are of course frozen in place and the motor binding the transmission breaks more stuff than the plastic cup.
Old wiper assemblies had metal bushes and clips. They lasted the life of the vehicle. Here we have another case of the good stuff being replaced by plastic, which is slowly taking over vehicle parts. Next thing, the entire vehicle (other than mechanical parts) will be plastic, probably 3D printed on a giant 3D printer.
Much like the TSB for my headlight relay on my 2006 TBSS - my time is worth more than $30 and an awesome experience at the dealer - I'll just swap it out myself.
So glad I was sitting down when you cleared those leaves off. Shocks like that aren't good for someone my age. 🥴 *Thank You* for the video Scott. Excellent as always. 👍
My wife had that Wiper fracture happen during a heavy downpour, she was going 60mph on an interstate. Scary stuff. had it fixed before we finally got the recall notice for it.
Yeah, the retaining nut fell off mine, at 1 in the morning while it was raining. Thank goodness for late night truck stops with lots of overhang and very little business that time of day
If you send me the same car to fix the same issue I would start by taking the back seat out. Do not ask me why since I have no idea of how to repair cars. Nice video Scott. 👍
When it comes to GM and recalls they are actually pretty good. My mother-in-law had a 2000 Grand Am, she got a recall notice in I think 2018, but the car was scrapped in 2017 after the engine blew up with over 500,000 km on it, but even though the 3.8 was blown and knocking it still ran.
That was a good little project to show your viewers.repeat customer never can tell when they might want to get another car.good video.keep it up 👍👍👍😎😎😎
So, doing a little house cleaning around my desk today and what do I find? A recall notice for my 2015 Equinox for ball joint defect in the wiper module that" could result in the separation of one or more ball joints from their sockets during wiper operation." Like their air bag recalls there's no parts at this time for the fix.
How often you get to repair or even see your old builds? With the ammount and quality you do, I'd assume you see them quite often for small fixes as some buyers might be returning customers?
Please tell us how can we compensate for 20 or 30 degrees temp. fluctuation, they say cold, then tire temp. Increases thru out the day,as much as 30 f, what do we do/ set at ??? Thank you enjoy the tips but most of all the comments u ad.
I was part of the big G-body recall back in the late 80s early 90s…. Rear backing plates were the culprits….. all you had to do was set up an appointment, show up with a new set of rear shoes and General Motors did the rest🎉…. Too bad they didn’t recall the rear frame rails and body mounts…
That was sure some rubbish body repair work. If I was the customer I wouldn't have accepted a job like that. Kind of gets the trade a bad name. Great content as always, thanks for sharing 👍

Nice to see a surprise Vehcor video on a Tuesday. Maybe you were running low on hater's tears and needed to replenish? What happened to Mr. Spotty? Did you "accidentally" weld him in between 2 body panels? Just wondering.
In the interest of high quality work, the valve stem should have been changed as well. They are cheap insurance against a leaky valve stem and the whole assembly can be screwed together and pulled into place eliminating the chance of dropping the tiny screw in the tire. We also use small bolt cutters to cut off the sensor before pulling out the old stem. No lost T10 bits in Narnia that way.
Some viewers watch you tube videos to help them sleep but clean freaks watch Scott in order NOT to sleep. Very interesting. That bondo fix is abhorrent.
I am barely a diy'er so I do what I can and usually takes me twice as long and I waste a good bit of money. I had the same wiper issue on my wife's 2016 Equinox LTZ. I went to the dealer, explained the issue and purchased the $150 wiper assembly. They never mentioned a recall but the car is fixed. 200,000 miles and still going.
How many vehicle manufacturer do you know that are waiting for parts these days? Try getting parts for a Ford dodge Nissan Toyota Kenworth trucks peterbuilt trucks frieghterliner and so on. It's not only one company its all of them.
I wish my tpms light were that easy to fix. no pressures, no key fob function. replaced and programmed the RCDLR and BCM, and found a corroded wire. still won't work.
Didn't last long being pretty! Now she's a full on battle cruiser! Could of brought it to the shop that did the door repair... they could of fixed those pesky wipers with a coat hanger! 😂 Scott, if my vehicle looked like that after a repair, I would not accept the repair. Is there an easy way for a consumer to determine if a shop does good work other than looking at the vehicles in the shop they've worked on? I've not had much body work thankfully, but what I have had isn't great. I feel like it's customer beware.
Those doors are nasty. Metric (non-freedom)🙂 fasteners are generally referred to by thread diameter, rather than head size. 10mm head is generally an M6. Good video and sarcasm as usual ☺️👍

Did the same on my 06 Envoy Denali a couple years ago. Stupid easy, and should last another 15 years when this one dies again.

About 50% of my buyers become regular customers. The number has gone down since I sell cars nationwide now.

How long do TPMS sensors last? My car is 18 years old soon to be 19 and I've never had to replace any of them.

The TMPS system on that car is a little more informative than the Mini Cooper. It will only tell you the pressures if you are moving.
