Hey, I just wanted to take a second to come into these comments and personally thank you.
You are literally the first person to acknowledge the zip file thing for exporting to use in another renderer pipeline.
I am glad that you keep up to date. In the past few weeks, I've only seen Blender tutorials on the subject. As much as I like Procreate, I would prefer extremely improved painting capabilities within C4D. What would also be nice: C4D for iPad pro ;)
This is so awesome, can't wait to dive into this ! Seems like a perfect entry for beginners into UV Mapping and texturing !
Also just a tip, you can make perfect circles in procreate by holding your pencil at the end of the loop for about 2 seconds, it'll then snap to a perfect circle !
OHHHHH I didn't know that!!! Thanks for adding that super awesome tip!
Awesome! Thanks EJ
thanks for watching!
Thank you EJ & SOM for breaking this down. I was so excited to mess with Procreate's 3D capabilities and had just given up when I ran into those UV issues. THANKS!
So happy to hear you liked it! Yes - UVs can be a pain! Hopefully Procreate will add some auto-UV functionality in it soon!
So happy to know this was helpful, Darren! Let us know how it goes once you apply these tips into your workflow 😉.
Thank you so much, man. Once again, an AMAZING tutorial.
Thanks for watching!
Hey EJ, if you draw a "circle" in procreate and hold the pen steady at the end, it will make it a perfect circle! works with lines and other shapes aswell :) You could say it makes it a "happy little insurance coverage"
hahaha awesome thanks so much for sharing that! had no idea! :)
It's odd how AE runs on the same old framework for decades now without any new groundbreaking or workflow enhancing feature. While Procreate within such a short period of time is already releasing amazing updates like this one, that can really impact the way we work between 2D and 3D.
I'd have to say the equivalent would be the Substance team over at Adobe, they're really doing some great stuff as far as 3D is concerned
Amazing thanks 🙏🏻
Thank you for watching!
Awesome, learnt a tonne RE: procreate too! Thank you :-)
Happy to hear! Cheers!
Hey EJ this is awesome thank you! Procreate does have a symmetry tool! I'd hope it would work for the new 3D capabilities. All you have to do is go to Settings > Canvas > Drawing Guide > Edit drawing guide > Symmetry. Hopefully that works with painting UVs! (will be testing this out sometime soon)
Unfortunately as far as I can tell, those options don't exist in a 3D Procreate project but I hope you can prove me wrong! :)
Does the draw assit for making squares, circles, ellipses etc work in 2D or even 3D mode while working model or on UV?
Than you thank you thank you so much for that renaming to .zip advice! I was about to smash my head already!
My Game Artist heart started bleeding when you added the Grey Metallic Channel. :D Usually you should keep this channel 100 percent Black or 100 percent White for acurate representation of real world Phyiscs. ^^ With some exeptions like fish skin or satin.
Thanks. How can I export my 3D design from Procreate to a size large enough to print an A1 poster?
Hey EJ - I'm running R23 and not seeing a "bake materials" option under the USD export settings. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hey Nic! The USDZ export settings have been updated since R23 so it might just be a case of you needing to upgrade to get that functionality!
Can we print them or share them at thingiveverse
My textures are still in 2k when opened in procreate. (Colors transfer correctly)
Hm ….
dude there is a mirror in ur canvas options
Procreate 2.7?
