Outdoor photography is always way less challenging than many indoor situations. I care most about low light indoor photography and video. Especially with a desk lamp or ceiling light in the background, or the only light source being a window. Would love to see a Pixel 9 pro review with those situations included.
I've yet to see any of the initial reviews talk about the significant lag when shooting full 50mp in Pro mode on the Pixel 8 Pro and whether or not this has been fixed on the Pixel 9 Pro/XL. It creates blurry photos unless it's on a tripod or stabilized and unless there is no movement happening in the frame. This is a fully wasted feature for 99% of the people who use it. I'd love to not have to fully stage a photo to have more MPs available for better control of editing afterwards.
I never doubt modern phones' capabilities to take amazing photos. They more or less just fall short when it comes to actually uploading these on social media
@@pudinichigo91but this the main Android... Google's phone. Why don't they do it at least with this phone? @@pudinichigo91 true. I hope app developers get more accountability in that regard. I seriously want to go back to android but I can't afford to have an iPhone just to upload good quality images/videos on social media
I don't understand why google puts the ultrawide camera in the middle, instead of the main camera, that's why the trasition to 5x camera will never be smooth, they are too far apart.
Let me guess: even after updates, no option for the ultra wide camera, 2x optical zoom quality crop, or 5x telephoto lens in portrait mode, blur mode, panoramas, or slow motion, and the shift when switching lenses will still be very slow and noticeable, with a choppy zoom animation (even though camera manufacturers figured out how to add a smooth animation for digital zoom decades ago.) Is it really that difficult to add zoom with more fine increments, and a slow down at the end of the zoom? The zoom should be smooth, even if I zoom in slowly by 0.1x. Android and Google apps should honestly just be built from the ground up with a new UI, and people checking for bugs in the previous version of Android. The blank navigation bar and status bar areas are *finally* being fixed after years, but that should never have been a thing. While the status bar is being fixed, even in landscape mode, I still don't know if we are going to get centered apps with the same "status bar width" of padding on the sides of the screen. The navigation bar could honestly just have a setting to remove it, but there could still be a safe area at the bottom of the screen. The themed icons shouldn't be in the state they are in. Notification's app icons show up themed, but apps themselves don't. Just take the app icons, put a black and white only filter over them (one that is just black or white, not greys), then add on the background app color that themed icons have (for the empty space around the icon. Likely just plain white), then have the secondary (the black part of the image) color be the icon design itself. 🫤 Oh, and also the sharpening needs to go. If they are saying we can take high resolution 33MP stills from the upscaled 8K video, then 50MP is definitely high resolution, so there is no excuse for the sharpening in photos or videos.
I wish they'd offer easy battery replacement then these phones would have the potential to last 7 years. I know they want users to keep purchasing their latest models so won't but it would be nice.
@EnglishMike it's not impossible for them to come back. Manufacturers are missing a trick in my opinion but I understand why they don't offer replacable batteries.
