If I encountered a harmonium that sounded like a Hammond, I, too would scream in terror.
Vincent Price is sublime.
Love him or loathe him, he's as camp as a row of tents. Definitely not a criticism. In fact, I doubt that VP would get a look in these days. It took real acting chops, whether
camp or otherwise, to be able to convey what many of these actors do in such movies. Bearing in mind the material they're working with.
No actor comes close to the greatness of Vincent Price. I love this film!
I agree with you 100%. He did a great job as the evil Professor Ratigan.
Indeed.
Nothing comes close to your close minded notion of greatness.
Let's see: Robert Redford, Clint Eastwood, Robert Dinero, Meryl Streep, Al Pacino, Mike Douglass.....
@@MyOneFiftiethOfADollar Vincent "GOAT" Price clears those frauds.
@@MyOneFiftiethOfADollar surely you jest.
One of the Best of 50 s horror Vincent Price helped make it so a very enjoyable 1 hr and 18 min. So much better than today's so called horror movies that are nothing but a gore fest And profanity so Many making horror movies The last several years you can build up horror and suspense without All the gore it's called having a Great cast of very competent actors And actresses And good scripts
good scripts, good, suspense no need for gore and profanity
@@tommymarco I used to scar my brain with extreme horror movies like _'A Serbian Film'_ and _'Human Centipede'_ and _'Martyrs'_ and _'Cannibal Holocaust'_ and _'Salo: 120 Days of Sodom'_ etc. Now I prefer classic 50/60s gothic movies with actors like Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Vincent Price or Boris Karloff. I'm less unhappy as a result.
This would make a great film to be seen on Halloween. Ghosts and Vincent Price make a fine pairing.
Vincent is the GOAT. 👑
The dark haired lady had the best part She screamed for 80% of her dialogue
Very funny !!! So true!!
This is going be fun one of my favorites and Vincent Price is phenomenal thanks ccc you're the best.
Looking forward: anything with Price has value. You may consider that a pun.
hey a cool pun too.
Every October I find myself watching this fun macabre treat again. Love Vincent and Carol Ohmart together, love the shocks and surprises, and the music by Von Dexter. Oh, and of course that jump-scare with the old crone, that's fantastic. HOHH has something of a film noir vibe to it in some ways.
Ws Von Dexter behind the music with the lady and the operatic voice? It was wonderful throughout! First time I've seen this film.
@@theoriginalbluey I'm not sure who the woman was or if Mr. Dexter chose this vocalist personally. Sorry. She really gives the soundtrack an ethereal quality.
@@theoriginalbluey Someone once said that it could have been Loulie Jean Norman. You can look her up; she is well known for her theremin-like work on the season 1 theme of Start Trek, from 1966.
Here is an upload of most of this film's music, plus sound effects and such:

Seems that this audio above had to be extracted directly from the movie itself because it seems the actual score is not available anywhere.
Cassandra Peterson(Elvira) named this her favorite horror movie and what got her into horror.

Classic! Thanks👍!!
Love a good haunted house film❤ although regret wearing headphones when the screaming started 😂😂
My first time watching this film, I love everything about it. I'm very much enjoying your B+W classic horror playlist, thank you Cult Cinema Club
She's so amusing.
50’s B pic which doesn’t take itself too seriously, see skeleton in the credits and you will see what I mean, and the film is much improved by the presence of Vincent Price. It’s not my favourite William Castle film but has some good moments. I particularly enjoyed the delivery in a hearse as really sets the mood early doors.
This is a true classic. Love Vincent Price. 1:09:55 to 1:12:37 so awesome.
I was scared when I watched this I was home by myself we had big house I started hearing ththings in the hallway upstairs I was so happy when my mother came home from bowling
Best of the Best! Its a Halloween tradition here at our house.
Fantastico, claustrofobico horror con un sublime Vincent Price!
Possibly the only film where Elisha Cook, Jr. is alive at the end!
So true! He does get killed a lot in his movies! What a great actor! That’s what elevated this movie. Price and Cook and Long and Castle directing!
He didnt die at the end of the Maltese Falcon. -- but yes I know what you mean.
redshiftexperiment maybe I am confused, I thought it was agreed between Spade and Gutmann that Wilmer would be the « fall guy ». Did that just mean prison?
@@benoitpellet1657 yes it was agreed that Wilmer would be the fall guy. This meant that Spade needed someone that the police could pin all the murders on. Spade mentioned to Gutman that if he didnt have someone to give to the cops then he would be in danger of being arrested for Thursby's murder and possibly the others. So yeah it was all about handing someone over to the cops. That being said, it didnt matter anyway because Wilmer ran off before the end of the movie. So we dont really know what ended up happening to him at all. (Although based on a phone conversation Spade had with the cops near the very end, it could be assumed that he was caught, but it's not definite.) I dont know if the Wilmer character was killed or even existed in the Dashiell Hammett novel, but that's how it played out in the movie anyway. Sorry for the long response.. LOL .. that's one of my favorite movies. :)
redshiftexperiment Great, thanks for the explanation!
Merci a vous pour ce film intense en suspens
Vincent Price e Zé do Caixão são os melhores
Congratulations on 100k subs!

Bello. E grazie per la traduzione. Giuliano da Genova 🌹👍
Nice one
Vincent Price ❤
Vince is amazing of course, but they are all great in this. I am a huge Elisha fan.
“She's so amusing..."
How Airbnb got started.
"Emergo." Anyway thanks CCC.
Toward the end of the movie (around 1:10:22 to 1:10:38) when the skeleton emerges from the acid and stalks Carol Ohmart, I thought it was strange that she had almost a faint seductive smile on her face in a couple of shots.
I'd watch... but I have it! And since they think it's funny to rip people off with the fake no signal you might get a dislike... I'd complain about it if I were you
Damn I should have just watched it online instead of buying it on DVD! The DVD I have of this film is In horrible shape, the image looks worse than VHS quality, If I knew that there were much better options just on the Internet I would have done that.
How come everybody keeps going to there room but never gos to sleep lol
GREAT SCREAMER IN THE BEGINNING...............
So this is how scooby doo 😂 started! Folks.
Agradecimiento para todos los involucrados ojala pusiese apoyarlos.
Tem colorido em outro canal
Julie Mitchum (Ruth Bridgers) older sister of actor Robert Mitchum.
Sorry I would have said keep the money I’m off home
How come you can upload this movie without it getting taken down?
It's not a politically incorrect movie, so maybe they sometimes close the eyes and let it pass.
If you want a real answer and not some dumb nonsense like the commenter above me spouted, it's because this film is in the public domain.
This film is one year younger than me.
As for us... (who love Edgar Allan Poe).
Wonder why the pilot didn't show anyone else the "head" he found?
I thought you couldn't come and go..so where did the Dr. come from at 23:06?
The gates close at midnight, not at 23:00 or before or imeddiately after the guests' arrival. The host said it himself. Before midnight anybody may leave, but he / she loses the money.
Καλη....!!!!
bom
Carol is definitely hot.
Its already on youtube , so nothing premier about fhis .
It’s called fun, pal.
Was Vincent Price gay? ....Not that there's anything wrong with that...😀
