Truing the flywheels to less than 1 degree is not a simple process, in some cases it may take hours, but is well worth the effort. Very interesting and informative. Thank you.

I have a 2004 sportster taking a measurement of my crankshaft in the truing stand Exactly where you were measuring I’m getting .002 The service manual says to measure on the outer ends of the shafts. Measuring there I’m getting .004 on both ends. Service manual states anything over .002 on the ends should be serviced and turned. Thoughts I this? I was always told to measure closest to the flywheels. I’m wondering if truing is necessary. Thanks
Thank you VERY much! Machinist here, im already drooling over making a dedicated truing rig like that. Nice! (Always had the luxury of a lathe at work, mines to small ...)
When the crank is fitted into the cases I inject a bunch of oil into the connecting rods on the crank pin race, this way I do not have to remove the rods after final fitting after honing/cleaning and risk dropping a needle etc
You really don't need the music. It just distracts from what you are doing. Peope tune in to see your expertise not listen to the band. Don't take this comment as a negative. What you do is great.😎👍
the problem is after all that time is spent aligning the flywheels they won't stay trued, if you can tap them into alignment how much would it take for it to go out of alignment, if you balance them really well they may stay true, for a longer time but probably not the life of the engine
We always make sure they are at .000- .001 runout max. One side is keyed and the other side is tapered. Harley has made them this way since the beginning. Balancing them is a whole different procedure

I like the strength of your videos. I have a question. Is the roller bearing race on the right side of the shaft suitable for grinding in Evo 1997? Thank you 😊
zero run out ...cant get much better than that....nice craftmanship
Thank You!

Thanks!
Nice.. Where can i buy one of those truing stands? 🙏
This is an old one that my mentor has, he’s had it for over 40 years!
i had the same flywheel in the evo engine. 4 1/4 stroke

Extremely professional!
Thank You!👊🏻
Do you also have to get it balanced or just away with true
where is assembly lube?

Fantastic video. I am looking for someone to build me a pan shovel from scratch. Is this something that your shop does?
How do you know which sides to squeeze or spread on the last step?
Just learn from time, some wheels are easier to true then others

Tatro Machine hits the crank while in the truing stand; would it depend on what stand?
Trato uses a big , fat, thick indestructible truing stand

I d like another UL.
Any plans for more build videos?
Yep I have lots of footage just too busy right now to make more videos. I’ll have some new ones up soon!
That crank got less runout than a brand new m8. 😂

Then Put It On Mute & Put On Your Own Music🤙🏻

That's disgusting music.
