Let’s not forget, aside from saving $, it’s about sustainability. There is entirely too much throwing away going on in our world. The more we keep out of the landfills, the better for all of us.
Looks beautiful! Something to try next time is using a nozzle on your air compressor to "dust" that cane (or baskets, screen, etc). Also, turn buttons on the underside would make the cane removable for a future remake.
I’ve also seen a ‘sand blasting’ kit that attaches to a compressor and it is used to get finishes out of crevices and corners and detail work and did a super quick job of it too! Wish I could remember the guy’s you tube channel that had it but I imagine they are not hard to find. He had a bucket of sand attached to it too.
Very pretty. You are such a awesome daughter. So nice of you to do that for your mom. I loved your moms react. I love taking dull boring piece of furniture and Bringing new life to it.❤️
I have that exact table, just a bit darker in color. I got it at the Salvation Army about 15 years ago. I have a lamp on it and loads of plants on both levels. I love mine and what you've done to your Mom's. Your work is always so relatable.
@@janeevans4758 maybe they do. I was making a suggestion, giving her content ideas. 🤷🏽♀️ I see the stairs as a blank canvas that do need updated. I’d love to do a project like that.

I absolutely love the finished product. It looks brand new and classic. Great job! Love your mom's reaction. She will be boasting about your talent for years to come. Proud Mom!
The table looks beautiful! I just took my table that was 45 years old and two end tables to Habitat for Humanity. They were in our formal front room for years and just like new. I needed to reduce the furniture and rightfully so but had I seen this I may have thought twice before giving them away. I wish you lived closer as I also have some white French Provincial dresser and chest of drawers that have everything attached and like new from 1965. Ugh..........funny thing is I was born in Omaha and if I was still there you could come and get them. :-( I live on the west coast now so that is a no go. It is a good thought however. Blessings...........love what you have done with the black and linen like color.
This turned out beautifully! Your Mom couldn't stop smiling! I actually had a table exactly like this one when we moved into our first home 50 years ago! I have used DB Silk line and love how smoothly it goes on. Neiman is so cute and handy too!
That entry table looks very elegant now. Your mom’s face was priceless. I think she liked it! I lost my mom several years ago, watching your mom be so thankful, giving you a couple of hugs made me miss my mom. Thanks for reminding us to do nice things for your family. Great job as usual.
20:53 Have I missed something? It looks like you and Neiman are back in your parents’ home. What happened to the AirBNB? Did you sell it? I prefer your flipping videos to your home DIYs.
Well done! The table looks great! Ever thought of flipping your Mum’s staircase to get rid of the orange? You could paint it or stain it light walnut or lighter. Would be a great flipping idea for viewers. 😉😉 Edit! Just seen similar comments below!
I agree with everyone else, you look like your mother. Her reaction was adorable. The savings from a Target table was astounding. Your refinish could easily be found in much higher priced stores. I had a living room set just like that. All of you swear you won't get cane bottomed anything with cats. Actually, don't have furniture until your cats are at least three. Sit on the floor.
If they put any weight on it, it will fall through. Why don't you cut up some paint sticks and tack it on BACK that way. Thats why it had those on there to begin with. Remember?
I painted that same texture that was in the front of the drawers in my pop up camper. I thought I would remove it at first, but then as I was painting it, I ended up really loving that design.
Looks so good. Mom obviously approves! Are you back home for good or just doing you rehab projects there? Keep up the good work. Have learned so much from you.
You did a beautiful job on the entryway table. Such a transformation, yet with just a simple update of colors. I especially loved the new look for the cane.
I love seeing you and your mom together but I guess everybody tells you that your project is was one of love and that's the best kind it came out beautiful I love having family photos set up like that
So fun! Love doing updates for mom!! LOL Shes too cute. I updated an old dry sink and side table for my mom last year. I was left the hutch out of the set and hope update in the spring when I can sand outside.
I have that same entryway table from my aunt.i made it over too.and put in bottom shelves. Painted it grey.Thank you for sharing this beautiful makeover.
Turned out gorgeous, look truly updated. Could you do a video of all the pieces you did like the 12 pieces you did for christmas in one video? Would love to see a compilation if possible. I have seen all of your flips but having it compiled would be nice.
It still is fab. I’m going to look for one of those and redo. Cuz thrift might not be seen as a hip buy at existing style. My mom had that one too in 1970s
Hi! I guess I am the Shelly you gave a shout out. Thank you. Love the table. I agree with you. No need to buy anything expensive that’s made cheap when a piece with good bones is available.
I love watching you bring new life into old pieces. I also just positively love you and your amazing skills and your personality!! Sending love from Ga. U. S. A. .❤😊
The table came out beautiful!!!.... but all those wood spindles in the wall behind the table make the table almost disappear.....I would take all those spindles out and drywall that whole area behind the table.....just sayin'.....
Comparing Target "furniture" to a well-made vintage piece!!! LOL LOL (I know you were only comparing style) But hopefully people will get thrift store oldies and flip them rather than Target pieces that will last a couple of moves when the vintage piece will last forever!
I love refurbished furniture, because everything today is made of particle board and is NOT worth the material they use. Older furniture was made with pride and quality materials so it would withstand time. Great job.
Great job! Was thinking, if you put dry wall above the console table instead of the railings it would hide the TV and give your mum a wall to display more photos?
Let’s not forget, aside from saving $, it’s about sustainability. There is entirely too much throwing away going on in our world. The more we keep out of the landfills, the better for all of us.
You did an awesome job but the BEST part was your Mom’s reaction. So sweet.
I agree! she’s the best!!
Your mom is by far the cutest mom on youtube!! She just beams with pride over everything you do!!
love this and totally agree! She is my HYPE WOMAN!
I agree; I love Lauren's mom and think she is as cute as can be.
Her and mamma maples!
She is the best! ❤
Your mum is so lovely Lauren. Great flip and it really is great seeing you back flipping again.
The table really looks so good in that color; and your mom's reaction was the best. So nice of you to do that for her.

❤You look just like your mom!!! Lovely makeover!!😊
So glad you kept the existing vintage piece, it's nice to preserve what we already have. Good job!
A soft brush might work to clean the crevices of caned or wicker pieces. Good job, as usual.😉
Good call! thanks for watching!
Very pretty. You are such a awesome daughter. So nice of you to do that for your mom. I loved your moms react.
I love taking dull boring piece of furniture and Bringing new life to it.❤️
Your Mom seems soo sweet. & wow you two look a lot alike!! I would LOVE to see you update that entire entryway area!!!!
I thought the same thing when her mom walked in--they look so much alike! So cute!

Please update her stairs. That would be such a fun project to watch you do! 🤩
Maybe they like the stairs just as they are.

The stairs would definitely be fun to watch! The question is paint or wood stain?
I noticed the stair railing and wandered if her mom would be interested in an update with that, also!🤩
I absolutely love the finished product. It looks brand new and classic. Great job! Love your mom's reaction. She will be boasting about your talent for years to come. Proud Mom!
So glad you went with those colors. So much wood surrounding that area. Looks great!
So sweet..now I see you doing the rails in black lol. It does look so amazing what a great daughter…miss my mom so much
Your mommas reaction. 😁 loved it. Mom's will always love their children's art work. Great job! 👍👍

I really like the black. Now you should ask mom about redoing her stairs and spindles.
So gorgeous! What an amazing thing to do for your mom. She was so happy. Lauren, you look so much like your mom ❤

I love the work you did,but I love most the hugs and happiness you shared with your Mom. Sweet treat! 🙂❤✌️
Nice job! Love the new look and still having a quality piece of furniture!

VACUUM THE CANE FIRST OR HARD TO GET AT SPOTS. THen paint. A tooth brush helps also.

To get dust out of tight crevices, use a new, dry paint brush. Keep that brush for dusting purposes only.
Yes! Another great way to get the job done ✅

It looks so modern now, really beautiful! But i guess, now you have to do the bannisters too, to make it fit together😁.
Looks so good. Mom obviously approves!
Are you back home for good or just doing you rehab projects there?
Keep up the good work. Have learned so much from you.
Absolutely beautiful. I have two end tables that look just like the entry table. They are about 40 years old too. They could use a facelift.😊
I enjoy her flips yet It’s sad painting over beautiful woods.
You did a beautiful job on the entryway table. Such a transformation, yet with just a simple update of colors. I especially loved the new look for the cane.
Thanks so much! 😊 glad you enjoyed !

Nice work! Looks great. Nice display of family pictures, too.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!

Wow! You saved over $200.00 and it looks amazing!!🎉🎉Great job!!🤩
I love it I have the side table and I painted in black too.Looks really nice ❤
Can you paint her entryway? That area needs an update and would look good painted..nice job on the flip...
Looks great.
Just FYI...photos should never be placed where sun can come through a window and directly shine on them. They will be completely ruined.

Hi Lauren, I have a question about spraying. Do you have to clean the sprayer between coats? Thanks a bunch, love your videos.
Great job! Was thinking, if you put dry wall above the console table instead of the railings it would hide the TV and give your mum a wall to display more photos?
Nice project
I like how you graded the dust rag as a B+. Being that you’re a teacher, it’d be fun to hear more school/teacher references
