Hi. I am totally with you regarding low light mode. In low-light scenarios, I totally agree that the normal video in d-log gives way much better image than the low-light mode. For me, low light mode is way too noisier. Thanks for this amazing review 👏

I personally like the default sharpness and noise reduction (0 for both) but I also don't use the night video mode and just film in D-Log in low light situations. If I was trying to be more "cinematic", I would set both -2 and control it on post

You've said there are some settings which bigger cameras have and in Pocket 3 missing (like longer shutter speeds). What else? What about setting AF speed? Can you set slower for smoother transitions? (here few shots AF was fast but too aggressive). Also is it possible to set manual focus?

I use fuji xt5 generally though i have other cameras & telescopes too. I’d love to use this for night sky captures & dog agility. Any news on longer than 1s speed yet? Would a patch upgrade in the future work or need to be a feature of the next version?
@@miarosie 1. Active track only works in the main video modes. It should work for animals but you need to select them as the subject. It doesn't work in the timelapse mode. 2. No news on the longer shutter speed though it does use longer ones if you leave everything on auto and use an interval above 30s (this is the max the camera will use for a shutter speed)

The quality of the X4 is NOT 1 inch, hence low light is terrible, and the 8k resolution is divided by the 360 image. The only REAL point where the X4 excels is its an action camera, so its weatherproof.
I agree with @deniss.6205, if you want better image quality, the DJI Pocket 3 is way better, if you want a sports/action camera, the Insta360 X4 is better. How did you manage to get the loop of the wrist-band through the two holes on the camera? I am trying since yesterday, but still haven't succeeded. Is there some special trick to it?
Great review! I find your footage extremely impressive..the pocket 3 is hitting high and more than capable.. the fact it is comparable to high end cameras says it all. As a potential buyer i see a few issues though that make me hesitant. 1. It is somewhat fragile which limits use. 2. The cost is high compared to pocket 2 price, (and osmo action 4) 3. Overall Size is not bad but compared to pocket 2 seems a backward step apart from the screen size that is. Still i may buy one despite this all as it is so capable. However i am interested to know whether this is so much better than an action 4 cam as its hard to justify the extra cost.. i know low light is so much better on pocket 3.. but is it that much better overall i guess is my thoughts? Am i comparing apples and oranges?

With the chocolate in the gimbal, I am surprised that it survived all of that. With that being said, yes, it's plastic and a gimbal so it's more fragile than a "pro" camera. 2. Yep the cost hurts. I almost got one before getting this camera! But I decided that I didn't need a small version of my Sony A7 IV and the DJI Pocket 3 has features that Sony can't replicate.
