my brother was in the Met Police when the shot of the gates exploding was being filmed. the explosion was so loud it was thought to be an IRA bomb and my brother and colleagues were sent to the scene only to be confronted by Daleks and not terrorists.

    • @crimsondynamo615

Matthew Duncan imagine the body horror of seeing heavily damaged Cybermen with what’s under the armor being shown. Or like a real horror moment where a Mondas cyberman gets the cloth ripped off by a companion and you see either a skull or the skin stretched over a metal skull. Now that episode would be great horror.

One of the French teachers where I went to high school was an ex-policeman who supervised part of the Remembrance shoot.
He has a distinct memory of watching three daleks coming down a ramp (possibly leaving the shuttle) and the third one came down so quickly it fell over forwards.
Funny to watch, but probably not fun for the operator.

I remember at the 50th Anniversary Convention, Sylvester McCoy told a story about the massive explosion from the Special Weapons Dalek. When the gate exploded, it triggered a lot of alarms across the area (Which I believe can be heard in the behind the scenes footage), to which people contacted the police because of the disturbance. So then, a policeman (I think it was a policeman) arrived to the scene, and all he saw were Daleks emerging from a yard of debris.
It's so hilarious, because it's not everyday a policeman is informed of an explosion occurring and when cropping up to the scene of the crime finds a group of Daleks slowly revealing themselves. I can only imagine how the police officer reacted or even looked like at that moment. XD

I was on the studio floor during rehearsals for episode 2 or 3… I can’t recall which it was now. The school corridor set was raised quite high off the ground, as I remember it, and we sneaked a peek under a black cloth to see what was underneath. It turned out to be the Dalek chair for the little girl.
JNT has us booted out and in retrospect it was a surprise that we got in at all. We simply signed in at the main reception at TV Centre and walked into the studio. I shan’t name my co-conspirator but we got lucky that day for sure.

Really fantastic Red/Blue Dalek designs! Always wondered how that would have turned out. But I am happy they went for the Ivory/Grey design, it helps the story fit in with the continuity of Revelation. Interesting video. Remembrance Of The Daleks was one of the first series by the BBC to be produced in stereo and broadcast in NICAM Stereo, but in London & the South-East region only from the Crystal Palace transmitter. Obviously, you'd had to have had NICAM decoding equipment to receive it in digital stereo, which not many people had in 1988.

Love the work as usual, if you cover this story more I actually have a few facts that I got when I met terry Molloy, such as he disliked this production, IE he said he should have voiced the battle computer to throw people off, and that he was brought in for only one day of work, and that he was nearly replaced because they were uncertain as to weather even bringing him back for such small work would be a good idea

    • @Dalek6388

Dalek 63•88 from when I talked to him (it was like a half an hour interview, cause I was early to the con) he didn’t seem to indicate that Davros was a late inclusion he was under the impression that every Dalek Story was to feature Davros and when he did receive the script he was upset and disappointed by his minor role when he said even through voice work it would have enhanced the story because Episode 3 you see his credit on one thing and then the anagram credit on the Dalek emperor it would have been a great misdirection and he said he put forward his services to play Davros again in 2008 but they turned him down from what I can tell quite harshly as they wanted a new direction

Daniel Pullella he feels the same cause Davros is a unique singular character when big finish wish to use him they have to clear it with the BBC so as there's no conflict of canon, and that's why Molloy hasn't played the role in a while because whenever Davros appears on screen Big Finish can't use him for a set time, Molloy who yes is the best Davros for his scope and range, feels upset by this because he loved playing the role, but he feels that whenever he might get a chance to reprise the role he gets done over by the BBC using the character, also he strangely remembered playing Russel but couldn't remember which story that was funny cause he and Colin baker were laughing at that when I met both of them

That was really interesting, the only thing I think it's a shame we lost through these changes was the clarity of where the destruction of the black and silver dalek took place, the fact that it's right outside the warehouse adds a little extra to that scene rather than it just looking like he's chilling in some random street. And weirdly I was sure we had seen the SWD coming out of the ship, I guess that's just my memory adding details in that weren't really there.
