- In this video we will be using Alias Autostudio 2020. You can also use Alias Surface for this workflow.
This series is to help you guys see what goes on when I make a car exterior inside a design studio. How I take the sketches and the engineering data and I merge it into one cohesive model. For this project we will be using Hanbin's BMW DTM design, his photoshop tutorial can be found here

My Alias preference set can be found here

Thank you for another great part. I guess everyone appreciates your tutorials. Keep going!
very nice seing your workflow man! thanks for sharing
thank you!.. I like this kind of tutorial, a speed up video with explanation.
Another amazing video. We’ll done, sir. Thank you! 💯👍
These tutorials are wonderful, thank you so much for making them!
very cool mate
Finally got this video! Great thx!
Thanks for another great share!
super cool...Thanks alot for knowledge sharing. Karma +100 to you, sir
Awsome video! Thank you
killer dude!
Excellent as always, thank you so much.
God richly bless you
the method used in this series can be applied in the field?
ofcourse, this is how I have done exteriors for many companies.
@@HandleBar3D cool. thanks for sharing.
😂👌🏼
Thank you!!
Lol as an automotive designer myself I interpret that sketch completely differently in the area where the side surface meets the glass
hi i have got your alias preference set, that is great!! Can I ask where is surface invisible and visible function
? thank you so much !
I can tell you on the menu bar where, Its under * Object display *. But u probably asked about the hotkeys!
Nice ! Another well explained tutorial, I have a question though, unrelated to surfacing, how do you project images into surfaces like you did here for the rims ?
Charly Poidevin you go to materials, click on color options, choose project, then choose file, locate the wheel image, and then move the texture locator to the right spot and orientation.
@@HandleBar3D thx
Do all surfaces in alias need to have 4 sides, not 3?
Great work! And since you have downloaded alias 2020, can you make a series of subdivision modeling?
惠梓哲 I don’t know when I’ll do that. I’m not a big fan of sub d modeling.
Thank you for your absolutely brilliant tutorials! They’re truly fascinating! Is it possible to use this workflow in Fusion 360? I’m guessing not as I believe there are several tools missing from the cheaper software package. Correct?
Gareth Williams I think the philosophy I teach can be applied to any modeling workflow, physical or digital. Fusion is made more for mechanical design so I don’t even think it would have the capability to get to this level of surface control
How did you do the Mirroring. where you only have to edit one side to influence both
Under the layer bar theirs a symmetry tool to activate
Do you prefer to use trim convert to regular trim?
Rickard Carlsson whenever I can square a surface up using trim convert instead of just trimming I try to
