Wow, so many dots being connected. I had 5 completely healthy teeth removed as a child, (we couldn’t believe the size of the roots) enlarged tonsils and frequent ear aches along with constant sore throats. I had tonsils removed at around 10.
I’m 25 now, left with extremely small mouth, deep nasolabial folds, thin lips and drooping nose tip. I have a clicking jaw when opened wide enough and headache around once per week. I’m an extremely healthy person, though people mistake me for someone in their 30s so frequently it’s awful.
It’s insane that they’re allowed to do this to us as children, with our parents under the impression that it’s all in our best interest.

Mate, Its not too late at 25. I started around 23 and cured my recessed face with braces and 4 teeth extracted. The solution for adults is hardcore hard mewing consistently everyday. How long it takes depends on how serious it is. Took me over 3 years but worth it.

I'm 65 and had never heard about "mewing" or anything about the importance of tongue position until recently. When I tried it, I could hardly believe the immediate improvement I experienced in my breathing during the day. It was like taking a breath of fresh air. And even though I've only been doing it for a week, it has made a noticeable improvement to my face. All I can do is thank you and your father for this! As I've gotten older, I'd also developed problems in breathing at night. My husband started having to wake me because my snoring was often disturbing his sleep. But it seems keeping my tongue correctly positioned during the day, is also helping me do it subconsciously at night. He says I haven't been snoring the last few nights. The breathing benefit is so wonderful. But an added bonus is the change I see in my face. Of course, I'm too old and it is too late to improve my profile. But there has been a very subtle and nice change. I've always had a sort of droopy, sad looking face. With mewing, it seems to pick up my face, giving me a much more pleasant, smiling type of look. Maybe now people will stop asking me "what's wrong?", when I'm not sad at all. I so wish my mom had known about this years ago. Maybe I'd avoided years of wearing braces, and the unattractive profile that I developed and was always self conscious about. But better late than never. What improvements I have had in such a short time has been great.

    How I hate my face.
Well At least I understand why I grew up to be the ugliest in my family despite having the best face as a child.
    I got a blocked nose(lasted years) >
    Started mouthbreathing >
    Destroyed tongue posture >
Recessed Maxilla + Recessed Mandible > enlarged bumpy nose + Recessed Cheekbones + Fatty cheeks.
    Mouthbreathing ruins your entire face!
The average person with average genes would look like a model if they had proper tongue posture since childhood.

Now I look a bit pretty from the front angle but you can tell from most angles something is somewhat off about my face. I'm starting to mew now and hope I can at least breathe through my nose routinely. 4 days in and it's already easier to breathe through my nose while mewing where at first I sounded like I was snoring. That's enough for me to trust him.

I’ve been mewing for a year and have significantly changed my tongue posture. My oxygen intake has never been BETTER!!! I sincerely believe that my chronic fatigue and chronic depression was caused by LOW OXYGEN LEVELS from improper breathing. Forcing myself to switch from mouth breathing and open mouth chewing to closed mouth with tongue posture against the back and roof palate was the best thing I ever did for myself !!! I used to have facial dysmorphia, no matter how I looked at my face, it looked hideous and misshapen. Everyone said I looked beautiful and fine, but the distortion was so bad that it would hurt me to see my own face. Now that things are growing into their regular proportions, I realized the dysmorphia was being caused by my OWN BRAIN not recognizing the face due it being in its misshapen state from mouth breathing. You not only saved my face but you GAVE ME A QUALITY OF LIFE I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD HAVE!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hey Michael, you can do it. There's lots of good advice out there. Years ago I happen to come across the Buteyko breathing method, and although I don't have asthma, it was very interested when I learned that they use mouth tape to help people keep the mouth closed at night as well as during the day. Since I had always snored, I thought that might help me. I ordered some of their special tape which is quite expensive, but the first morning I woke up after mouth taping, I felt so much better that I knew I would never stop. Eventually I found the much cheaper white micropore tape you can buy in any drugstore. I keep it in my bedside table and tear off about 2 in to cover my mouth. I fold over the end to make it easy to find next time, and I use that folded piece next time. The fold is on the right side of my mouth so I can easily grab it if I need to take it off during the night. That hardly ever happens.
I do agree that at first it is hard to overcome the idea that you won't be able to breathe. I had to remind myself that my nose is designed for breathing and the mouth is just a backup. 🙂 Once I experience the benefit, it was worth the mental exercise. But now there are so many videos about mouth taping. Go over to the High Intensity Health channel and search for mouth taping, and you will find a great interview he did with a dentist whose name I can't recall right now. Probably about 4 years ago. One suggestion is to use just a tiny piece of tape to hold your lips closed in the middle, so you don't have the feeling of covering your whole mouth. That's a great way to get started and some people keep doing it.
One great thing that resulted was that after maybe 2 years of mouth taping at night, I realized that it had retrained me and I no longer mouth breathe during the day. After another year or so I realized that there was more space between my teeth on top, and although I don't necessarily need that, it was interesting to note that having my tongue on the roof of my mouth was now the natural default. Previously I was never able to be comfortable in that position.
I was a typical kid with the problems being talked about here... the high narrow palate, buck teeth, braces with two top teeth removed and the rest shoved back, and a small receding chin which has always been shameful to me because my whole facial structure is unattractive, and now that I'm 57 I have deep wrinkles on each side of my chin and nowhere else. I just have to be thankful that I avoided some of the very severe problems that other people have. 😔 Overall my quality of life has not been very affected.

As someone who's had braces and retainers, there's still a place for orthodontics, but it shouldn't be anyone's first option. I got them to close the gap in my front teeth and fix my bite, but found out my problems were due to pushing the back of my front teeth when I swallowed and having my tongue at the bottom of my mouth, leaving no room for my teeth to sit comfortably. I ended up fixing my swallowing problem while I had braces and wore my retainers for one year with partial mewing (retainers were in the way). With orthodontics alone, I would have had to wear retainers for the rest of my life to avoid relapse. I haven't worn them in months and my teeth are actually better aligned than when I wore them.

Can the IQ deficit from sleep disordered breathing be reversed? I had large tonsils growing up as well as being a chronic mouth breather. Brain fog has always been a normal thing for me and I always just called myself a naturally "tired" person until I realised the deeper issue going on. Putting a stop to my mouth breathing and getting my palate expanded with MSE has made a significant difference to my cognitive function but I am not fully satisfied. Thanks to all of this I have become fascinated with improving brain function through various methods ie exercise, nootropics/supplements (lions mane and creatine), and learning skills/challenging the brain(languages, instruments, etc)

‘Almost’ all damage done to the body can be repaired. For brain I would look into Progesteron,b1, b3 and light therapy + great nutrition and not restricting sugar for some time. Important to give the body LOTS of energy so it can decide it can try to make the system more complex and grow. Even if it will cause short term 6-12 months of fat gain.

I wonder if the aluminum and/or rusty metallic iron filing overload from rusty iron filing "fortified" processed foolds could possibly be playing a role in face drooping, too.

I can’t tell you how pissed off I am that I was forced to get braces as a kid (my teeth were straight too but they told my mom they would shift over time and better to get in front of the problem). Meanwhile, the braces changed the shape of my face. I went from having a perfectly shaped face to now having the middle part of my face somewhat flattened. I honestly believe had I not gotten braces when I did my face would have stayed that really nice shape. And it really irritates me that I had zero say in the matter- and my parents cheaped out and got the cheapest orthodontist literally right out of dental school and I don’t think he had the knowledge of how to preserve face shape while fixing teeth at the same time. Wish I’d had Mike Mew as my doctor instead.

Research Postural Restoration Institute they seem to have a complete answer. The tongue has fascia leading to the feet. Our bodies need a sense of grounding to relax and pump air with our diaphram muscles. When we exhale all the air out of our bodies and sense the ground properly the pelvis remains neutral and the airway is sealed via tongue on palate gently pulling down and providing expansion and maintaining maxillary width. Our ancestors had short, forward, and broad faces. The feet, eyes, tongue, pelvis, jaw all need to sense the environment 360 degrees. 360 degrees expansion diaphragm.

I damaged my teeth following your advice
1)You made a video advising people to tape their mouth at night and when I did this I COULD NOT BREATHE AT NIGH which caused me to grind my teeth and the grinding caused cracks and fissures in my teeth which exposed the dentine making the tooth more vulnerable to the acid in food and acid released bacteria
2)You made a video advising people to eat hard food and again it damaged my teeth because hard food are more likely to crack teeth the crunching is very abrasive on teeth
6 of my teeth were damaged because I was diligent in taking your advice these two pieces of advice DO NOT WORK and DAMAGE TEETH and you do not yet know how restore a damage or lost tooth so it is wrong you still have advice on your channel which can misinform people and damaged their only teeth dramatic in size
However the things you were saying about Tongue Posture was true keeping one’s tongue at the top of the mouth in the Palette does affect their appearance I know this because I grew up with gaps in my teeth and after keeping my tongue in that position for 5 years now my teeth have become slightly straighter and when people see me speak I have gotten less criticism or questions about my teeth as they are clearly less dramatic in size
However this has not changed the symmetry of my face! And I am not upset how my face no becoming more symmetrical I just believe you should not be misinforming your followers about what your advice can and cannot do
Correct Tongue Posture can fix teeth alignment but a man or woman who is ugly will still remain ugly even if they fix their tongue posture as an adult at least ugly in terms of facial symmetry, they can go to the gym to get a better physique and they can use the tongue posture to make their teeth alignment better which ultimately will take many years probably 15 years and not happen over night but their facial symmetry is not in their control
Now another thing you need to delete of your channel is the idea that our diet is the reason people put their tongues in the wrong place!!! This is a lie!!! The reason I put my tongue in the wrong place growing up IS BECAUSE MY PARENTS WERE SMOKERS AND THEY HAD MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS AND WOULD SMOKE AROUND ME AND MY SIBLINGS WHEN WE WERE NEW BORN BABIES which caused us to be unable to breathe and because when I was a young child the information your father discovered about tongue posture was not yet known between ages 5-15 when my face was still some what developing I had no way of fixing this bad habit which ultimately was something my body did for its own survival as my parents were selfish and only cared about their comfortability and didn’t care about the risks of constant smoking around young children (Trust my parents selfish and dumb people)
All I am asking Mike is that you update your information and openly admit that YOU DID NOT FULLY KNOW FOR SURE that 1)Eating hard 2Taping mouth at night 3)Diet worked or were the cause of the wrong tongue posture and those pieces of information were not tested and proven to the same degree as the tongue posture information
I have damaged 6 of my teeth because of those pieces of advice so I would lose respect for you if you do not openly make a video admitting this
However the tongue posture thing is true and as an adult after 5 years I see some improvements with my teeth not my face my teeth and probably after 15 years because I am adult I will see I will have optimally aligned teeth but the face is what it is
My advice to men who are ugly like me (btw I’m a 3 out of 10 I’m not good looking my teeth are very gapped my jaw is at an angle to the right side of my face and my forehead bends in an unaligned way) yeah anyway my advice to ugly men like me is you can’t fix your face naturally once you’re an adult mewing will not change that it will change your teeth alignment but not your face
What you can do dress better dressing well is good, and freshening up so you don’t stink etc and you can go to the gym get a size pack and you get a good hair and when you talk to females just be normal don’t go over boarded trying to be the big man just express your feelings and be honest and be normal there’s not much more you can do Your looks matter and most of us ain’t millionaires so we can’t really pull females with financial bribes unless it’s a prostitute and most of us guys trying to improve our face got into mewing in the first place is because we don’t want to use prostitutes we want to find a female who is physically attractive yes wants us in normal way so we tried to improve ourselves
For women I’d give the same advice going to gym would help obviously don’t try and turn into the She Hulk just do what you need to have a good feminine physique dress well etc be nice to the guy like etc try to make it clear he has a chance with you
However as I was saying if PARENTS SMOKE around their NEW BORN BABIES that is the reason people will put their younger in the wrong position to varying degrees depending on how much the parent smoke around them and for what percent of their first 6 Years on this earth and of course the younger the baby the more likely smoking around them THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BREATHE AND PUT THEIR TONGUE IN THE WRONG POSITION WHOCH WILL EFFECT FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE
I am not angry at you Mike Mew I am not intending to try and sue you or anything I see us all as family we all want to be better looking because they way we look is important especially the way our face looks because you can’t have love without physical attraction and physical attraction is based on the face
I am grateful your father and you tried to father tried to help us and even though I damaged my teeth because of some of your advice you did help me in terms of teeth alignment and tongue posture
But now I am educating you one 1) the reasons people actually end up putting their tongue the wrong position and 90% of time of course not all but most the time it is PARENTS SMOKING AROUND NEW BORN BABIES AND YOUNG CHILDREN and 2)Eating hard food and taping mouth at night will only damage the teeth
    And that’s all
Please update your information and delete any videos with false information and as I will feel unhappy for other who end up damaging their teeth because of it like me
And simply make new videos only saying PUT YOUR TONGUES IN THE CORRECT POSTURE AND PLACE WHEN NOT SPEAKING OR EATING OR SMILING AND DON’T SMOKE AROUND NEW BORN BABIES OR YOUNG CHILDREN
I say this not to upset you but simply to correct you as someone who can potentially guide or misguide hundreds of thousands of people

No it's not mate. I started hardcore mewing in my mid 20s for about 3 years now. It's possible but takes hardcore mewing as bones are stiff compared to a child's you will 100% get results if you discipline yourself to persist for 2-3 years depending on how bad your malloclusion is. I've cured my issue and I wish you could join us.

There are ways to make your maxillary sutures open , like MSE expander facemask.

@@throngus6128 there's two thing according to me , if you have a recessesed lower jaw mewing can do wonders , but if you have recessed upper jaw then it's hard . For that you need to loosen your maxillary sutures and more force to bring the midface forward.

@@Karmik_bhavya I had recessed maxilla, so my journey was extremely tough. I worked hard for 3 years, and had to cope this together with my career, social life and relationship. It was a heavy investment but worth the toil. Cured my sleep disorders, head pains, speech and breathing difficulties. Took awhile for the bones to shift slowly.

I thought this channel was interesting in a positive way, but it seems to be straying more and more into conspiracy theory territory (when talking of intelligence reduction). Get data on your thoughts and prove yourself right! The difference between sending your child to private school and state school is only a matter of money you have; suggesting otherwise is shameful, you are only giving your opposite side evidence against you.
