    Indeed. This is SO right! A need to know basis is all HR needs. I feel like the whole formal complaint process is a trap in and of itself. When asked if I wanted to lodge formal complaints against several members of leadership, I simply said that doing such a thing would make my job insufferable, regardless of retaliation policies. I want a fix, not to wantonly complain and add fuel to the fire...

    Thanks for the tip. HR can also assume your documentation is mere hearsay and have managers conjure up stuff.

    This is what happened to me today. I reported crazy behavior to my manager in an email. They claimed they went to HR. She came back and said there was nothing wrong with the way they have been acting towards me.

    My company stole staff documentation constantly and used it against employees. They stole a recording with evidence of sexual abuse by a manager.

    • @bkp7769
      @bkp7769 Месяц назад +4

      I documented inappropriate sexual comments made to me by my female boss who was living with a boyfriend that beat her, as well as hundreds of other inappropriate, illegal behavior by management. An older female employee who worked like a slave for the company for decades warned me after HR asked whether I had a recording of my manager's comments and advised me not to give it to them. I didn't but had documented everything in emails to myself. I assume management read them as I utilized my laptop at work. I was eventually forced to sign an NDA, given a small check, and laid off. I saved every penny of unemployment, went back to school, and began writing. After I left they combined my job with another job that was performed by an amazing woman from the Philippines in her sixties who rode a bike through the streets of Manhattan to work each day. She wept when I was fired. Others who resented me for standing up for myself cheered in silence at their desks. The older woman who warned me not to share audio or print documentation of the abuse retired and died six months later from cancer.

      I have no intention of wasting my life on such individuals. Three individuals in management responsible for my firing were laid off by the company within a year. My boss, who completed an undergraduate and Master's on the company dime and time while being paid $90, 000 and delegating all of her work, switched departments to save face and left the company within a year. She proudly showed me the homework she was working on before I complained to HR as if I would be pleased.

    🤔 when the employer has policies and procedures which must be followed regarding the situation you mention, straight talk… they’ll say… why didn’t you notify us (HR) about that? Now what?

    • @theantihr
      @theantihr  Месяц назад +9

      Did I say you shouldn’t notify HR? I said don’t share your documentation with them that has nothing to do with notifying them. You don’t need to give them your documentation to notify them. Wisdom is the principal thing as my mother always told me. if they are investigating your claims, they can do it without your documentation they can do it just based on your word and what you tell them, Keep your proof and your documentation for yourself.

    I had a situation where my principal called an investigation on me. I was teaching a class of 1st graders and one child decided to stay outside and play. When I saw that he wasn’t in my classroom when we returned, I asked the children where he was and all of them stated that he was with a counselor. So the whole day goes by and at the end of the day the principal says to me “ you didn’t notice he wasn’t her all day”? He was in kindergarten all day. So I said why wasn’t he returned to class. Why keep him all day?

    I asked HR about me changing to a different team to have a a different manager and they told me to contact my manager about switching teams. Completely useless. I also feel like they told her or she found out bc she made a comment that did not seem like a coincidence.

      @theantihr  Месяц назад +1

      Does your manager have a boss? Is there an HR department? The next step would be to go to one of those entities for advice and assistance. Make sure you document your interactions and send follow up via email.

      Unfortunately, some bosses and managers will support the supervisors they’ve put in place-even there’s wrongdoing uncovered (just like HR-they’re there to protect the company).
      Therefore, do you have a Union rep? Tons of grievances have been won that way-IF you’re trying to remain with the company.
      However, since you see the writing on the wall and remaining is not the flex it used to be-if you’d like to leave, and go to where you’re celebrated, not tolerated, check out Anne Marie’s resources and additional videos and advice, so you can win a severance on your own at out the door.
      Suggest a one-on-one with her if you haven’t already
