I had the pleasure of meeting Joey Cook at a late night bar in the French Quarter of New Orleans. She was with another awesome singer/musician as they made money entertaining the crowds in the bar and on the streets. Joey was singing and playing the accordion! One guy in our crew fell for her as we all hung out together til 4am. They made a nice connection but he was taken and faithful. We all fell for her, actually, in her torn knitted sweater, pink hair, awesome voice, and contagious personality. I suggested she go on American Idol considering her young age and she replied that she did! They were just on hiatus. Imagine how pleased we were to watch the world learn what we had previously discovered that night... That Joey is one helluva talent, and one helluva a dame! Love this cover! So glad to see her doing well. Cheers!
Saw PMJ last night in Fort Lauderdale, Florida... amazing! I took my extended family as a surprise and everyone loved the show. If you have the opportunity you have to go!
