"I'm not aware of that statement", "I don't recall making that statement", all variations of this, should be met with a minimum of a $1000 fine each time such question avoidance is made, especially when it's blatantly obvious that the person is lying. What's the point of these hearings if people can just obviously lie and avoid questions by claiming they don't know? It's a waste of everyone's time. Plausible deniability is evil.

Dick Durban is one of Illinois politicians that I moved out of Illinois. The state I lived in for 64 years.He is a terrible person!
I also moved out of Illinois 22 years ago, wish that I had never been transferred there, 15 years in Illinois felt like a prison sentence.

How do you know he's an immigrant?
If you say it's because of how he looks, then you've just proven why immigration enforcement scares immigrant communities. Because there is no difference, visually, between an immigrant that looks like him, vs the 2nd generation of immigrants. Making even legal immigrants who are citizens, hold Green card or a permanent resident card, less likely to report a crime to law enforcement, or cooperate as a witness, because they fear being profiled and deported.
And yes, that happens.

I'll give you an example. I'm a registered Republican, and a few years ago I became nearly disabled. (I can walk, but it's a struggle.) So I applied for mail-in ballots. And Cook County ALWAYS mails me my ballots. They're very good about it. But they arrive 4-5 days after the election. ALWAYS. (So I end up having to go to the polls anyway.)

I went to school with a gal in Community College that was brought into this country at 2 years old The first gal from Mexico I met in school; was brought here at 2 years old and was brought up just as my children were. She never even realized she wasn't legal until she was a teen. I also lived on a border state that allowed children to come to our schools with a 2 hour bus ride each way. Sanctioned by our government. I truly believe that these kids should be allowed to become naturalized citizens after forgoing the steps that those take for naturalization because they have grown up as American Citizens.

If you're on the board of an organization, you should probably know what that group is saying because your name is on it.
Immigrating to the USA is a privilege given or not by the American people through the American government, it’s not a right, and immigrants do not have a say about how or why that privilege should be given to every and each individual. Giving or denying the right to immigrate to this country is up to the will of the American people and their government, not the foreigners.
I just feel grateful that privilege was given to me many years ago, and I feel loyal and compelled to have the decency to showing gratitude.

John Kennedy is unquestionably the hardest working senator in the country. He is out there doing yeoman's work, in the trenches to exposes injustice and wrongdoing and has given a massive effort to vet judges up for appointment.
