Doesn't get any better...old school Creature Feature host & old school horror movie (remake). The perfect combination...! The original 1932 version with Boris Karloff is a foundation movie...it was one of the early horror movies that paved the way for the greatest genre there will ever be! Long live horror! Long live Creature Feature!!

As somebody who studied drama in high school I have a huge respect for the older films and a huge love for the older films as well especially when it comes to the horror genre why was just a couple of years ago that I was on Tubi watching American Werewolf in London and I was thinking to myself there are so many people in this country they don't give a damn about the older classics but a true movie buff like myself has a deep love and a deep respect for those who filmed at these films that came before producers like Quentin Tarantino Oliver Stone and so on and so forth

There are old houses and there are dark houses but the ones you have to watch out for are old dark houses. " Why?", you ask. Because strange things happen in old dark houses! Have you ever seen a movie where someone arrives at an old dark house and the weather is fine and there are pretty flowers in the garden and kitty cats and puppys are chasing butterflies? This movie will test everything you learned watching Scooby Doo, so get dressed , and wait for The Mystery Machine to pick you up and take you to saturday night where horror lurks within....' THE OLD DARK HOUSE'

I used to own John Stanley's "Creature Features Movie Guide" growing up. This was in the early days of VHS tape and few cable channels, so whenever i saw one of the movies listed in the book in my local tv guide, i would be sure to watch or tape it, because there was little chance it might air again. When my parents divorced, the book(s) were either sold in a garage sale or given away to Half Price Books. Used copies are hard to find and pricy on eBay.

I saw this movie when I was maybe 3 to 5 years old, in the mid 90s. My parents did *not* remember it, and I don't remember finding out what it was until maybe 2009 - 2010. Every time I tried to describe it, my Mom kept asking if I dreamed it. I get that it's strange, but how could I have dreamed of *this?* I can see how I might have dreamed about the boat part, but the other pertinent parts? No.

Love you guys . I went to see this in the theatre in '63 when I was 11. We were fans of Tom Poston when he was a stand up comedian. He was one of three regulars on , I think , the Jack Parr show along with Louis Nye and Don Knott's. Robert Morley always a gem in everything movie he did. Charles Addams, who did the drawings in the credits, is the guy who gave us the Addams Family, the cartoon in "The New Yorker" and William Castle who we of course loved. Tricks in the theatres! He was one of our Horror Heroes. As always, much than, especially for tonight's guest, Jon Stanley. Oh yeah, I will always have a mad mad crush on Tangella. Keep 'em coming. Oh sure, you forget to pay your power bill one time and they make a movie about you. Either the 1932 or 1963 version would be a treat, though overall I think the cast is better in the '32 (though it's always nice seeing Tom Poston). We might want to avoid the version starring Lassie, however...The Old Dog House...
