The restoration of these old films is of an historical value for us. To be able to watch them & save them is a great honor. Thank you for sharing these films with us.
Watched this 70 years ago in 15 minute segments on afternoon television. At one time or another I thought Strang, Steinbeck and the Detective were at one time or another the "Whispering Shadow".
How many times did bela get knocked out?? I love it when he scolds his daughter. Love his tall, delicious frame. He always looks great in a suit especially in a tux!! Lugosi had a nice body well into his 50s with nice long legs that looked wonderful in evening wear. This serial was unbelievable...fantastic and good. Love Bela!!
I love the computer-generated captions... a couple of examples from Chapter 11: @ 3:27:58 My mission is comfy ! [= accomplished] @ 3:28:30 Come quick Raymond! Get the shuttle ! [= I've got The Shadow]
This is a bit shorter than some serials. I saw one with Bela and the Dead End Kids. It was screened in about 8 hours with short breaks and, as I recall, some short subjects between episodes.
Oh this was good....Karl Dane oh He seemedso nice Was in "Son of Sheik" w Rudy Valentino...great..in that as Rudy' s servant ..and friend..i think real friends in real life....think i read something sad about Him..later on His wife & baby passing away....not sure ....hope NOT ..😢
Yes! His "valet" . . . and "friend"! My father was Edward Everett Horton's "valet" in the late twenties, at the time of "The Hottentot" shoot. 'Got the real low-down all about then. Practically everything was NOT 'as it seemed'. Not all but most. I know all about "valets"! and "friends" from those earlier Hollywood days.

That was awesome!
That's what SHE said !!
How did you know??
We love this so much we've made all the actors look like dwarfs. Forget it.
If you could upload this in the correct aspect ratio, it would make a big difference.
lovely, silly, scary fun. o boy. tremendous
Why stretch the picture?
Preserve original 4:3 aspect ratio
I hope this will be corrected in a future repost.
@@oliverbrownlow5615No you don't.
@@scarygary-qq1pjyes they do.
A huge pile of corn and cheese. I expect nothing less from Mascot. And Lugosi really chews the scenery in this one. But I love it.
Wrong aspect ratio.Stretched and distorted.
Seriously!? You realize it’s a film from 1933! 🙄
People find something to bitch about in anything
