It took me a while but I think I figured out what they did to achieve that amazing vocal effect. I think they used a Vocoder (for those who don't know a vocoder is a device that let's you superimpose the harmonics of a singer with the harmonics on a sythesizer with the vocalists harmonics acting like a template for the synth.) with a chorus. They tuned the vocoder down an octave and added the chorus afterwards. Either that or it ist just some preset on a vocal prozessor.
I mean, they all killed this, but the keyboard player is just SO in the groove on this, his foot tapping to this playing to his dancing, then the bassist is also amazing my god that was good
@@adamstoker I listened to that cover you mentioned and while I hear the similarities, I think its important to remember both artists are covering the same song. They aren't going to flip the song on itself and change every aspect. It's very possible Glass Animals went down the same route in the way they wanted to remix/cover the song (without influence from Cyril Hahns cover). I say that because the Glass Animal cover sounds as if this is how they would write this song, it has their Dreamland vibe.
Beyond this feeling exactly like Glass Animals, I love that they really has the sound and vibe of a club mix that would have come out when Say My Name first came out.
My biggest flex is that I can say I've been following these guys pretty much since the beginning, and it's so heartwarming to see them get the love and attention they deserve. Much love all the way from Saudi Arabia❤️

You should check out the remix by Cyril Hahn. To my ear Glass Animals took a ton of inspiration from that for this cover.
