Saw them Sept 1 2000 , Carbondale Ill , I am 53 now and have loved KISS since 1976 ( 1rst grade) Next to my Sons being born , it was the greatest night of my life
Peter is one of my favorite drummers of all time. Not enough people get him. He plays it tight and from the heart. Much like Scott Asheton of the Stooges with a jazzy flair.
I saw this tour in San Bernardino, CA with my best friend since 1997.....we are still buddies! We Enjoyed seeing one of our favorite bands. Good Times.
I myself and a co 👷 worker went to this tour 8 days later at the Anaheim's pond in Anaheim CA. I till this day have my Farewell tour tee-shirt😝🎸🎶🎵🎤also my 🎫 ticket stub and saw them again in 2003 at the forum in IInglewood,CA.🎸🎶👺😝😜
Farewell Tour my ass! Man, that Ted Nugent has a mouth on him, he never runs out!!! :D It looks like Peter is barely hitting the drums. Did they use triggers on his drums? "I can hear you Breathe, I can't hear you" LOL Paul Stanley still had his voice back then. It's a shame about his voice being gone these days, he really was one of the best front-men in rock, especially in the non-makeup years.
Awesome 2 of the 6 biggest musical inspirations of mine together, legit, Ted is one of the few celebrities were I agree with his political views and love his stuff just as much. I mean if I ever find anything with Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ted Nugent, KISS, AC/DC, and DIO all together I'm gonna loose it cuz those are my biggest musical inspirations.
James Hughes Paul’s book is the biggest load of shit ever. He calls Ace out for the nazi uniform incident but yet there’s a picture of Paul in it too. In Paul’s book everyone is incapable of doing anything, unskilled, etc except for him. You can even tell from the reunion tour videos that he was actually hitting those drums compared to later on.
He was saying what he always does to make a buck. Hearing it directly from Gene convinced many fans this was absolutely the last chance to see them and sold many more tickets than otherwise would have been sold.
Coffee&Conspiracy bullshit, they asked Ace to stay in 2002, they ditched Eric again as well and asked Peter to come back in 2002, Peter did come back till 04.
Paul sounds like he’s Suffering the fuck out!!!…… trying to hit those notes”🎶🎶🎶🎶😱😳😫🤭 I love the fuck out of KISS but……… pleaseeeeee! Stop stop stop stop it!!!! I can’t handle this anymore! 😫😫😩😩
I don't like the fact that Ace and Peter were replaced, but Tommy and Eric are much better musicians. In fact other than Paul's voice, Kiss sounds good today. They are not so tight here, that's for sure and I believe that has a lot to do with Peter and Ace.
You love kiss so much you said you were Paul Stanley once right? And your girlfriend said you like to be different people She was so great. Are you still with her if that was you?
Isn't it amazing how ppl just love to criticize when they positively haven't accomplished anything except being a bunch of Weishnemers and just lowering the comments to negativity 🤨 Hey if you feel you got cheated by attending the concert then that's your right. But Seriously Man who gives a F#$% about your complaint. It won't solve anything.. either enjoy the legends for who they are or find yourself another band to admire 😎
I was a bit bummed about this show. Was New Years Eve (Dec.31 1999) a HUGE New Years and they were so messed up they even forgot the countdown until the last few seconds. Was a good NYE but not the KISS perfection I've seen before.
It's either prerecorded drums, or someone is playing backstage. Peter isn't even playing along to Detroit Rock City. Wouldn't surprise me if all of the music is prerecorded.
Don't let the video fool you. I've seen many music videos over the years where the video isn't in sync with the audio. I could never figure out why they let it happen so often.
If only it had been like Gene lied here. I could look back at Kiss with no problems. Now I always have to announce myself as a Kiss fan, continuing with "except for after the farewell tour when..." You get the idea.
Always pretty much liked old Teddy .. another red blooded American rock and roll loving Michigan boy like me, and I love hunting/fishing too .. but .. I've always held ... Ted, lose the fricking strap-on tail, dude! .. (;P
Ted Nugent is a piece of work! He is so pro military but got out of serving during Vietnam. Gee whiz! So you are from Michigan? What a backwards hell hole! Main city is what Detroit? What a lovely place! Compared to Baghdad on bad day!
McDago100 Oh yeah ... just love the comments about Michigan .. coming from some broke back twink in California .. with a spine made outta jello instant pudding. Let me put this the same way Teddy responded once when asked what kinda rock and roll ever came out of France .. so you'll understand precisely who you remind us of (think sheep) ... b-a-a-a-a-a .. b-a-a-a-a-a ! (:o
mainstreet prophet1 You are happily married and monogamous? Woow! You are so virtuous! The people in AA are so glad to listen to your sanctimony I am sure. I doubt that there is much that disgusts you, given what you state in your posts. Remember, you have no credibility here.
Neil Peart was 55 in the 2007-08 Snakes and Arrows Tour, and he played even better and harder (no offense) than Peter Criss! Age doesn’t have anything to do with it.
The band seems off/opening night uncertainty? An average version of DRC.! Not digging the singing here/everyone seems to lack energy here? Peter Criss is barely playing as noted in previous documentaries he did! Nice triggers on that set! Too bad! They were way better as this Tour moved ahead! The LAST KISS (pay-per-view) from NJ was more like KISS!
Kiss and Ted both great not sure why its this verses that.I dont understand why look something up and then say it sucks just watch new kids on the block if you wanna hate on crap music
Maybe the WWE can get someone else to play the 'stone cold' character. Ladies and gentlemen here is stone cold Tommy Thayer. And then Thayer will get behind the Mic with a six pack of beer in hand and say "I yam one tough son of a bitch. Because stone cold said so.".
Mick0722MX I take it that you have not watched the making off KISS Unplugged? Peter says: I could not play it the way them other guys had been playing, they sped it up, and that is not the way I originally played it.
***** No, I did not see it, but his quote sounds more like a personal preference than not being able to play it. Being a drummer myself, I know that Detroit Rock City couldn't be any simpler. In fact, it has one of the easiest drum parts I've ever encountered in a song.
3:35 Nugent did a little did a little David Copperfield by having his crew switch guitars before he "sacrificed" his buffalo. I understand why, just seems a little deceptive.
Man, Peter is a weak, weak drummer. I betcha that kit ain't mic'd up. I'd say there's triggers, and the sensitivity is set to the max. Because he does not hit hard, at all. Which is a shame.
Triggers are great for those weekend club gigs, where set-up/sound check is limited. Our drummer used to mic AND trigger his kit. And, it sounded great that way. But, we usually had the luxury of time during set-up.
I could live with the dynamics falling down if that's all it was. Maybe I was just oblivious to it in the 70s and it was always bad, but good god his meter is atrocious. I'm certain the others must be well aware so I'm surprised especially with such a choreographed set they didn't make him play to a click in his in ears. Can't think of a reason not to unless he is one of those guys who can't play to a click and still have feel without dogging his brains out - or is it 'catting' his brains out? lol
During the beginning of the reunion tour Criss was on all cylinders. At this point of the farewell tour he had developed Carpol Tunnel Sydrome. Not the same as he used to be, but he was still kicking ass. He was probably aching during the concert.
I attended the 3/23 Oakland, California Arena event. It was a notable event as one concert goer either fell, or was pushed from the upper balcony and fell to their death. However, the show went on, and Ted and his three piece band totally stole the show that night as the best guitar playing was certainly done by "The Nuge." However, though I love his guitar skills, I hate his big yap. Moreover, he has been pinched for poaching (illegal hunting) several times as he is a lawless coward who must kill dim witted animals because he is insecure about his dink, being only yea (tiny) big. Sure, it's his Right to say what he wishes, but I care nothing for what he has to say, because he is NOT a politician, but he wishes he was. He does the same thing Bono (Boner, the worlds biggest piece of crap) from U2; he runs his mouth about his opinions instead of singing his songs. Ted did the same thing on this night, running down California, and its democratic State government. One concert goer bought several blue Tee-shirts and tied them together extremely tight, forming one big, hard mass of clothing. As Ted was mid sentence running down our State; the concert goer launched the wad of clothing with all of his might, and with perfect accuracy hitting "The Nuge" right in his unusually big head, hard! Ted stumbled from the blow to the head and he was furious, and instructed his "Staff" to "get that fucker!" This was clearly the highlight of the night, I laughed my ass off! Whomever it was that smacked his yap shut; I thank you kind sir. Cheers!
***** You know, I think you make a great point. I just never considered that because I could sit and listen to the man play his guitar all day long, yet I cannot abide his yap for a minute.
If you have to shoot a guitar with a damn bow and dress up in gothic bullshit makeup and costumes then you’re not a certified rock n roll band, you’re just a stage freak performer. Real rock is and always has came out of the south. Ronnie Van Zant R.I.P.
Nugent is a great showman!
Fuckin love Uncle Ted!! He did such a good job hosting and opening! like I really feel that this was one of the last moments of the classic rock era.
Glad I got to see it at age 13
This was filmed 8 days before I was born. Awesome
I'm old 00 seems like yesterday to me time flys
This was filmed a week after Ace’s father died.
Man, this has been a looooooooooong goodbye! The 20 year farewell tour(s).
It breaks my heart that Kiss has been off the road for over a decade now.
Wait a minute....
hahaha
LOL!
That'd be more than 2 decades now. And they're just now planning their "Final Shows". We shall see.
Saw them Sept 1 2000 , Carbondale Ill , I am 53 now and have loved KISS since 1976 ( 1rst grade) Next to my Sons being born , it was the greatest night of my life
So glad I found this video. My parents brought me here when I was six years old 😂fckin awesome so glad I got to experience this
Peter is one of my favorite drummers of all time. Not enough people get him. He plays it tight and from the heart. Much like Scott Asheton of the Stooges with a jazzy flair.
1970's Peter was great
@alec absolutely bro
This WAS the Farewell Tour in my opinion. Went to the show in St.Louis. It was so hot that night Ace came out for RNRAN with a t-shirt on.
Was At That Show As Well
I saw this tour in San Bernardino, CA with my best friend since 1997.....we are still buddies!
We Enjoyed seeing one of our favorite bands.
Good Times.

Vh1 used to be cool. Tons of great rock n roll shows were on when i was in my teens. All throughout the 00's
The Kiss intro part starts at around 18:00
This was the farewell tour! It was the farewell tour of the "REAL" KISS! Not this bogus one that we have today!
And that's to you Paul and Gene!
So glad to see the original band back together..❤️🌹🌹 for Ace and Peter... ENJOY retirement????..!!!
I was at this show, Still got the Shirt saying I was there.
Gene lying to hype ticket sales up. Al KISS fans fell for it too.
I went because I thought this was the end. Boy was I wrong. I did get to see the original line up which is good b
I saw this show in Nampa Idaho. It KICKED ASS!!
Ronoake Virginia my first show ever on this tour thanks dad best birthday ever

I WAS THERE AWESOME SHOW :)
duuude never saw this special! i saw them three days later in las cruces!!!!
What a Maneuver.
That Heaven's on Fire intro vocalization by mr. Stanley at 48... perfect! On Monster Tour not so much, but I digress.
20 something year long tour, that’s gotta be a record lol love kiss still
Farewell Tour my ass!
Man, that Ted Nugent has a mouth on him, he never runs out!!! :D
It looks like Peter is barely hitting the drums. Did they use triggers on his drums?
"I can hear you Breathe, I can't hear you" LOL Paul Stanley still had his voice back then. It's a shame about his voice being gone these days, he really was one of the best front-men in rock, especially in the non-makeup years.
robonez yes Peter used triggers. Barely hit em.

3:02
3:17
The very first audio is I'm Afraid of Americans - David Bowie
I went in 99' it was so worth it even though my dad brought me to MA to see them
It is a well know fact that Peters set was triggered to the max all the way during the reunion years 1996-2000 and 2003-2004
Santtu San yep
Actually he was triggered through Psycho circus and there on. The Reunion tour was all him
@@hotdoggod44 no reunion tour his drums were triggered too. Read Paul's book
James Hughes Paul’s book is the biggest load of shit ever. He calls Ace out for the nazi uniform incident but yet there’s a picture of Paul in it too. who gives a shit
THE NUGE & KISS Baby !!😜🤘
Basically all I need
Saw this tour in Binghamton.
"Were not touring again. This is not a trick." It's been 17 years now, & I call BULLSHIT!!!
12:15 gene lies......
He was saying what he always does to make a buck. Hearing it directly from Gene convinced many fans this was absolutely the last chance to see them and sold many more tickets than otherwise would have been sold.
They have no shame, especially when it comes to the mighty dollar.
Silent1674 -- Very true. The thing that really sucks is that there are a few tribute bands that beat the one with Paul and Gene.
They technically didn't lie. It WAS the last tour with all 4 original founding members so.....
👍🇺🇲❤AMERICAN ICONS
Was at desert sky pavilion that night..
I saw this tour in Portland Maine. Nugent was fucking great as always. Kiss, not so much.
They didn't lie. This was the Farewell. Farewell to Ace&Peter.
Coffee&Conspiracy bullshit, they asked Ace to stay in 2002, they ditched Eric again as well and asked Peter to come back in 2002, Peter did come back till 04.
Keep drinking the Paul/Gene kool aide
Paul sounds like he’s Suffering the fuck out!!!…… trying to hit those notes”🎶🎶🎶🎶😱😳😫🤭 I love the fuck out of KISS but……… pleaseeeeee! Stop stop stop stop it!!!! I can’t handle this anymore! 😫😫😩😩
Tommy and Eric are picking up the pieces of KISS left by Ace and Peter and I am a KISS fan of all eras so there.

12:05 Oh.. ok.. sure.
yeah a farewell tour, when they came back a couple of years later with different people in ace and peters makeup!

KISS should've opened for The Nuge.
These negative comments about Peter. His tempo is very good here. Don't bag on him. Let's see how you would do if you were his age. Show some respect!
Neil Peart was 55 in the 2007-08 Snakes and Arrows Tour, and he played even better and harder (no offense) than Peter Criss! Age doesn’t have anything to do with it.

"I can't hear you Phoenix"
We sadly can.
H. Odensack As a Phoenix native too, I share your same thoughts and pain.
13:15 tour manager Tommy Thayer
sucking dicks to replace Ace, he must have done some good lube jobs
Paul is just a egomaniac..after listening to him talk about his book and complaing we know it was him that destroyed everything
Saw this tour in Austin.Ted was great.Kiss wasn’t as good as the Reunion Tour.
bullshit
Peter should not have sang on Heavens on fire stick to Beth and Hard Luck Woman Peter.

I agree with what Paul said in one of his audio commentaries....Peter plays like he's half asleep lol
so what and here you are
I will add Gene and Ace did not sound good together on Heavens On Fire as well Gene and Paul only on that song with this line up.
Tried to play a drinking whenever Ted said maneuver. i ended up in a coma...

Detroit Rock City seems very slow.
Sad, but it happens with age. Great show nonetheless.
Yea, they had to slow it down for Peter, as he could not keep up with the way that Eric Carr or Eric Singer plays the songs.
*****
Is that what they said, or is it your opinion?
Mick0722MX I take it that you have not watched the making off
KISS Unplugged?
Peter says: I could not play it the way them other guys had been playing, they sped it up, and that is not the way I originally played it.

Farewell Ace and Peter.. you aren't missed........
...And Peter Criss is thinking (Farewell to Gene and Paul's Bullshit)

Ya, too bad Peter was so Gimped out. He used to kick ass, I was disappointed by his playing, and the smaller sized drum set.
I can tell they don't like Ted
Nobody does.
They're friends with Ted and asked him to do this, in addition to asking him to tour with them for several tours since the 70s.
He wouldn't be there if they didn't like him. I personally think Ted Nugent is a Big TimeA-hole!!
He likes the word maneuver!
How many times does Ted use the word maneuver? 8 or 9
Ace background vocals @30:00 is so damn bad!💩
Yet he’s made millions what have you done?
Peter Criss looks like a small child playing. No enthusiasm at all. he blows.
Nah, a small child can play better than that.
During the beginning of the reunion tour Criss was on all cylinders. At this point of the farewell tour he had developed Carpol Tunnel Sydrome. Not the same as he used to be, but he was still kicking ass. He was probably aching during the concert.

Kiss, psy-operation.

2 wannabe musicians, 1 haggard past his prime drummer & 1 stoned but showing flashes of talent lead guitarist is the definition of this era Kiss.
