THANK YOU SO MUCH. I was only trying to figure out why my gcmm file wouldn't load onto my wii homebrew app, and you explained you only had to move a specific file from part of the downloaded file. I appreciate the help and can now go back to installing swiss 😆
I just modded my wii last night on a whim and omg there's so much to learn 😢 Thank you for making this video, though! Seriously, I was going to throw a fit if I had to lose another save file from some "corrupted memory card" bs again.
When you added GCMM to your wii sd card I paused and peeked at all the programs you had, since I was curious. I saw "gba-link-cable-dumper" which I assume is used to make backups of GBA games. Now I feel stupid for buying a GB Operator solely for GBA backups. Ah well, you live and learn. Thanks for the video btw, I haven't tried it out yet but looks simple enough.
Yeah it can be used to dump GBA games/BIOS through a GC port equipped Wii but is definitely one of the slower methods of doing so. Dedicated PC hardware is the easiest way to go for sure.
@@ArchadesGames Ah you're right, the speed would be a factor too and at least the GB Operator connects directly to a PC. Its good that option still exists anyways.
a couple of years ago, after i played one of my GC games on the Wii, the GC memory card was completely erased. been trying for months how to recover all my game data(from the past 10 years), but no luck.
Question, when you raw backup your GC memory card(s) and it's a RAW file, can you just copy the file directly on to the saves folder and Nintendont just automatically finds the save tied to that game? Because let's just say I already have a save for Melee ( or any game) on the EMUGC and I just happened to have a RAW backup of my Phys. MC that has an older save from the same game. Would NTD find them both if I drag/drop my backup into the saves folder or would I have to go and delete said game save first and Dolphin the save files that way?
Yes, but i kinda forgot since i did it months ago but from what i remember you download gcmm and once you’re in you go to the file in your sd card where your nintendont saves are in then you convert them to your actual memory card. Its better to search up how to do it because thats how i got it to work.
I just got this Datel action replay 2007, and to get it to read my sd card, it just has to be 2GB or smaller, right? You don’t have to fully mod your console, as in take it apart and do such stuff to it? And a regular Transcend SD as long as it’s 2GB or less?
@@ArchadesGamesthank you so much, sir. That’s all I needed. So glad I DON’t have to mod my console after all, just need a regular 2GB SD card, and not the SDHC one, got it! Thanks so much, again!!
Is there a way to change around characters from other memory cards to other memory cards on pso? I have 2 memory cards me and my brother share but would like to move all my characters on one card instead of being split..
This may sound crazy, but would this method of backing up and restoring saves allow someone to inject Pokemon into Colssseum / XD for their post game battle content? Backing up the save, opening it in PKHeX, making your edits, exporting it back into the MC and going from there?
@@ArchadesGames Incredible, my other plan was to inject Pokémon into my GBA games and trading them over but this seems like a lot less effort. Thank you!

Let's break the brick wall! It's marathon day today!
Very grateful for your support my friend
And if GCMM seems to freeze when doing a backup ALL, how to we handle that? Thank you for the help, you're the best.
I enjoyed Megaman 1 with my brothers yesterday. Just wanted to let you know :)
Awesome to hear! Glad it made it there ok 😊

Yup

Dumb question
Is it necessary to activate memory card emulation activated to proceed with the backup?

How do you convert nintendont emulated memory files to an actual gamecube memory card?
Did you ever find out how

My file keeps defaulting to a .gci format, did I do it right? (I’m on Mac)
GCI is fine
do you guys know it GCCM works with GC2SD adapter?

Yes, and yeah only 2 gig or under for that one.

Characters aren't stored individually so it isn't something that I think is possible

Yes that's a use case for it

7:06 for the Wii version
is it possible to format a memorycard thats 256mb or 512mb in size?
Never tried any of those card sizes as I do not trust them to actually work.
dang i was hoping someone would have found these useful but now im stuck with a corrupted 128mb card that wont format@@ArchadesGames

can you transfer your dolphin saves to your GCN?
Yes you can
@@ArchadesGames did you already do that in the video or do you want to explain? i had my data corrupted and want to learn how to do that
I haven't covered it
