Pinch of sweetness, dollop of flavor! 🍒🍯 Let me know if you try this cherry jam recipe and how it turned out for you! I'll be here to answer any questions you may have. Enjoy and happy jam-making! 🥳
Lowest heat setting for my pan, same cherry sugar ratio but I ended up with bitter cherry toffee. The liquid became less and less and ended up so thick it wouldn’t stir. 1.5 hours is a long time for jam?
@@samanthaallix7253 Hi Samantha. It could be that your cherries had less juice than the ones I use. When you stir, check the consistency. If it doesn't feel too liquid, the jam is ready, even if you cooked it for less than 1.5 hours. Keep in mind that the jam will thicken a bit as it cools.
I love this time of year because the cherries are in. I love cherry anything.
I love your comment because it contains "cherries" and "love" 😃 Thanks for stopping by!
The house we just bought has 3 cherry trees 😊
I'd love to have one someday. Thanks for watching ❤️
That is awesome! We want cherry trees, but they seem to be expensive to buy. Maybe someday.
I can feel that smellllll ❤ yummyyy
Your cherry jam making brings so many memories.. It looks delicious too! Beautifully made! Enjoy 👍
Thanks my friend. Me too, I remember waiting for AGES for the cherries to ripen. It seemed like an eternity. We've already finished every drop of it, already thinking of a new batch 😁
What you add suger ..+ ..?
ВАУ... як же це смачно! 🤤Вишневе варення, що Ви приготували, виглядає неймовірно спокусливо!👌 😋Дякую за чудовий рецепт та лишаюся з Вами!👍від нового друга!💞💞💞
Cherry jam looks soo yummy! Very nice preparation and presentation ❤
Thank you!
Very delicios 🤩👍
Thank you!
This is a great, simple recipe. I like it. Going to make some cherry jam soon. Thank you for sharing!
This is the best looking cherry jam out there. The consistency is just exactly right, in other videos it's always too runny or too solid, this is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks, I'll try converting my cherries into this sometimes soon. Does it store well?
Thanks Mark! That's the consistency we like best, it's easy to spread on a toast and it doesn't run all over the place. Yes, it stores super well, just make sure to pour it into the jar and close the lid when still super hot, and for good measure sterilize the jar beforehand (just boil it for 10 minutes and there will be no bacteria left on it). Enjoy making your jam!
@@Food-Language thanks for the tips! Had no idea you needed to sterilize the jars before using, I'll keep that in mind.
It's not really required, the jam is hot enough to kill all the bacteria inside, but if you want to store it for a long time I strongly recommend to do it.
@@Food-Language Oh, makes perfect sense. Thanks again
That’s the way I learned to make jams…just sterilize everything, put the jam in, tighten the lid well & turn it upside down on the counter, it also creates a vacuum, you hear the lids popping. And any that didn’t, we just used that one or 2 jars right away
Foarte deliceos si apetizant😋😋😋
Yummy looks so delicious
So amazing jam recipe stay connected
Look yummy and tasty.Just new.Hopefully you will keep sharing more.Thank you.
Squeeze half a lemon instead of citric acid. Use a straw to push out the Cherry seeds. Add a inch piece of papaya to help in the jam setting faster.
Love cherries!! 🍒Gonna try this recipe once we have cherry season here.
I can't wait for them to come into season myself!
@@Food-Language where are you from? (If you don’t mind me asking)
yummy jam😋😋😋
This recipe looks yummy ! Can I use honey instead of sugar for sweetening ?
Yes, you can! Honey is sweeter, so just use a little less than you would with sugar. Also, jam made with sugar has a very long shelf life (a year or more) due to its good preserving properties. If you make it with honey, the shelf life might be shorter (but who cares, it will be gone within a week).

Looks so yummy and tasty😋👌🏻
Nice
What can I use instead of citric acid
Just lemon juice. Squeeze half a lemon and you're good to go.
Can orange juice with pulp can be used instead of 1 kilo of sugar ? Sorry for the novice question 😊
Sugar is used to preserve the jam. If you don't plan on keeping it for a long time, then go for it. It would be sour though without the sugar, you'd need something to sweeten it.
Tasty 😋
Thank you
This is probably a stupid question, but I thought you needed gelatin or pectin to thicken jams?
It's not stupid at all! I don't use pectin or other thickening agents. Cherries are pretty low in pectin, but the sugar and citric acid (or some lemon juice) help with the gelification. The consistency you see in the video is achieved with just these three ingredients (cherries, citric acid and sugar). If you like it thicker you can add some apple pieces, apples are packed with pectin.
Can I use maple syrup instead of sugar? Will that work?
Yes, you can! Some things to keep in mind:
- When using maple syrup in place of sugar, it's important to adjust the quantity because maple syrup is sweeter and has more liquid than granulated sugar
- Use 3/4 cup of maple syrup for every 1 cup of sugar you're replacing
- Squeeze some lemon juice for added pectin and tartness
Heyy! don't mind me asking but is the citric acid necessary?
Hey there! Citric acid is totally optional, but I find it gives the jam that extra tangy kick! Also it helps preserve the bright color of the jam. If you prefer a less tangy flavor, you can skip it and still enjoy delicious cherry jam. It can also be replaced with lemon juice if citric acid is not available.
@@Food-Language ouh alright, ill try using lemon juice. Can’t wait to try doing it this weekend with your recipe. Thank you for the reply 😊
Thank you for watching! Feel free to share how it went, I'd love to hear about your delicious creation 🍒
@@Food-Languageoh sorry one more thing, how big is the fire? Is it on low?
Hey there, yes, the lowest possible. You can start on medium until it starts boiling, but from that point on it needs to be low.
Can I use this recipe for peaches?
@food-language
Yes you can!
How long would be it’s shelf life?
It lasts for a year or even more. You need to keep it in a dark, cool place. Also make sure the jars and the caps are well sterilized before use. Thanks for watching ❤️
@@Food-Language thank you!
Way you put in down
You mean why I turned it upside down? It's to better sterilize the lid. The hot jam contacts with the lid and if there's still traces of bacteria it kills them. This step is optional if you sterilize the jar and the lid well, but we still do it sometimes as a precaution.
Why citric acid used?
Cherries are naturally low in acid, so adding citric acid ensures that the jam sets properly and tastes delicious. It helps bind the pectin molecules and form a gel. If you don't have citric acid, you can use the juice of half a lemon. Thanks for watching ♥
@@Food-Languagewould just a few splashes of storebought lemon juice in the bottle work? I don’t wanna go to the store 😭
@Nopenotme97 yes, that would work too
Why so much sugar?
Using a 2:1 fruit to sugar ratio in cherry jam helps to preserve it, enhance its flavor, and achieve the desired consistency. Sugar acts as a natural preservative, inhibiting the growth of bacteria and extending the shelf life of the jam. It also helps balance the tartness of the cherries and brings out their natural sweetness. While the amount may seem high, it's important to maintain the right balance for a delicious and long-lasting jam
Looks so delicious 👍 fw k sath gift 🎁👈 ap b ayen plz 🙏
