There are some "Functional Orthondontist's" who do care about jaw alignment, correct bite, palette expansion, etc...the word "functional" is important to know when looking for an ortho.
Go to an orofacial myologist instead - can help with adults sleep apnoea and kids to prevent braces/crowded teeth. It's all about prevention :D . Even if treatment of crooked teeth is SHORTENED I think some myofunctional therapy is highly worthwhile due to the correlation of dental caries and orthodontic braces.
I feel like this is already known by some, I got braces a couple years ago, and my teeth went back to crooked. Years later (now) I want to the orthodontist and he told me its because of my tongue posture and gave me a device to correct my tongue
I’m 27 years old. Mouth breather before I started mouth taping at night. I’ve been mouth taping and consciously keeping good tongue posture for almost 2 months now. I don’t know how on earth at my age and so quickly I have noticed a huge difference in my face in pictures my smile is more symmetrical when studying my lips. I never had crooked teeth and also I was born with only 14 teeth on top and I have the 16 on the bottom. Even my right eyebrow looks higher. Which is amazing because it always looked lower and asymmetrical. This is 2 months! Incredible advice and information! I hope I can keep this up my confidence has soared!
@@iavreN It depends on the person. If you don't have any problem with your facial structure such as downswing mentioned in the video then the differences might occur over years. But if you have a terrible facial structure due to not putting your tongue on top then you might see changes more quick. As your body starts adapting to the new posture. My face had significant changes over 3 months and been mewing for more than a year now and seeing slighter changes to my face but not as much as the first 3 months. My facial shape was pretty bad and my jaw was so much more receded. It's kinda crazy how my jaw looks now compared to my old photos.
@@iavreN That's not true at all. It takes years for significant change in bone structure but if you stick to it and do it correctly you'll see changes in months. Because if you didn't previously mew, you would've had weak and inactive muscles in your face that you now use and they'll make your face look better, and the mouth's upper pallet can change shape extremely easily in a not too long amount of time. I've been mewing for 3 months and when I look at before and after photos I can see that my face is wider, my face is less droopy and eye sockets look a bit bigger, loose jowls have tightened and jaw comes out a bit more forward. Also 3 months ago I had barely any room to fit my tongue on my upper pallet but with some careful thumb pulling my pallet is a lot wider. People have commented on my face saying that I'm glowing up and looking better. This is literally only 3 months, my eye sockets have only started to come out very recently and my jaw is still in early development and still there's already a fair bit of improvement. My breathing is also way better, airways have opened up significantly, sinus issues have gone away. I'm 14 btw so my face is more malleable than an adult but less than a younger child.
What admires me is most of the comments section is normal people being interested in the subject more than people in Orthodontics field asking questions to become better doctors...
Ana Sofia Barreira Dentistas majority are demons evils, they came here to make suffer and cause negatives vibes over the earth, I hate em and I'll never support them. è BR? kk
Im portuguese :) I don't think they're evil, i think its all about pride, afraid of change, afraid of failure, and lazyness in general. Most Orthodontics doctors said to me that facial asymmetry is normal. Yep its normal in way but they say that just to cover their ignorance and trying to give me an idea that beauty is not much of an important matter. IT'S SO WRONG! It's normal to have a eye bigger than the other maybe one cheeck slighty different from the other but when this differences are bigger its not normal and Orthodontics doctors dont care about that. At least most of the Orthodontics doctors that i know. But i dont think it's 100% their fault either. I think this subject of facial development is something that is not taugh in dentistry college, or at least is not having a proper attention. Facial beauty is important, proper facial beauty can make us more healthy can make us more happy, can make us more social, make us more confident with ourselves. Beauty shouldn't be seen as a superficial subject.Orthodontics shouldn't be just fixing teeth, it's should be much more than that...and you guys have the power and knowledge to change that!
Same thing about cardiologists, it's a first world problem. People should eat right and move more, then heart procedures and blood thinner medicine will not be needed.
Maurice Van der Endd it is because of money. Our health care system is set up to pay people for doing things to people thus it Incentivizes research and development for devices and procedures instead of therapies. Thus that is what people in schools dental medical etc learn
Yes, must happen...Joe had several episodes where he talked about similar topics ( facial growth, cavities...) but all concetrated on nutritional deficiencies, it would be mind blowing and eye opener for him, and for sure one of the best podcasts ever.
study to become a doctor because they make lots of money > study to become a doctor because of genuine feeling to help people whenever parents tell their kids to become a doctor because they make money I feel sick... it enforces this kind of money-centric selfishness, why prevents when you can make money fixing stuff? why would I work so hard on research that will only benefit others more than myself?
literally, they see kids as their retirement plan... It would also be nice to be a doctor so instead you can self diagnose, because sometimes it's a little awkward to ask your doctor about idk a foot fungus
I have dentists in my family. I've seen several dentists growing up including orthodontists while getting braces. And only last year, through sheer luck on RUclips I discovered I've had incorrect tongue posture my whole life! "Why didn't anyone tell me this?!" I was shocked and asked all my friends and family about how their tongue rests. I'm glad someone like you is taking on the work. The scientific community, sometimes for no good reason at all, rejects ideas and stands in the way of progress (for ex see Dr. Barry Marshal & H pylori treatment, gut microbiome & chronic conditions etc.). Your perseverance will pay off & your research will eventually be accepted, hang in there & thank you
As someone who got jaw surgery, my tongue wouldn’t rest at the top due to a severe overbite and my tongue posture would curl in because of the lower jaw not having enough space.
@@ldb6382 ? actually space exists, its literally visible with the eye at night. Question is, why do you believe its not what we think it is... seems like you're just a conspiracy theorist for fun
I am just gonna like and leave comment under this video so youtube algorithms promote it further. We need more public attention on this. Keep up the great work, man.
Lilmisscostumedrama that is so sad, my husband has chronic sleep apnea and a nose blockage since he was a child, and it wasn’t discovered until he turned 25. 25 years of this made his teeth crooked, even after braces, and he has some serious problems with his family for not recognizing this while he was a child 😔
@@hehheh1204 Braces stretch your face and elongate it, since by pulling the teeth without fixing the face it forces the face downwards alongside them. If you have extremely fucked up teeth it might be worth getting braces, but if not you might be better off using mewing so that your face develops with a forward projection. Remember, if you have a fucked up face your teeth will return to the same position as before once braces are removed (Since the face caused those issues in the first place, and will therefore cause them again later), but if you fix your face it will pull your teeth into the correct position naturally. It's for this reason that if you ever do get braces, you should do mewing at the same time to counteract the face elongation as it happens, but you will need some mighty strength.
I'm 14 and I'm obsessed with this information! I've completely changed my diet, my habits and I made mewing part of my lifestyle! When I grow up I want to become an orthodontist.
It’s worth it. I’m the same age but my face is way more toned and slightly more masculine looking for a female face after meeting. This is done by choice and I’m really happy with it so far. My face is also way more symmetrical compared to a year ago. Just be patient 👍
@@Telelined it’s a form of tongue posture executed by just holding your tongue to the roof of your mouth and closing your teeth more the amount of times i spelled tongue wrong-
i attended an ENT and they took at look inside, i have bone spurs on those lil delicate bones in my nose. i got beaten alot as a kid. a combo of posture, sinus irrigation and antihistamines have helped but the air passage is still restricted due to the bone growths.
Also, please do a part 2 of this video, where you explain what you need to do to improve your facial structure. A high quality video with all the important bits, so that everyone can send these videos around.
Dr. Mew, your video quality has extremely improved. Very impressive! I've been following you over about 2 years now; I was 16 and I'm now 18. This channel has actually changed my life and my face is so much better than before. Thank you so much for educating me on this. I found out about this channel through someone commenting about you on a RUclips video. I think simple things like that is what will get more people to know about your channel and avoid the ignorance most of the world has of facial structure. Your channel has also gotten much bigger than ever before but I still think you will be able to read a lot of comments from your subscribers for advice and topics to cover. Thank you again!
Some changes include : cheeks pretty much went away, much stronger cheekbones, stronger jawline. Much better head and body posture. Only thing that's bothering me is my chin is pretty far back and my skin is saggy under my chin. I hope that keeping the tongue on the roof of my mouth will make it hold itself but I've been losing hope so far
This guy is honest. He's really trying to help people and change the health industry. I have started following his advice and that of others with the same message and my health problems have started to reverse. A big LONG list of health issues. It's truly been life changing and I will forever be grateful.
As a medical student who just learns about anatomy and common pathology, I find this incredibly interesting... the theory behind this makes sense in practice! Please continue to make these videos
agreed i've always wondered why we have so many more problems with our bodies than ancient people but i've only thought it was because of more sugar in our diet
I never knew this was a real medical thing but when i was 15 and became aware of my social anxiety and mouth breathing and lazy resting face, and started to consciously lift my chin and lift my eyebrows and got some nose spray for my stupid tight nose channels, my face totally changed. If you an introvert and you're always looking down at a drawing pad and not thinking about how you breathe or how you communicate with your face.. well you're gonna look like that... and then it determines how people view you and who you think you are... Not that there's anything wrong with being that, I'm still a proud introvert and spend most of my time drawing, but it fucking sucks when people take one look at you and decide you're stupid or asocial. I'm glad i got to reverse some of it and found out I'm not completely incompetent socially i was just in a bad circle.
Starseed-bb So interesting. The environments or energy were surround ourselves with and expend have to do with the way we appear and look as human beings.
i breathe through my mouth even though its closed when i sleep and wake up, my family tells me its open while im asleep. I hate this and it scares me deeply because my nose is constantly blocked due to my allergy of cats and um i have 3 cats... anywaYs they are my family and i cant get rid of them obviosly but i want to stop mouthbreathing. i have tried nasal sprays and oh god they dont help a bit. can anyone help me?!!
The Orthotropic principles have helped both of my children already. My son would mouth breath at night due to allergies. His face started to grow longer and his chin receded. No medical provider ever pointed out the problem of mouth breathing or facial growth, although I took him to many specialists for allergies and dental care. Finally, I came across Dr. John Mew's interview as I was looking to an alternative for surgery. We resolved his allergies so he could breathe with his mouth closed. Within a month of starting myofunctional therapy, his tongue was (mostly) up. It's still a training struggle. Then he started chewing hard food every day (raw veggies, dried mango, Falim gum, and even silicone chewies.) He looked dramatically different just by getting his tongue up, then the chewing was a dramatic change. He's proud of his jawline for the first time in his life. All of the orthodontists that I consulted recommended some combination of braces, extractions or surgery. Before finding Dr. Mew's work, he had braces and was preparing for surgery. Braces retracted his maxilla and flattened his face. He started having severe TMJ pain. I finally had the braces taken off mid-treatment, and his TMJ pain resolved within 2 days. I am so sad and angry that people are profiting from harming our children. We need to support Dr. Mew's effort to make parents aware that they can help their children through simple habits. There is no money to be made in espousing chewing, tongue positions and good posture. Both John and Mike Mew are doing this to help children they have never met - and at a tremendous personal cost. They have my gratitude and support.
Just to give you guys hope. I've always had bad face structure and crooked teeth. I'm 24 and I've been mewing for a year exactly (and not very seriously, only when I remember) and it does work! The changes happened quickly in the first few months, my face widened and my jawline looks way better. Overall i became healthier and more attractive, I get positive compliments from people around me even with my clear underbite. Now I want to start mewing harder and better. With the tongue fully at the back (because it still blocks my airway)
Keep working bro! just make sure the tongue does all the work when swlalowing!!! watch his gum video. or bolus chewing.... u chew piece of gum then put chewed piece on tongue and press up
Wait, are there people who can put their tongue at the top of their mouth without it blocking their airway ?? because I can never do it all the way even though I've been a nose breather for a long time. So is it possible to change this ?
@@chickenbroth5 I doubt it. I got double jaw surgery and now my tongue touches the top and my breathing is improved. You can’t cut corners if the jaw is misaligned all around.
What a pleasure to listen to a medical professional who looks at issues deeply and from their root instead of just trying to sell temporary fixes. Excellent 👏👏

zock agreed! Especially with what the tongue posture is when it's pressed the roof of mouth and maybe a swallowing animation to showcase exactly what it should look like
I have a friend who fixed her underbite by consciously not biting down fully when she was about 9 years old. she cured her own underbite lol what a genius
francois bonbon wait but I thought biting down fully and clenching your teeth cured underbites? But she didn’t bite down fully and it cured her underbite? I don’t get it.
@Raigou Nah when you have resting face some peoples front teeth clash and theres pressure furthering underbite. Shes not talking about chewing food in any special way :DD
@@iSugarHeart As someone who was a mouth breather most of my life (resting tongue, open mouth, etc) I had a relatively bad underbite. I had braces for two years which got rid of it, which worked, but of course only for so long as I wear them and the following retainer. So I got rid of them and so far from all the advice I've heard on orthotropics it just seems like I'm gonna have to live with my underbite lol. Plus, isn't the clenched jaw, tongue-to-roof technique meant to fix overbites, not underbites?
@@dandyspacedandy Im not experting on mewing. However in theory if you keept your tongue in correct position in your mouth the rest of muscles on your neck and head must re-arrange with time. And any muscle can be trained even brain. All im saying is there are sceptical people who talk crap without trying. But the ones who try usually arent disappointed.

I knew I wasn't crazy!! I finally figured out why I look so different from my identical twin!! I had a deviated septum from a broken nose and I was a mouth breather when I was a kid.The break wasn't bad and we still looked alike after it happened. I had braces as a teen, teeth got straightened but my jaw started to pop at random when talking or chewing after getting them off. I've been mewing for a week and there's already a visible difference to my teeth and jawline straightening. Despite the strange sensation of teeth moving the feeling of tension relief on the roof of my mouth is fucking orgasmic.
Wow same story, had braces but my left jaw side would crack or make a loud pop sound when really extending my mouth every so often. This new year, I’m just going to focus on correcting my tongue posture and see any changes.
What about the permanent retainers they put on your front teeth (lower or upper) after you were done with the braces. Did they not interrupt or prevent the jawline correction or cause pain due to teeth movement? Please let me know your experience
Same! I also have a identical twin and we also look so different now, even taking a pictures! I figured out that my twin is a mouth breather and she also rest her tongue in the bottom of her mouth, thanks to this Vid, I'll tell her to slowly change her tongue posture and also her mouth breathing.😂
Yeah... he says that it's *EASY* up to 25, but possible to do it for your entire life. You can fix it now. You just have to change your behavior comprehensively - it's just not going to be *easy*.
"Who makes money, a dietitian or a liposurgeon?" Damn straight, I am an RD and this is truth. I've never made more than $40k salary even after 6 yrs of school. The employees in my organization won't even take advantage of FREE consultations offered by our department dietitians! So I am working up to going into real estate instead. Might as well make some money if people don't want to be helped!
I have been mewing since I was 15 (when I found this channel) and am 19 now. My face looks completely different, much better, I breathe better, my jawline is more prominent, and although I developed an overbite in childhood from mouth breathing and poor posture, I still am able have a healthy looking face today. The only thing is I have to chew with the overbite, I can't change my chew. And mewing has caused a bit of teeth grinding.
Should be taught in primary and secondary schools when kids are still growing. Or at least info be given to parents. Hopefully your message would be spread asap.
This is my first time watching his videos and i usually don’t leave a comment even if i like a video but right when he said fixing things makes money and preventing things doesn’t, i paused the video, liked it, subscribed and now writing this comment. It’s SOOOO RARE to see such and honest and selfless person in this world. Kudos to you man!
We need more doctors/orthodontists like you who understand that it’s not always about making money, but first and foremost treating patients as a priority
Been mewing for several weeks now and I'm now breathing fully through my nose. So thankful for your content and lucid explanations.. Keep up the great work!
damn the symptoms he describes are literally my life. stuffed nose and crooked teeth and long face :(. i heard about mewing before thought it was like a scam until i hear the man himself speak LOL oops. i love his clear dedication towards improving public health and making it more accessible for everyone!!!
this is relevant for all health related areas. medical policy should never be influenced by commerce or profit, else we all pay the price. investing in prevention is key, rather than fixing things once its gone wrong
Yes and no. Be careful about doctors, but give more freedom to health insurers! The former profit if their customers are sick; the latter profit if their customers stay healthy. Capitalism optimizes very effectively, but only for the exact job you give it. Therefore, the flow of money should favor those whose interests align with the general public. It's silly to blame capitalism when it's used in a nonsensical way. That's like watching someone smash a window with a hammer, and then blaming the hammer and calling for a ban on hammers.
Signed the petition!! Your knowledge has changed my face drastically through chewing more, palatal expansion, and proper tongue/oral posture! THANK YOU DR. MEW! 💗
Natalie Marie hi Natalie, how did you achieve palatal expansion? Did you have to wear an expander that splits the palate open over time? I hope you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I'm 32 and worried that I am too old for facial change and have had too many teeth removed.
Lilmisscostumedrama Hey, no you definetly still have time! Actually the device I used (and still use) widened my palate, fixes any malocclusion, and straightens your teeth. I highly recommend it, do some research on ‘myobrace’, theres 3 stages and it helps you place your tongue on the roof of your mouth. It was a game changer for me... I used to have a narrow smile, an overbite and recessed jaw and now my teeth are wider, I have a normal bite and they’re all straight. Each stage takes 6-8 months. I’m still on the second stage. Lmk if you have any other questions!
This video had me on the verge of tears. Why? Dr. Mike connected the dots between my lifelong facial insecurities and my sleep disorder, and simultaneously gave me hope to do something about my situation. I no longer have to just be grateful I have a face while secretly struggling to accept that I am bound to a fate dictated solely by genetics. I can be grateful AND be empowered, knowing that I am more of an agent in the direction my body takes than I had ever previously imagined. Maybe I can prevent the grief I faced in the lives of others, of those whom I love. Dr. Mike also illustrated a common thread in the state of the medical community, academia, politics, and in greater society. It is a sad reality, and quite amazing, yet not all that shocking, how much the sense of scarcity can bring about the worst in us, of which greed is particularly prominent and long lived. But at the same time, Dr. Mike makes vividly clear the conviction shared by both he and his father. It is evident by their years of research, dedication, and actions. The two share much of their knowledge freely, although they surely deserve value in return for the greater value provided. Dr. Mike calls upon us to combat misinformation and ignorance even if by simply sharing a different point of view. That’s the way I see it. To have an honest conversation so that we may ask questions-have an open mind. That is what the world truly needs. This is a genuine man with a genuine will to do good for others. How could I not be moved?
This is powerful, insightful video. I instantly felt a difference in my breathing when I put my tongue on roof of mouth and clenched my teeth together. I’m gonna try my best to reprogram my habit of cranial facial dystrophy. Thanks so much doctor. Definitely subscribed
Thank you. You saved my face, I have had braces two times in my life I'm 23 now the teeth were becoming crowded again. I've been mewing for about a year now and people think my face changed alot and became more attractive, they think it's due to plastic surgeries!. If you need participants in a clinical trial or study to prove the point, I'm happy to join, I live in the UK.
Courageous, intelligent, compassionate, and passionate doctor. I feel his thoughts will be translated into future health care. At least, I hope so. Brilliant man!
Wow! We need more humans like this, you are incredibly helpful for all of us! I always used to feel uncomfortable looking at photographs of me or viewing my side profile. When i found your channel, I did also find an answer to all of my questions. Eversince I am mewing, feeling healthier and can't thank you more!
I’ve always been self conscious about my face I didn’t know there was a name for what I have. You are the first person ive seen on the internet figure out what the deal with this is. I now have a strong desire to change my face. Thank you for your knowledge.
Umesh Maniyar I read the book “6 foot tiger 3 foot cage” by Dr. Felix Liao. The book explains what the problem with deficient jaws is and how to fix it. I traveled to Dr.Liao’s office and was treated by him using an oral appliance that makes your jaw wider every night. After one year of wearing the appliance, my life has improved incredibly. I have A LOT more energy everyday. I started having so much energy, I couldn’t believe it. I am more confident and less anxious. I can actually focus now, and for longer times. I am not depressed anymore, I stopped feeling so angry all the time and I stopped having so many negative thoughts all the time. Bad things that happen in life or bad things somebody says, stopped bothering me. My looks also improved, a little. I believe my face aesthetics would have improved even more if I had done the treatment as a teenager or child. I was treated at 22.
I remember I saw a guy making a video about this, That breathing with am open mouth makes your face go down And I also remember that all of the comment section was like "he doesn't have real proof, there is no medical proof of that" And now I see why, because like you said, preventing the problem doesn't earn money... This is amazing how our world works, I hope people will see more of this and will learn to prevent the problem themselves. Thank you.
This needs to get more attention! Had this video in my recommended section and I am happy to have clicked the link. It's on us to spread this information around so let's go!
I am so thankful for this video, I got braces when I was 15 and my face has never been the same. My whole face shape changed. when I smiled it never completely looked right with my face. Everyone says Im crazy even professionals but I just want my face back. This video had confirmed it all and Im so grateful.
i had braces when i was in my teens and i wished my doc would have known or cared about this. i feel nredibly insecure about my face, especially my jaw and forward coming nose, and i always beliefed this was simply how i was born but couldn't reeally understand, why i looked nothing like my parents. now i understand and i wish i got the right treatment/prevention earlier...i also always considered plastic surgery which is obviously not the best... thank you for this informative video! i hope awareness spreads even further!
This all makes so much sense. I had felt naturally inclined to “solutions” like the ones you described, but I didn’t have any “evidence” or reason to go in that direction. It’s crazy how much we have to unlearn because of our society. I have always had terrible snoring, blocked airways, and had to mouth-breathe. I hated how my face sloped, and wasn’t beautiful pronounced. I wondered if there were anything in the world I could possibly do. I just decided to start trying to breathe through my nose primarily. I made the conscious effort to no longer mouth breathe. I can’t really control yet what I do while I sleep, but I make to effort while awake. Looking in the mirror the other day, I thought to myself that my facial structure looked evermore so pronounced, and less sloped. I thought that it must just be wishful thinking because “surely nose-breathing for the summer couldn’t have had that much of an effect”... This video confirms my hunch. How can I thank you enough for sharing this information and truly trying to help fellow people!! Please continue your work. It helps me to live an easier, more pleasant and, Lord-willing, longer life!
Sir you are so right on this one. This is very important topic and should be regonized all over the world. Simply finding your work have had the biggest impact to my life for sure. My face is really getting better and you have saved me from all kinds of problems.
I seriously wish I knew this when I was younger. I have realized overtime my facial structure has changed to what u were showing. And now I realize that my face began changing to that when i began have major allergies that would make me breathe out of my mouth. When I have kidsI will tell them to always maintain good tongue posture.
Hi Dr. Mew, I just want you to know how much you have affected my life, my future children’s lives and the lives of any kids or teenagers that I believe need a pep talk. Thank you for this vast amount of knowledge that you have available for anyone to see. I am going to be 21 soon. I have give or take a few years to make a change. Your advice along with my own self belief in myself has shown me I can be beautiful. I will sign this petition cause every day there are millions of kids who are getting bullied who otherwise would not have been if they listened to the messages of old. God bless ya mate!
Interesting how learning that humans swallow however many spiders during their lifetime while sleeping motivated me to breathe through my nose during my childhood while trying to sleep and probably prevented me from having such issues.
So glad I found this channel! I have noticed over the years how my face has changed and as the years have gone on I’ve begun to hate the way I look. In my young teens I was always called pretty etc but as I’ve aged I’ve noticed how those comments have slowly gone away, to the point where I’ve had comments about how my face looks negatively. I’m now 25 and if I can make improvements then great, even preventing anything getting worse is better than nothing. I’ve been trying so hard to breathe through my nose and have made great progress. Orthotropics will revolutionarily change the world as we know it. This video is truly inspiring, I wish only the best for Dr.Mike, I hope he wins his court case
@@ayad3834 oh hey! I mean, potentially? I did get into the habit of sticking my tongue at the top of my palate, so if that's what mewing is (I don't have a full memory of what this vid's about) I've been doing it fairly regularly since then. Let's see, I will say that I reckon I got a bit hotter-- I MEAN, have "improved" my "facial posture" - in the past year (lord this is weird, but I guess it's... science..) Whether that's specifically because of the "mewing" or simply that quarantine and I happen to get along like a house on fire (or the hidden third option: it's all self-delusion), I can't really say. I'm meeting up with an ex this weekend for the first time in about ten months, so I'll get their opinion on my evolving uh "facial posture" lol. The raised monitor definitely helped with my neck aches though, so can 10/10 recommend that.

I have a question, idk if anyone still reads this. But my tongue always rests on the roof of my mouth and I breath through my nose. Mouth rbeathing to me feels weird. BUT when I sleep my mouth always falls open! why? Is this normal? I dont snore and I still nose breath while it falls open.
If you look at people that are natural mewers, and look Beautiful, no one has tell them how to do it, they found out how to breath with most comfort, if you breathe trough your mouth at night, that means that you need to find better pose of toungue. You can put your toungue at the roof of your mouth in 35 ways, only one will make you beautiful.
The people you treated do look a lot better, I must say. What you are doing seems to be helping rather than hurting like so many orthodontists do. You are a hero of teeth.
Thank you! I’m going to ask my son to start mewing. He has a deviated septum, his pediatrician says it’s fine. My son is a mouth breather and has terrible overbite and small lower jaw. He’s 11 so I believe he still has a chance to develop properly!!
This man has been ousted from the Orthodontic/Dentistry community, had his license to practice yanked. He is making a better living just fine with speaking engagements. He is brilliant! I have only been "Mewing" since I watched a video about it in January 2018, so, a year, now. It's making differences. Slowly, yet, it's changing my face shape, firming the skin under my chin & neck.
Everything you say makes 100% sense and I am seeing more and more information out in the world on MEW- my orthodontist told me at 12 years old there was no point to getting braces since I talked and swallowed with my tongue against my teeth and my tongue would push them forward again and essentially undo the work of the braces in a few years. I decided to get braces at age 32 about and now at 38 I can see my teeth moving forward once again, never having known how to effectively change my tongue position and movement when swallowing/resting tongue position (definitely been on the lower part of my mouth for the longest time). I suffer snoring and blocked airway and nose. My teeth are bad. This is all so great and eye opening! Wonderful work please keep it up to help others and raise awareness. I would have been so happy to watch this 30 years ago.
I feel very inspired this Man standing up against the established system and really giving his all to make a difference. We are grateful to you Dr. Mew 🙏

Thanks for this motivating comment!
Wow I am 27 too, your gave me hope. *Thanks for sharing this* ❤️
mewing takes up to 4 years to see actual facial changes, what are you talking about lmao
I suspect you mean “amazes” rather than “admires.”

I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU ARE SAYING SOMETHING I TRIED TO TELL MY PARENTS YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS FORCED INTO FIXED BRACES AND LOST LOADS OF TEETH!
That truly sucks, I'm sorry. At least you know now rather than never.
Wait? Getting braces had caused you to lose teeth? I want to get braces one day but my greatest fear is loosing or missing teeth.

If you an introvert and you're always looking down at a drawing pad and not thinking about how you breathe or how you communicate with your face.. well you're gonna look like that... and then it determines how people view you and who you think you are... :00000
Starseed-bb I totally relate to this. What did you do to fix it?
Do braces with extraction really flatten face please reply

VandroiyIII great point! and also, laws should be structured to direct capitalism in the right way, to distribute wealth in the right way etc.
Most eye opening thing I’ve seen in a while. Thank you sir
100% serious.. Want to become my waife?
Wow!
We need more humans like this, you are incredibly helpful for all of us! I always used to feel uncomfortable looking at photographs of me or viewing my side profile. When i found your channel, I did also find an answer to all of my questions. Eversince I am mewing, feeling healthier and can't thank you more!
As someone who is very invested in their face, I value this type of information immensely.🌹
I'm so happy to be viewing, "non-mainstream" material! Thank you, Dr. Mew!!!
I’ve always been self conscious about my face I didn’t know there was a name for what I have. You are the first person ive seen on the internet figure out what the deal with this is. I now have a strong desire to change my face. Thank you for your knowledge.
What changed in past 3 years
Umesh Maniyar I read the book “6 foot tiger 3 foot cage” by Dr.
I remember I saw a guy making a video about this,
That breathing with am open mouth makes your face go down
And I also remember that all of the comment section was like "he doesn't have real proof, there is no medical proof of that"
And now I see why, because like you said, preventing the problem doesn't earn money...
This is blowing my mind
I admire you doing this despite those who are not interested OR think you’re affecting the profession by giving preventive advice
I can't believe this video has been on RUclips since 2018 and I'm only discovering it now..
Same:(
"Fixing things makes money, preventing things doesn't make money" What a quote 12:55
Sir you are so right on this one. This is very important topic and should be regonized all over the world. Simply finding your work have had the biggest impact to my life for sure. My face is really getting better and you have saved me from all kinds of problems.
How old are you?

@@MMLABS the jaw gum you mentioned is it just chewing gum? Sorry if it’s a silly question. So gums help?
Doctor this is gold, what you're doing it's truly amazing. I'm very grateful! I hope this gets the spotlight
Just a man contributing in a healthy society without any greed of his own !! Respect 🙌
I also am going to put a comment if this promotes the video, hopefully this reaches out to more people, great video sir.
Orthotropics will revolutionarily change the world as we know it. This video is truly inspiring, I wish only the best for Dr.Mike, I hope he wins his court case
I lifted my monitor all the way up in order to fix my facial posture, gonna try this mewing thing, wish me luck bois.
Any results fam?
@@J_Kwan if there has been results then that’s really good bro, I’ve seen a bit myself but really slowly, I’m going to start chewing gum as well, falim gum because it’s really hard, and hopefully I get some results too bro, and I’m literally random nigga on the internet, but do you think it’s a good idea meeting up your ex, as in you wouldn’t catch feelings again, because it would be a ugly feeling man, especially if you’ve decided to not give it another chance
@@J_Kwan how did the meeting go?

I have a question, idk if anyone still reads this. But my tongue always rests on the roof of my mouth and I breath through my nose. Mouth rbeathing to me feels weird.
BUT when I sleep my mouth always falls open! why? Is this normal? I dont snore and I still nose breath while it falls open.
Mouth taping ( micro pore) tape across the lips prevents the mouth from opening during the night
@@Danny-ig6ik Mike Mutzel and interviewees of High intensity health on YT advise mouth taping at night.
@@ac.a101 I am beautiful tho
@@RapunzelASMR of course you are❤️
Dr. Mew hero of our century!!!
He’s 11 so I believe he still has a chance to develop properly!!
over bite and small lower jaw sounds like a Malocclusion, they can be fixed, definitely take him to an orthodontist!
You are one of my highlights that I found in 2019, Mike Mew.
I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve heard about this. Implementing immediately! Thank you
Everything you say makes 100% sense and I am seeing more and more information out in the world on MEW- my orthodontist told me at 12 years old there was no point to getting braces since I talked and swallowed with my tongue against my teeth and my tongue would push them forward again and essentially undo the work of the braces in a few years. I would have been so happy to watch this 30 years ago.
thank you very much for your amazing job. You and your father are heroes, the information that you spread are so important and life changing.
He’s got a strong jawline so I believe him
I will get rid of my snoring no matter what it takes
Update: its gone, I have used an app to track it and I never snore anymore!!!
The feeling of absolute betrayal for not having been taught this, compromising both my health AND ALSO MY GOOD LOOKS
Your pfp😭😭😭😭
Compared to earlier videos this is so well articulated
I feel very inspired this Man standing up against the established system and really giving his all to make a difference. We are grateful to you Dr. Mew 🙏
