- In this video, I created a custom coffee bar out of a small old china hutch cabinet. My client sent me some inspirational photos and I was so excited to be able to use Melange’s Nirvana Green on this piece! I got to take away several aspects of the hutch and add several new ones to create a more modern looking coffee bar. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed this transformation!

Neiman, don't sell yourself short. The behind the scenes people make it all happen. You're an amazing camera man and talented effects guy. Glad to see you more up front. You're both great!!!!
Thanks Cindy! It definitely takes both of us to make this channel successful! Thanks for watching and supporting!
@@FurnitureFlippingTeacher for sure. We love you both!!!!
I agree! He's an awesome cameraman!
This is too true! I used to work as a stage manager... it's a LOT of work to make things APPEAR to go smoothly on stage or on camera. lol Great job both of you! ♥
I would kill to have his skills
Girl, you have found your calling. You have found a bigger classroom to reach all of us around the world. You rock!
Quick tip: to keep my putty and wood filler from drying out I put a piece of seran wrap in the container directly on the product to seal out the air in the container. Works like a dream.
Ahh! thanks! I will have to try it!
Great tip!
Thanks for that tip, just common sense!
It's a lovely tip, it works in the kitchen too..i use this trick to do not let my guacamole get dark..it last days in the fridge with fresh green colour.
Great tip!! Will have to try~
Great job and color on the coffee cabinet; anyone would be proud to have it in their home. Like most people, though, I have a suggestion. Traditionally, when a cabinet door remains on the piece, it is painted on both sides with the interior box left natural or painted. For the very reason you touched up the paint on the top of the drawers, you also paint the interior of the doors. It's that finishing touch.
A glass shelf would be a nice addition to use the upper half and still let the lamp shine through. How tall is your customer's coffee maker/station? Does she want a shelf above?
Two or three glass shelves would finish the look. She did a great job though.
That coffee bar is fantastic; I love the color! Please DO use the old hutch windows for another project! Beautiful job! ❤️
We’ll see what Neim comes up with 😉 thanks for watching!
@@FurnitureFlippingTeacher go for it Neim. I like them and those shelves.
I imagine our children and grandchildren will be saying, "Why did they paint it?" Then they can have the fun of peeling the paint off and restoring it. Keep up the great work.
Ugghh! Please don't even say that. I just finished stripping a walnut dresser, with NINE coats of paint...and purple glitter on pink paint...GLITTER {obviously the from the 70's, it was between the 60's avocado green, and 80's gray}! The glue in the glitter mixed with the stripper and made it nearly impossible to strip. Why people destroy beautiful wood with paint is beyond me.
Neiman deserves some nice stuff too! He works hard behind the scenes and helps Lauren when she needs it. Good job on this piece! Turned out very nice!
I love the color! I personally would like the coffee cups on a shelf instead of hooks on the side. Other than that I love what you did. Great job.
Very cute Lauren! I still think a shelf could be added if your customer wanted one. Love the color!
A glass shelf would let the light shine through. 💡
Neiman, love the desk and the fact you can work comfortably while filming and editing. You and Lauren make a great team.
On your hole saw…start on one side…about 1/2 way through, switch to opposite side and finish hole. You will NOT have any more “tear out”. Nice to see hubby in video too!
Just a small comment or advice. In this situation when you drill with a key hole saw drill from the top to just break through with the guide bit then finish off from the other side. That way you will not get that blow out on the finished part. Nice job.
I agree it is easiest to find the middle from the top. You can just use the drill bit part from top down, then use that hole to guide the hole saw from the bottom up. It is great to see you try new things on camera and to let us see that things aren't always perfect!
Good to know!
Neiman, you should also get sponsored for a cushion mat for long standing at the stand-up desk, an ergonomic chair, and comfortable soft memory foam cushion shoes. It's important to be good to your standing posture as you work. You're still young, so start early. Good job doing what you do!
I'm glad you said at the end of the video about a hole for the coffee maker cord.
That color is beautiful 😍
yeah! I think it will be a great touch! 🤗 Thanks for watching!
Neiman, you beat me to the doors lol. Those doors are gorgeous. Can't wait to see what you do with them.
Yes keep doors for craft project! So pretty!
I’m pretty sure this is my new favorite color!! Omgosh this is just gorgeous!! Great job Girl❤️
So happy for Neiman to have his new awesome desk also❤️❤️
Absolutely GORGEOUS job on this coffee bar, Lauren....LOVE it!!!
Another beautiful piece, it’s gorgeous, I know the new owner will be thrilled, speechless. It’s so pretty👍👍💕
not going to lie, I loved the "before" and I'm sad to see it go, but I am always glad to see something that wasn't being used become useable again! And the after looks amazing!
I agree - the doors were to die for!
So I was glad to hear that they were going to be saved for a future project
So close to 100k! Can’t wait till you hit it!
Yes! Getting closer every day! 🤗 thanks for the support!
Hi guys, that is an amazing “flip”, you see these pieces on marketplace often. The desk is a wonderful gift …..very nice. You are both doing an amazing job 👏👏👏🇦🇺
Thanks, Annette!!
When you have a smaller piece like on the shiplap, it can be easier to place that on the bottom. That way you have a full piece on the top & the smaller-width piece will most likely be hidden by whatever's on the bar. Flows better visually & may save a bit of work. Love the color. Great job, as always!
That is a great idea.
Oh my! I’m so in love with everything about this flip!!! I have a large armoire I want to make into a coffee bar. I’m following your lead ! Thanks, so much, for what you guys do!
I like those doors, too. "Watching paint dry" LOL
Loren, that is beautiful! One of my favorites yet. I just started flipping and by watching you I have started with the melange paints! Which I am loving. This color is beautiful!
Wonderful! Melange is a favorite for sure (: Thanks for watching!
My favourite part is the shiplap of course. Gorgeous.
I love the background music. Praying that God continue to bless y'all.
Love the coffee bar... especially the color! IMO, a shelf at the top would have been a welcome addition, though. I was happy to hear you plan on drilling a hole for the coffee maker cord. Keep up the good work! Your videos are always fun to watch.
Outstanding result, my favorite color. Your attention to detail is excellent. So well done!!
Fabulous Job! Iappreciate thatyou didn't hide your "mistakes". Gives me hope for my flips! It is gorgeous!
Next time when drilling like that place "painters tape" the top and bottom from where you are drilling and that should help minimize having that blow out. Look great
Hello,
I think you are doing a grate job re- purposing furniture and have a good eye for color and creativity. I thank people like you for sharing your work an skills for others to see. I am a contractor who has been painting and remodeling for over twenty years and just wanted to give you a couple hints or suggestions to maybe help you cut some time and maybe even make a little more money. I watched how you apply the plastic wood and if you skim coat over the holes in a clean manner and just fill the hole instead of putting a bit more over and around the holes. No matter how you sand anything around the holes will be sanded away. Obviously you have to fill the holes at least twice if not three times in order for them to disappear but also I noticed you use the Bondo which I feel is a faster way for the filler to dry and a harder finish. Also make sure you always prime over the wood filler or bondo. ( so it don’t flash) Have you ever used Binz by Zinnzer co? It is a shellac based primer and once it’s on it’s on there and blocks everything! ( once it’s dry you can’t scratch it off )use it to prime kitchen cabinets and then two coats of finish over that. Ok one more thing you might want to upgrade one day to a HVLP sprayer it will help you cover more over the piece your spraying and revive a better quality finish. I have been painting for a long time and if you need any advice about that subject please let me know. I can’t believe how hard you and your boyfriend or husband work to do these projects. I love seeing people doing the good preparation and quality labor Like you guys do!! Thanks for your videos!
Joe,
First time I've seen you cover the hinges instead of removing the doors. Remember we are beginners. I always appreciate when you explain things.
You did a Fantastic job on that hutch makeover 👍and lei man does an Awesome job Behind the scenes ! 👍I just ❤️❤️the Way it All turned out 👏👏
Neiman, love the desk set-up!
On the hooks, next time you think you are pushing the limit on depth, use a washer to add space between the hook and wood
I like having all your videos on one channel.
Hi, I wanted to tell you I appreciate this is a clean channel. I enjoy watching. 😉
I miss when it was just your channel. I still love your content!
Not too sure what you mean by this! It is still just our channel!
I want to thank you for your awesome videos, you gave me the courage to try it myself… Im disabled and unable to work, but, finishing the furniture at my pace allows me to feel as though, I’m contributing to my family again.. thank you for what you do.
Exactly what I am doing Robert! Studied for a year before I jumped in.
@@kayeyeager8006 awesome!!!
That is really pretty! I sent photos to my one son. He's go an old hutch in his sun porch he wants to paint.
A tip on using a hole saw bit. Put your painters tape on both sides of the piece you are cutting and it will help eliminate splintering and your bit will cut right through it.
We appreciate your channel. Thank you for both of you❤️
Yay! So happy for Neiman’s new gift! Neiman, you are very talented. Glad you are getting recognized.
Just beautiful
I pray y’all are well and blessed!!!!!!
Thanks! Back at ya!
I agree with you Nieman, use the doors
I love it Lauren! I am anxious to see what Neiman comes up with, with the glass doors you took off....
me too! 😂
For the larger holes where the doors were you can use a dowel to fill the hole (not flush to the surface) then add the wood filler. The filler does not sink as much.
The color is beautiful. Gorgeous coffee bar. You and Neiman are a great team.
I thought the same thing about the doors - they seem like you can make some cute decor from them!
The desk is amazing! So happy for you both.
Gorgeous! Love the light and shiplap. It is always the little details that add so much. 💖💖💖
I like it!!! Great idea transforming an older outdated hutch. Love the green.
Beautiful color and beautiful results! Great job Lauren!
Love the new color and I think it would look amazing on kitchen cabinets ❣
This is my dream coffee bar!!! Love that deal too!!
Beautiful, love the color, I have a cabinet or hutch very similar to the one you transformed here and the idea of converting it into a Coffee Bar has been in my head for quite a while 😊
It’s beautiful! You did an amazing job. Neiman I love seeing you in the camera view you are pretty funny. Lauren you have been such an inspiration to me like I’ve said before you are the reason I started flipping furniture. I do it for a living now. Thank you for all you do. Glad to see you back flipping furniture this week
I love the transformation. It's beautiful.
Innovation excellent repurposing ideas! Just amazing!
What a beautiful color. Thanks for always finding new techniques to teach us.
Love how you transformed that piece to a more modern look, the shiplap was a great touch. I absolutely love Melange paint, It's just so creamy smooth. Great job as always!!
Great job to both of you. I love the furniture you re-make and Neiman's ability behind the camera keeps it interesting.
WOW !! I really love this coffee bar. The color is great and it seems that spraying it made the flip go faster. Love that shiplap on the back. It gives it a country feel. Lauren, you do such a terrific job refinishing furniture and Neiman does a great job filming and editing. Thanks to both of you for a terrific video !!!
Oh shoot! You just reminded me I had screws in the pocket of my favorite gym shorts!!!! And they just went through the washer 🤦♀️. Anyway I love how you transformed this bulky cupboard into this adorable coffee bar 💚
This is my absolute FAVOURITE piece youve done! It is beautiful~!
Love love love that paint color 😃❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I loved your video. I’m getting ideas to paint my hutch, I think white. Never did this before but you make it look so easy. I have to try, wish me luck😉
Your coffee bar turn out so nice! I really like this shade of green. Shiplap is one of my favorites. The quality is certainly in this piece of furniture! Thrilled for Neiman getting this nice desk with the "extras". Thanks for sharing. God bless
Thank you so much, Shelia! This one was a fun one for sure!
I think it needs a shelf - somewhere to put a mug containing spoons, a cute coffee canister, and some other hot beverage mixes.
Great Job. Knobs matched so good with the door henge. Color I'm not that crazy about. I did enjoy your video. I never knew that paint should be strained. Thank you! ☕
It turned out beautiful! Love the color! You do great work!
The other thing that makes me smile with your videos is when you “sign off” and say…..’see you in the flip side’. My husband always says that as I head out to work or run an errand…basically meaning I’ll see you when you get back at the end of the work day.
Lovely, the colour is great. Has given me inspiration to have a go myself.
just did my first flip! Thanks for the inspiration!
I really like it & it’s so much like the inspiration piece the customer requested!
Looks beautiful ! There is a lot of empty space, though, so a shelf with the light hanging below would have been nice.
Very good work love 💘 what you do with old pieces making them look like new again making other things out of them lovely 😍
Wow, way cool coffee bar! Love the color.
Hello guys ! I have been doing crafts most of my life but more recently I have been repainting furniture. I just finished my dining room set. I did it in a pretty tan color and went over it with antique wax, came out very rustic looking which was just what I wanted. Now I am doing a 1940s China cabinet. It was stained a darker walnut, I primed it with white primer and now I am painting it a beautiful shade of blue. I just wanted to let you know that I took the backer board off the China cabinet very carefully painted it off-white, and with a level, drew horizontal lines across it (5" wide) with pencil which I then wet my finger and dragged along the pencil line as I saw on RUclips. It came out amazing! I love watching you, Lauren and Newman. Keep up the Great Work! Sue
Your Coffee Bar came out BEAUTIFUL ! I love the color. I’m so glad you said you’re going to make a hole for the coffeemaker’s cord because now it’s complete ! 😉
What a gorgeous happy colour! The best thing paint companies have ever done is promoting lower sheen, the colours come out much better. I think this is the best teal I've seen.
I love that color! Great transformation!
Love love love the hardware
really like the way this came out
Great job. Now I know what to do with an old cabinet we have. Thanks for sharing.
I too love the doors. I hope you can do something fun with them
Great work and gorgeous results. I love it!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow baie mooi en netjies werk. 🇿🇦💞💞
Turned out beautiful
Good to see the Neiman and some of his input to keep things hopping. There is a good give and take in this partnership and good seeing an attractive pair together. I like this project. Nice work and ideas
Couldn't agree more!
