    It depends on how you drive. When I drive with with a light foot I get 18mpg-20mpg easily. If I drive heavy I’ll get 13mpg. Super smooth V8

    Sick and tired of people bashing MPG of the LX and Land Cruiser because it is the only thing they can. The competitors are not better but it is never talked about.

    I can’t get over how my 2017 LX gets about 13-15 mpg around town and then the IS350 gets about 20. Only good mileage I get in my garage is the Super Tenere ES, 40 mpg. All the vehicles need premium, so yay. I enjoy the LX, I got one with all the options including the wireless charger, HUD, and glass breakage sensor. I put in aftermarket CarPlay and Android Auto and I’m super happy with the result.

      Add 18 inch vintage negative offset rims chrome one on that lx and see how good it looks. You will melt just by looking at it with those rims. Practicality plus looks.

    I'm surprised at your mileage. That's what I typically get in my ES (~21 mpg combined). But then, I usually end up driving during rush hour with lots of slow moving traffic.

    I have a 2021 LX570 and I get 22 mpg pretty consistently on the highway. I just made a trip from Texas to Arizona last week to see my lawyers and drove 2200 miles there and back. I got 21 on the way there and 22 on the way back.
    The only thing I wish the LX570 had was the same gas tank as my Tundra which is 38 gallons. I've made this exact trip 2-3 times before and normally take my Tundra since the LX570 is my wife's daily commuter. In my Tundra I can go nearly 650 miles before I need to fill up while in the LX570 I can go only around 440'ish. Typically, I get a wide-mouth water bottle and some burritos, and I can go 7-8 hours straight before I need to fill up and stop with my Tundra. It is why I love driving long distances in it!

      I do the same with my cat. 1200 each way. Have the cooler behind the front passenger seat for easy access. Some water and some cheeseburgers. Stop every 550 miles.

      To average 21MPG on the interstate, what speed are you going? I go 80-85mph in a 22 Tundra at only get 17.2mpg

    • @SuperSnakePlissken
      @SuperSnakePlissken Год назад +1

      @@447ephesians6 70 mph typically to get that mpg, but also I live in Texas where it is completely flat. Once I get over 75 it drops like quite a bit. At 80 mpg I'm getting 17-18 mpg but I can consistently get 19 mpg on the highway. In town it is 14-15 mpg but I would say typically I get 15.5 mpg in city if I drive like I didn't steal it.
      The other thing you have to unerstand though is how a twin turbo works. I"m running a lower rpm than you are because I have a longer stroke being a V8 vs a 2.3 L smaller engine in that V6. You are not only running at a higher RPM but both those turbos are spinning to get that tiny engine to put out the power necessary to move that 6,300 lb vehicle plus whatever other wait you have added at that speed. I come in 500 lbs lighter than you with the same a similar axle ratio of 3.30. I also notice better mpg when I am running premium 93 octane (which is what I typically use) than 87 octane.
      I hate to say it my friend but turbos are not these great engines the government tries to tell you that they are. Do not even get me started on turbos mpg when towing. Sheesh! :)

      @bibik1151 Год назад +1

      You can get ~20mpg if you stay below 75mph easily, just like you said.
      I have a 2016 with a lighter wheel/tire combo, no 3rd row and I can barely scratch 18 at 75, 80mph=16-17mpg
      But, again, if you stay

    Lexuses always seems to get worse gas mileage than their European and American rivals. My guess is they don't like upgrading anything drive train wise just like with their infotainment systems.

    Charlie, I hope people are not buying any 3 ton SUV for its fuel efficiency. The real fuel efficiency of this 570 will be beaten by a few mpg by its competitors but the QDR of this Lexus is unrivaled. I hope your channel is one of the first to test the next LX when it gets the turbo V6 and modern 'infotainment' .

      Nobody I know drives this solo. They all haul 4-5 people over distance and that’s what you are paying for.

  • @beekaye1496

    Buying this car isn’t about fuel efficiency at all. Most of the Engines produces with a 5.6, 5.7 or even 5.8 all gets somewhere between 12mpg to 17 mpg. I have my Infiniti 2006 QX56 where mines only get about 14.7 in city and 16.2 on highway. The LX570 is my next upgrade from the infiniti which I got 494K miles.
