  • The perfect winter project: Installing SSI heat exchangers onto my air cooled Porsche 911!
My 911 came with aftermarket headers which leaves the car without any cabin heat. I've finally tracked down an affordable set of SSI heat exchangers and will be installing them following the 'backdate' heat method. Thanks for watching!

I'm going the other way. I live in Vancouver (Canada) and only plan on driving in warm weather. I have a great set of heat exchangers looking to trade for headers. Like your show. I plan to get more Porsche content out on my channel soon as I do my upgrades. Cheers from Vancouver Canada.

Nice brother! I’m hoping to get SSIs on after my oil leak fixes! I have my original heat exchangers in place so it’ll be off to the mechanic for that. Decided to upgrade the studs to thick flanged so that any rebuild in the future we can bore from 3.0 to 3.2 and keep the SSIs. Looking forward to following your progress on this!!

Benny you’re not old and grumpy without heat. Try being 67 years old and driving your 911 in freezing cold weather or better yet drive your 911 when it’s 100° outside and you have no air conditioning. Yes I will enjoy installing a new set of SSI heat exchangers to my 1974 911.

Be mindful because they also store oil if covers leak and during summer will ignite.

LOL not sure how I didn't think of that before, but here I was trying to think of ways I'd free the rusted on nuts

@@BennyObscene Yeah, I replaced all the studs out of an abundance of caution. BelMetric has them in stock.
