2011 Altima 2.5 SL 186,603 miles service my CVT repace both filters and fluid every 30,000 miles. Use Amsoil CVT fld. Also installed the Nissan CVT transmission cooler kit PN 21606-ZX59A
I have 2012 nissan altima an at 160 thousand miles it started getting hot go into lump mode so i changed fluid now its good an year later its doing it again so today im changing fluid again cvc transmission are not all that but its been a really good car i stay wv an drive dc every day
@@michaelgarland579 it’s hard to say. “Hot” is not very specific, but even if you gave me an exact temp I still don’t know at what cyou can expect guaranteed failure.
@@bennieaust I mean hot were it goes into lump mode were it won't reve out till it cools down on long trips other than that it's been good car what's that Tran cooler ?mabey that can help
i have a 2010 nissan altima 3.5sr the transmission slips a lot it runs and drives fine it’s just making a loud noise, could the fluid possibly be empty or do i need a transmission replacement
It’s certainly worth checking the fluid level before drawing a conclusion, but there is a good chance the transmission is failing and will need to be replaced.
I used valvoline CVT transmission fluid after I had to replace my 2007 nissan altima transmission. I won't use store brand (Nissan) transmission fluid anymore. I have a feeling the fluid is what's causing the problems.
It could be, but also I think poor maintenance is also a big factor. There are a lot of people that just drive it until it breaks and then consider doing maintenance.
@@bennieaust yea, but my transmission only had about 70K miles at the time whenit died. it went to safe mode at first. It was when there was the cvt transmission recall. they also added a transmission cooler. Fortunately, it was still under warranty. I started using Valvoline after that. Thanks for the video.
I have 2007 Nissan Altima. Mechanic added more transmission fluid I believe a year ago not sure if he drained it but my car has been fine ever since. Should I change or continue with it since it has gave me any issues.
I would recommend changing the fluid. The fluid change I do in this video is for maintenance, not repair. If your transmission starts giving you issues it may be too late. Thanks for watching!

They aren’t bulletproof, but keeping up to date on the service will go a long way.
@@bennieaust ok I noticed today it did better since I changed fluid
Now, when the transmission gets hot, is it too late?I changed the transmission oil. It's doing a lot better , but is it too late for it

Hello, what kind of oil should i use on my altima 2012
@@danielnaguit9745 the engine takes just under 5 quarts of 5w30 oil. I would definitely recommend synthetic.
@@bennieaust this one is for transmission fluid?
@@danielnaguit9745this video covers changing transmission fluid.
My 2008 Altima does not have drain plug……..
I've never seen one without a drain plug. It must have had the pan replaced at some point with an aftermarket one without a drain plug.
I also have a 2010 Nissan altima, 2.5 S&P. Does not have a drain plug either
@@jaygreene7544that’s crazy. What a bad idea.
@@bennieaustneither does mine. I have a 2008.
Why not mention the mileage? I have a 2010 with 82,000 miles. All mechanics tell me not to change the fluid because it's too late.
Nissan recommends doing this service every 60k miles.
Change it now or cry later
check the fluid of the oil, if its dark color. Then the transmission is done
