Holy crap I've been missing out!! This video was so damn high quality it was CRAZYYY. Like too high quality, what the heck! That disintegrating effect you did blew my mind 😱 and made me crack up lol I'm glad you shared your experience about caulerpa being a diva. Your macro tank is looking POPPIN though and I hope things do alright after that whole ordeal. When one macro dies, another thrives. Just like corals. Took me a while to realize that, but macroalgae can be extremely aggressive and outcompete each other easily if they get the opportunity to!
Got a 5 gallon I just set up. Cycled and was good. Got a few snails and one died but couldn't find. Doing 1 gallon water changes everyday now. I feel your pain! This also killed my cyphastrea

But at least Im getting an upgrade so thats awesome Another video a week would be super cool!

Lol, That’s the nice thing about this hobby, there is really no perfect method to achieve success and I feel everybody has their own style of reefing which always keeps these live streams interesting. Maybe we can turn the tables and ask Keith all the questions 😂

That frag swap sounds awesome. I am in KC and just getting my first EVER corals in the beginning of March. Is there a facebook group or some other way to get the exact location of the frag swap when it gets more near?
Of course I would watch!! I would love more knowledge, tips, tricks, experiences. I am still relatively a novice only having my current systems up for just over a year. Had some good experiences and many setbacks. Most, I am sure are from my lack of testing. I would greatly benefit from videos going over what to do after testing the water parameters and finding something is high. Right now all I know is if A is high, water change. If B is high, water change. If C is high... you can see where I'm going with this. So I gave up testing and just try my best to keep up with water changes and STOP over feeding the system. Its not working that great, but hasn't completely failed me yet. Zoas are multiplying and some shrooms have as well, but I dont have a system I am proud of or would post pics of yet. Anyone not in the hobby would still think everything looks neat, but anyone who has been for a while would see the amount of work I have before me to get it back into a respectable ecosystem/habitat. Not something I ever thought I would be admitting to in a RUclips comment. I've seen plenty of videos going through the process of how to test the water, but nothing on what to do next. Or is water change the only solution and testing just gives you an idea of how frequently you need to? Test and see if you can skip a week? Just noticed the channel has over 11K subs now. Very nice. Hoping that keeps on track for this years goal. Of course we want to see the next frag swap. I'm hoping to go to my 1st one here in Buffalo this April if its permitted this year and check out the successes of the community around me. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the next video. Hey Remy, I got a question about zoas. I’ve had my tank with mainly zoas for 3+ years and I’ve been noticing that not all but a good amount of the zoas have the skirt not open fully (the polyps are opening but just the skirt or lashes won’t come out or stretch fully is there’s any reason why that might happen? My parameters are right now Salt 1.026 Alk 8.5 Cal 450 Mag 1500 Nitrate 10-15 Phos 0.08 Temp 78-79 I sent an ICP test out and they say all is good except strontium it was at 0 and they recommend to be at 10 ppm (I’m working on that) Also the only thing I’ve done different is that I remove all my rock that I had since the begging and made a new aquascape with new rock.
Phos...maybe? You're under .1 which is good. Honestly, you might try running a chemiclean treatment. I know a lot of zoa guys that run chemiclean on a quarterly basis. Sometimes bacterial stuff can build up and affect zoas. Your parameters look great.

That's a tough question to answer in a comment because there are so many factors. I'd just keep researching ways to battle it on RUclips. You'll eventually find something that works for you!
Have caulerpa go sexual is just part of the fun of a macro tank! Hopefully in a few months you’ll have tons of palm trees popping up all over the rock work. Another great video remy. Bring on the 5 minute fridays!

Might take the Clownfish a while to get to it. I would have waited till they are laying to order rotifers. Once they start, they will lay eggs every few weeks so you don't have to be ready for the first brood. In fact it might take them several attempts before the process works completely. More bahamaLlama the better!
That's good to know. Newbie on the clown breeding front. I think it will be good to learn how to properly culture rotifers anyway. No loss there. I'm guessing it's not too difficult but I just want to be ready. Thanks for the tips - I'm a sponge right now!

Caulerpa taxifolia is well known for this. Back in the nineties I though it was cool. Halimeda was and is still kinda cool to me, but I wouldn't put it in a reef. I did have some as hitchhiker In my i first reef. Check it out on instagram.

Small tanks are fun but super challenging to start. One thing that's worked well for me, 80% water changes.

Keep nutrients up and add most of the macros in the beginning. I think this kept nuisance algae down for me.
