I've been as excited since I've seen the first prototypes on the road. I'd love to own a Jimny. But there's this Toyota 86 in the Garage that I don't want to sell. :-D
Not if you want a capable 4x4. The Duster has no low range box and runs a car drivetrain and suspension. It might surprise you how much higher you sit in the old model Jimny compared to most SUVs because the Jimny is a genuine body on chassis setup, making it a scaled down truck rather than a jacked up car. And there are plenty of snorkel kits available, including one on the Suzuki official accessories brochure AFAIK - along with a limited slip differential if you're not satisfied with the ABS based torque vectoring it comes with out of the factory.
@@CarlHeinHamel YES! In these days it’s snowing a lot, perfect car in these conditions: narrow streets with a lot of snow on the ground. It behaves very well. It never loses traction and climbs perfectly, without using low range gears. Moreover it has the stock M+S tires, not the proper winter ones. The other car we have is a 2016 mk7 VW Golf TDI 4MOTION (4wd) with winter tires, there’s no match: the way the torque is delivered to the four wheels is not comparable to the Suzuki AllGrip Pro system. Jimny is the third Suzuki with all wheel drive we had, after a SX4 (2006-2016) and a Swift (2011-2019); very well done Suzuki! Cheers from a snowstorm!
Since I've started tuning in your channel years ago I've enjoying presentation and I keep watching your videos often, and ya what a come back by Jimny ...
Owned what we called a Suzuki Samurai 4X4 here in Canada & was the best car I've ever owned, just bullet proof... hope the new product are still built as tough ;-)
Jimny provide simplicity and deliver what it promise you.. it's never about speed or luxury interior, we don't need it, we want some fun.. and fun is what it delivers
I have the 2006 version. As you will see in my channel I take it cross country every week and sometimes quite extreme trails. Off road, it is AWESOME. The new version shown is awesome too BUT the Jimny has always been great.
The new version has ABS driven braking of spinning wheels, so it'll still keep going even with no grip on a wheel on both axles, so the new version will get further off road than the old version, which is a rare thing in the 4x4 market these days. Most of them have got more and more compromised with each iteration to make them better on road where the vast majority of expensive 4x4s go. I think on Land Rovers, they're on average 7 years old before they go off road, so probably on their 3rd owner...
Really liking the new Jimny, although somehow a mini 4x4 bakkie could be had if they redesigned it just a touch (already rendered a 6x6 version) I would be first in line to buy.
what alot of ppl doing the walk around do not mention..is the back seats do not need to be push all way down. you have a click to put it up right to fit book bags small luggage..an if pause the when talkin about the boot. the holes in the back allow an attachment to put a shelf.
he is right, automatic are cheaper in this days, why? the industry wants everybody to drive auto, because they can install the new crappie system, auto everything, so the vehicle will decide for you.
Right ! Exactly what I thought ! When they made the new Renegade I thought it would be like this Jimny, with a bigger size. And it's an ugly thing that doesn't share anything with the old Renegade...
Just like Formula Vee and Formula Ford, we could have a Jimny Cross Cup. Similar to Rallycross, but more dirt and bumps in a more affordable suv package.
Basic architectural policy of Suzuki, Toyota and Subaru is to use proven, time tested technologies at an affordable price range. In this way you would never going to be out business as top-tiers disappear due to natural causes and these kinds survive elements-of-time.

The first off road Suzuki (I think it was the LJ) was 1970 and the first G Wagen was 1979 - that's why 1970 is written on the decals on the Jimny in the video, so the G Wagen is more like the offspring of the SJ...
I too could quite easily afford a G-class, but would prefer the Jimny! Mercedez Suck for reliability, Suzuki on the other hand are very reliable. Plus the Jimny would piss all over the G. I have the new all grip Escudor actually, a great car both on and off road. I might buy this Jimny too as a play toy for off roading and playing in deep snow!

And tough af. I'd love an old grand Vitara though
Renault or Dacia cheaply made horrible cars ( quality control ) as if factory had bad management when they were issuing cars out of doors.
My father has already ordered one: top spec, automatic, jungle green color (the military one). Perfect car here in the Italian Alps. Great video

Small, economical, cute, reliable, practical, light, go anywhere.

Boot space which it doesn't have

Suzuki needs to come back to the US. We are in dire need of this little truck. Maybe a turbo version that can handle the highway here.
It can handle it without a turbo.
you should take the ramp and back flip it :D

Nice idea for a review. Something fresh. Well done
since this car came out till now (April 2019), I have only seen it on the road once...
twice :P
Pity I cannot use it as a family car but I do like it a lot even the previous one was best
A tough little beast. Wish it would come to India too.
It looks more like the original which is good. Also a bit of Jeep and Bronco in there too.
I think you got the prices mixed up, Auto is 320K and the manual is 300K

Hi +Carsdotcoza Please post a review on Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Good video,
Your pricing is not correct, it's R319 000 for the auto and R299 900 for the GLX manual
Would you please review the latest model of Jimny
Love the car review, the car is amazing definitely will buy one but don’t copy Jeremy Clarkson when talking inside the car
after watching this i wouldnt mind having one, someone donate me this car :D
@fukthegoog is that the best you can come up with ? Lmfao
The Suzuki Baleno comes with a touchscreen as standard, but it's no where near as good as the new one in the Jimny
Pricing is incorrect, the manual GLX is R300K. Also, no one buys a Jimny for boot space :D
You should be the next Top Gear presenter
Did you fit any extra’s or was this standard? What is the fuel consumption
I'd change the gear ratios, squeeze in a Prochrger for some top end poke.
Probably get a Mercedes body Kit on it😅
Finally that chap is back.
