    I've been a customer for nearly 30 yrs. Very happy with all my Roland/Boss gear.
    This amp? I'm buying two.

    Using a Taylor is a good move for the demo. ES2 is bad plugged in and this made it sound great. Replaced the ES2 in my 714ce with an LR Anthem, never looked back.

    I have been using the AC-33 for years professionally, and countless folks comment on how great the sound is for the size and CRUCIALLY the fact that it uses AA batteries which can easily be switched out (yes, rechargeable...). It's honestly a brilliant amp. I note that this is 10W (5W+5W) whereas AC-33 is 10W+10W (on batteries) and both have 5" speakers. So, the question for me really is can this output enough volume for me when I need to push it a bit, and is there a slightly larger version going to be introduced at a later date... ? Would be really interested to hear people's thoughts on this new model. Boss make solid stuff.

    Pretty cool. Now if it had the harmony section like the Acoustic Singer Live, it would be complete.

    Great little amp. I wonder if BOSS will release the air feel in pedal form for those that plug straight into a PA System.

    I’m a flamenco guitar player and been using the Roland AC-33 for 10 years. It’s a very compact and lightweight stereo amplifier perfect for acoustic guitars and in my experience it sounds better than Bose S1 Pro and JBL EON One Compact, specially when you do the Picado/Rest Stroke technique. The speaker last around 7 hours with Eneloop Pro rechargeable batteries at 70% Volume that is enough for small gigs (20 - 30 pax indoor).
    I just found that there is this new BOSS AC-22LX and I wonder if it has more volume and better quality sound. Is there anyone who already got this new amp. and compared with the Roland AC-33 in a live performance?

    How does this work? Does it take the input signal as kind of "impulse shell"? My question is does it always sound kind of the same with different input signals? I guess it's optimised for piezo pickups? I would be interested in using it with a stimer style magnetic pickup on a acoustic selmer style guitar, would that work? I guess even if it would work the sound will be dreadnoughtish?

    Had one of the older Roland acoustic amps ,never really happy with the speakers handling the bottom end , being so small physically couldn't produce depth .

    Not rechargeable 😭😭 PLEASE Boss, can you look into rechargeable options for your small portable amps ? The guilt from loading in 8 x AA”s and binning them every time

    • @theprogguitarist
      @theprogguitarist 10 месяцев назад +2

      My solution to this is to use rechargeable AA batteries. If the amp would have a built in battery which fails, then you can throw away the entire amp (unless Boss offers a replacement service ofc)

      I use drill batteries with my Roland AC-33. I can understand why they don't - you can still get batteries for their pedals that are 40+years old

  • @za4310

    Im really surprised its getting so much praise. I like the concept and i appreciate the attempt, but i dont think it sounds anything like those micing techniques. I dont think any acoustic pickups sound good and i preferred the di signal significantly over any of the presets. To my ear it sounds like different types eq and reverb adding to a sterile sounding acoustic pickup. Ive tried to do that in my daw and it sounds bad there too. Its promising way to much, and i doubt any discerning acoustic players are going to hear it and agree with the advertising. Im sure its a fine amp but its really got to promise less.

      Right. You mean I can’t Plug this guy in?

    • @IceGuts
      @IceGuts 10 месяцев назад

      @@Skwid-Lives I think you can but nowadays nobody who goes out to play does that. It is a major PITA overall especially if you play outside away from power sources or with limited power sources. Fishman and others routinely offer battery rechargeable amps. So, of course, there are some that are also only plug in amps, of course but if you look at the product: ACOUSTIC = no plug power and if you look at the trends and capabilities of competition ... to introduce an amp with AA batteries is asinine engineering fopa. IMHO

    • @andynashguitar
      @andynashguitar 10 месяцев назад

      Guys, use your own rechargeable batteries?! And yes this comes with a PSU too.

    • @IceGuts
      @IceGuts 10 месяцев назад

      Cmon. This is a new product. It is the year 2023. Next you will tell me to get a battery charger at Radio Shack 😂. Nobody wants to remove, charge and stuff the batteries all the time.
      while the rest of the amp and features are worthy news, someone seriously half assed the engineering of the internals.

    • @andynashguitar
      @andynashguitar 10 месяцев назад

      @@IceGuts sure, yes I totally understand for your use case that's all good, just maybe consider that some folks such as myself would prefer not to rely on an internal rechargeable battery. My entire setup (also the RC-500 Looper) runs on rechargeable AAs so it's no bother to have all the other recharging gear and gives me peace of mind in a professional setting.
      There are plenty of other similar amps (see Fishman etc) that sound great, but weigh too much to comfortably carry and require plugging into the mains for charging. Not great when you're stuck way out on the grounds of a venue, for example. Also not great when transporting across London on the tube after sinking a couple of cocktails (purely theoretically 😉)

    Does it have a drum machine built in ? I bought the Joyo BSK 80 for that reason.
