Thanks for the video, I’m gonna get the Google pixel 3XL as a secondary device because even today it takes better pictures which can be compared to flagship smartphones + You can get it for a cheaper price which is more worth than buying a budget Camera😅
Great video! I just bought Pixel 6 Pro and I was comparing it with my current Pixel 3XL in terms of camera. I clicked pictures of my Christmas tree with both phones side by side and to my surprise, my Pixel 3XL took better pictures than Pixel 6 Pro. I had steady lights on my Christmas tree, and the camera on Pixel 6 Pro kept flickering with black stripes. While on Pixel 3XL, the camera remained steady. When I clicked pictures on both phones of the Christmas tree, Pixel 6 Pro had half screen black vertically and it captured only half tree; while my Pixel 3XL captured the entire tree perfectly fine with no flickering at all. I am yet to test the camera on both phones in clear day light environment. But so far, I am disappointed with low light settings on Pixel 6 Pro. I am going to test more and see how the results turn out.
@@andreas1701d Thanks for replying. I haven't tested extensively yet because it's just been 2 hours that I have bought the phone. But I can say that, I bought two Pixel 6 Pro phones (one for myself, other for my spouse), and both the 6Pros have same outcome with capturing the Christmas tree.
@@andreas1701d yes, LED lights. I have set them to clear yellow and steady. I will try to share the links to both the pictures with you for comparison.
Great video, thank you for this! I have the Pixel 3 XL and been contemplating whether to upgrade to Pixel 6. Just slightly disappointed with the front camera but overall a worthy upgrade!

@@andreas1701d Over three months of usage, Andreas you are right. It's a good upgrade but nothing groundbreaking. A smarter phone with great tools, and the camera is good but not great. Screen quality and audio speakers are a letdown. Overall good phone!
I upgraded from my 4 year old Pixel 2, so definitely a great upgrade for me. Having said that, the Pixel 2 even today takes some of the best pictures coming out from a smartphone 4 years later.
@@andreas1701d that's right. The cameras have been so good since Pixel 2 that year on year improvement appears very little if you compare them all, but that doesn't undermines the fact the Google software for photography has been phenomenal.
Hey thanks for watching! The only thing I preferred on the 3 was the fingerprint sensor. Aside from that, it ranges from the same to superior in every other category.
Nailed it man... I currently am still using the Pixel 3xl.... the Pixel 4 wasn't much better, the Pixel 5 was too small and not really much better... but the Pixel 6 is what I am thinking about.... only problem is the Pixel 7 is only 4 months away... ugg... what to do? Maybe do a "should you wait for the Pixel 7" video soon... I liked the review... it felt different than the typical 'talking points'... felt like you were naturally walking through the thoughts a person may actually have...subbed and hoping for your review
Hey thanks for watching! I was going to release a full review but I've fallen behind for a variety of factors the last few months. I still plan to do a longer term type of video and perhaps I'll incorporate the "should you wait" question, that's a good idea. In a nutshell, I have the sneaking suspicion that Google will not be as aggressive with the pricing on the 7. That'll be a big factor. If I paid a flagship price for the 6, I wouldn't be as happy as I am, for sure. That said, the annoyances I have aren't really deal-breakers anyway and we've certainly reached a point where the iterative improvements year over year are marginal at worst, refinements at best.
the video of P6 is better because the Hardware camera improve. But the photo of both still remain the same due to google software process, P6 has better sensor and lens so it has better color rendering and low light performance.
Hey thanks for watching! The GCam was tuned to compensate for the older 12mp sensor. Now, using the same processing photos look a tad overprocessed on the 6 vs the 3, though the raw files from the 6 are quite a bit better. Video is indeed much better on the 6, though still not quite as good as iPhone or Samsung.
Hey thanks for watching! Personally I'd go for the Nord because it has a longer lifespan ahead of it in terms of updates. I believe the pixel 3 XL is already done with updates.
Hey thanks for watching! My only issues so far have mostly to do with the RUclips Studio app crashing quite often. What are some examples of what you've had so far?
Hey thanks for watching! I'm definitely#TeamPixel I've had them since the first one and have never been disappointed. I think the camera will be the big selling point here as it's significantly better in my opinion. That said, if you already have other Apple products, then it makes a lot of sense to go iPhone. They're both great devices.
@@fernagiu from what I know, yes. But admittedly I've never personally used the 3. The XL has a larger, higher resolution, higher PPI screen and a bigger battery but everything else is pretty much identical from what I can see on the spec sheets.
Great video man. Different from all the videos on the RUclips tech saying basic things like "oh it's more saturated" before passing on the next picture I noticed that my pixel 3xl used to take better photos at some points, for example when I take a 2x zoom picture it does a much better job than my pixel 6 which add way too much contrast and sharpness to it. We can talk about the skin tone too, which I preferred on my pixel 3xl as well. And the portrait to me seems less good too, in terms of edge detection and ah that pushed sharpening. Look forward to your next videos!
Hey thanks for watching! No doubt a lot comes down to personal preference; one important piece of the puzzle for me is potential. I believe given the hardware, the 3XL is as good as it's ever going to get today. The 6 however, with its improved hardware, has way more upside. It's just a matter of tweaking the processing. The raw unprocessed DNG images are really night and day between the two in terms of IQ.
Cool review. I love comparing smart phone cameras. I still think LG has the best cameras of any of the phones, but that doesn’t matter anymore. :-) I think this new pixel, combined with software like filmic pro, would be an awesome tool.
To be perfectly honest, if it wasn't for a lack of future updates, I probably would have bought a Sony instead. The Xperia Pro-I with its one inch sensor is kinda insane, and I love that they include the Sony camera interface. But, and I know this is gonna sound crazy, I still use my smartphone as a smartphone first and camera second, so updates and longevity matter more to me 😁
@@andreas1701d I totally agree regarding the Sony. And that’s exactly why I loved my LG phones, because they had full manual control, like a real camera. But ever since I bought a real camera, I could care less about any of this anymore. Once I bought a camera, and some lenses, my phone officially became simply a phone. What a concept? :-)

Upgraded from the 3XL to the Pixel 6, I prefer the 3XL selfie camera by far

Makes me think whether the old Sony sensors or that new Pixel 6 Samsung sensor make a difference or is Google's AI getting better?
I'd say Google's AI is overcompensating because it's still optimized for the lesser sensor, resulting in slight over sharpening on the 6.
