Great video. I am a beginner with sublimation and seen you can use air fryer. Wow. So excited I have an extra air fryer I had purchased and was going to take it back. So dont have to now. Going to try this. Thank you!
I have watched your video before… I can’t remember if I made a comment on the lines marching up. Trim away the excess paper from the top, insuring that the image placement is where you want it. Wrap the tumbler with it standing on the top the tumbler (upside down). Gently tap the paper and tumbler on the table so the paper is flush even with the edges of the tumbler. That allows you to match up the lines perfectly. Tape the top and the bottom tightly to prevent any gap between the paper and the surface of the tumbler. Tape the bottom and top twice to make sure that it’s tight, which eliminates the chance of ghosting. I learned this technique from watching the Industrial Fringe RUclips channel. Roy is a great resource for proper sublimation techniques on several substrates. Although I am two years after the fact, I hope that you have overcome the issues of ghosting and uneven alignment. Best wishes!!! PS. That color was absolutely 💯 banging!!!! Thanks for sharing!
That was interesting. I sublimated mugs a few years ago and found reducing the image brightness by around 10% before printing applied with a mug press using the recommended settings the finished image came out bright and vivid. A couple of months ago I was researching a plotter cutter and the Cricut was on my list until I realised the print and cut limitations so decided on the Cameo then found people having issues with the 4 so went for a good used 2 its one of the best things I have bought the best thing to do is download the software which is free and play around with it. This will give you a good head start should you decide to purchase a Cameo in the future. Good video another thing one can do with a air fryer !!
You did great on the first go. I think I can do this now. Now I’ve seen some turn theirs halfway through. You let yours stay the full time right? And do you think the shrink wrap is ok in the air fryer?
Folding the sub paper over the bottom or top will push it away from the surface no mater how tight you tape. I must say yours is really taped, it should work.
if u dont have a printer 2 print big images can u somehow split the image to make it bigger than the cup and somehow piece it 2gether2 wrap it. cuz i ordered the epson 2720 and it doesnt print very big.
Hello. I just started and my oven keeps burning my shrink wrap. I have it on 375 in a convection oven and it starts to burn the wrap after like 60 seconds. Help. Please
i am struggling i got a faberware airfryer convection oven and the only setting it lets me do 375 400 is on pizza. i did one after heat gun and shrink wrap and it came out brown on the black. I was told if it comes out brown its too hot. Also my shrink wrap melted and i bought the ones sold from a specific jL something vendor that specializes in it but i doubt they will get back to me. Im going to try it at 6 instead of 7 min and then 375 degrees instead of 400 with a sub. Not going to use heat gun and let the oven shrink wrap. If it comes out bad i will let you know but i need your help because your colors are popping.
Hey. Have you tried using masking tape? If not, try using that and reduce the temp to 375 for 6 minutes. And let the air fryer cool down in between cups. I found that when I do multiple cups, the air fryer holds that heat. and can burn the cups easily.
Cold/cool peel is best because it’s still sublimating while it’s still hot, which means the gases could still float and cause ghost when you peel away the paper. I hope you have gotten the technique down perfectly by now since I’m seeing the video 2 years after she posted it. Also, look for my other comment to her about how to prevent uneven alignment and ghosting. Simply turn the tumbler upside down and tap the paper flush to the table and tightly to the tumbler. Be sure to try to trim away the excess paper from the bottom, only leaving just a tad bit beyond the edge of the bottom of the tumbler. You can also order a PINCH PERFECT from Amazon. Use that to make the paper wrap tightly and close the seem. Remember: The Air Fryer can not be used for cooking food once it’s been used for sublimation. I use an air fryer OVEN with convection technology. Made by Black + Decker. Using an oven allows you to sublimate 3 or more depending on how large the oven is. Best wishes.
Sister, the reason the bottom is lighter than the top is because you used a straight image on a tapered cup. If your image had been tapered like the cup and you'd cut it out to match, then, you would've had the same amount of pressure on the bottom half and the color variants would be the same.
I tried to sublimate a mug in my air fryer and it's pretty difficult to preheat because as soon as you open the door even for a second to put the mug in the temp drops like 20 degrees so then the mug has to be in there for more than 5 minutes just to get it up to the proper max temp then let it go at the right temp for 5 minutes and the mug came out faded! ugh what do I do?! tia :)
I have a regular air fryer where you set the temp once its in there. I would say put it in there for the time you need but rotate it, so it does not burn.
For my air fryer, I have a system. I found that 390 at 7 minutes works best for the cup. Then the 2nd and third cups, 380 for 7 minutes. Let it cool down for about an hour, then repeat those steps. By doing that I haven't burnt any cups. I had to do 50 cups this past Christmas, with that method, no issues.
It turned out cute. Are the fumes real bad when you use the air fryer? I saw another video and the persons smoke detector was going off. There wasn’t any smoke though. Thanks for the video.
360 for 6 minutes works great for me ! Colors are so vibrant
The colors or so bright and pretty and minions are not my thing. This turned out amazing! Well done!!!
Oh. You got a bigger deep fryer. I wouldn't think the tumbler fit. Nice results.
Wonderful
Wow that looks great! I can’t wait to get my tumblers now!
Thanks for testing and sharing!! Love it soOo much its beautiful!!! New subscriber!! Hugs from PA - Christine
This was awesome. Thank you for this video

What size air fryer do you have?
@@meiy09 it's a 7qt. I can fit one 20oz tumbler in or 2 12oz. But 30oz is too big.

Love the color. I would use the straight tumblers....easier I would think. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, I have learned the straight ones are MUCH easier to use.

Pretty
Cool 😊
What size air fryer do you have
You have a tapered tumbler where you have to use the tapered template for it which will align your lines perfectly.
Ahh I’m so scared to try these lol
I was too. But you just have to go for it. You will do fine.
You did great on the first go. I think I can do this now. Now I’ve seen some turn theirs halfway through. You let yours stay the full time right? And do you think the shrink wrap is ok in the air fryer?
Yup, I let it stay in the air fryer the whole time, with no flipping. Yes I have seen others use the shrink wrap
@@CraftingMadeEasy thanks
The difference in colors and lining them up is because of where the paper overlapped. Try cutting off the excess before taping up.
Folding the sub paper over the bottom or top will push it away from the surface no mater how tight you tape. I must say yours is really taped, it should work.

The measurements for the cup are less than a letter sized piece of paper. Your printer doesn't printer letter?
If you print your image landscape you should be able to fit it on an 8*11 sheet
Very nice! what size is your air fryer
It is a 6qt
Hello. I just started and my oven keeps burning my shrink wrap. I have it on 375 in a convection oven and it starts to burn the wrap after like 60 seconds. Help. Please
I don't use the shrink wrap, I just use the tape. But the shrink wrap has to be a specifically for the oven. It can't be the one for making baskets.

Did you put it on bake? Or air fry setting?
I just set the temp and time. My air fryer doesn't have those options.
I'm very new to sublimation. Do you have to peel off the paper when it's hot?
You can let it cool off some.

I have seen ppl say they use regular copy paper and not sublimation paper. Have you tried this?
I've used Regular Lazer paperwork. But is never the same. Colors are not so bright.
I tried this. But my colors didn’t come out as vibrant. I got a vintage tan color
Are you using an air fryer or a convection oven?
@@CraftingMadeEasy air fryer is convection
You probably need to adjust your temps/time, sounds like your ink may be over cooking
