Love this, no talking for ten minutes, just straight to the demo. I wish all demos were like this. Definitely gonna check out this pedal against EHX Oceans 1
Definitely. There's enough differences to make it worthwhile . I'm a crappy player but i love playing with echo and reverb - I've probably got too many but i love them all 🤗 Would i buy one of these ? Hell yes !
Ripper demo, one of the best I've seen! Boss/Roland are slamming it. This, the Waza pedals the Boutique's and other releases are so great. No more being held to ransom by dirtbag opportunists looking to screw people over for vintage units. Believe me I've had just about all the great Roland Boss units including Juno 6, SH101 and their best pedals/fx including an RE201. I'll let you in on a secret! The golden age of gear was not the 70's ....it's now! Weve never had better tools. Forget the cork sniffing and make great music!
Lmao, not trying to "correct" anyone here... But boss pedals are awesome... Expecially if you love having over 6 buffers in your chain... It's unfortunate they're all buffered.
I had seen the concepts of RE enclosed in a stompbox before and thought it to be great but never happening miracle.....AND HERE IT IS! WOOOAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
I'd love to see Boss push the envelope and do an updated version of the other twin pedals from the mid-2000s. Especially the Rotary Ensemble and Poly Octave (like the recent OC-5 with more options).
Boss pedals are good quality, I have some that are over 35 years old and still work great. They sound good , use good quality components and you can find them just about anywhere. Also reasonably affordable.
The song at the end sounds like Just by Radiohead, and the Reggae one sounds like Walking On The Moon by the popo, and the first one sounds like Shine by Pink Floyd
I AM FROM TURKEY...ONCE I CHATTED WITH A CANADIAN PRO GUITARIST ABOUT GUITAR PEDALS...HE JUST SAID THIS TO ME : AHHH THE GUITAR PEDALS: THE MORE KNOBS ( OR SWITCHES ) THEY HAVE, THE MORE TROUBLE THEY CAUSE ONSTAGE...SO, YOU JUST USE THEM IN THE STUDIO, JUST FOR GETTING GOOD & DIFFERENT SOUNDS... I ASKED HIM, WHAT DO YOU USE ONSTAGE ? HE RESPONDED : JUST A BOSS TUNER, A DOD COMPRESSOR AND A BOSS DS- 1 DISTORTION PEDAL...THATS IT...
I'll bet you're happy now! Got my SDE-3 a few weeks ago and it's fantastic - I have an SDE-3000 in my studio, and the pedal has got the mojo, and I think will be an instant classic Boss delay.
Hello everybody, I'm new in this universe of pedals and I liked a lot this one, but I would like to know how to use it, I mean, why there are three inputs and two outputs? How it works each one and what happens if you combine them? I really appreciate an explanation, thank you
Don't know why this sounds a little disappointing, but i find the RE 202 and the Strymon El Capistan, which i use myself, unparallelled alternatives to the original RE-201.
The RE2 appears to be less than the RE20 for similar cost. Unless compact is desirable stick with the RE20. However the RE202 does offer more than the RE20. It's got controls for saturation and wow&flutter'. Plus I've read it has a tape age selector. So whatever the OG RE201 sound was it ought to do it. The RE201 is legendary but it weighs a ton compared to a stomp box
Love the guitarwork in this lovely demo, and I'm glad to see the guitarist credit -- Michael Blackwell -- but when I look up his music, it doesn't sound much like this, it's way poppier. Is there anyone who knows his work better who could point me to songs or albums that sound more like what he does here? (also open to other recommendations..)
I bought the RE-2 last year, but prefer the previous RE-20 model. The compact size of this new unit is a disadvantage because the dual function knobs are a bit too small. Perhaps the RE-202 would be the better choice.
This is the f****** pedal that I've been waiting for, for like over a half of my life what the hell have they been waiting for is beyond me? But of course they have to price it way the hell out of everybody's range, which means hardly anyone can afford to f****** buy it. Lol
I want one! But for the money there are lots of delays/echoes, wich do a very similar job and more. Even NUX did a new take on it for half of the money. Btw. there is no "The Original Sound" because every original unit sounds/ded different because of the mechanical tolerances, tape etc. There has been a time when we were happy to have non mechanical, digital devices for gigging. So it's all about the Mojo and the Vibes again 😁
While true, I know myself and others always look at Boss first when looking for a particular effect or sound. Their form factor and durability is just perfect. Nothing like stomping on a Boss pedal. feelsgoodman.jpg

Take both xD

My wife will love hearing this.
Edit 1 year later: Went with the RE202.
one of us!! one of us!!
I bought so many thanks by that logic
I played for her last night and she loved it
A year after this comment…I choke on my coffee 😂
I thought that he was going to say that a year later he was going to be divorced! Lol

I’ve been using Boss pedal’s since 1983. They’ve never let me down, and I’m always impressed by they’re new pedal’s

@@WellzeyWells I run a boss only pedal board and I receive nothing but compliments
Boss has knocked it out of the park with this pedal.
That's Michael Blackwell, amazing guitarist 😍
I need this, the world needs this
Beautiful!
Just when I say I have enough pedals, I don’t need anymore, this one comes out.
Always the case, isn’t it?
gods real and this pedal finally coming out is proof
I'm getting this Friday! I can't wait!
Just picked one up today. Can't wait to play with it!
Sounds great, I'm getting myself a RE2. This and RV6 perfect combo. Even alone RE2 is enough.
Beautiful playing and the audio production. Superb
Super awesome Radiohead-esque demo!
Awesome sounds great.

Just got the OC-5 and love it. Great for creating bass notes in the bottom octave of a guitar while chords on thinner strings are unaffected
I hope for a Rv 3 remake in the future with stacked knobs for the Delay/Reverb 🤩
Amen to that. I have an RV-3 shaped hole in my life.
Pink label tones ofc
space echo with reverb and decay sounds good
@@Cocorobet25p35p Yes but that's different
Outstanding demo!
Sold! Take my money!
i think I need this AND the RE-202.
Really useful and beautiful demo. I think it will be my next boss pedal.
Oooohhhh, I've been waiting for this!!
wow can't wait to get one of these...
Yes!! Thank you Boss!! 😛 can’t wait to try it out!
Came for the Resident Evil 2 Boss fight
Was not disappointed
Thank you , Boss.
👏👏👏👏
Encore! Rotary Ensemble! RV-3! Tremolo/Pan! Reboot them all!
Boss is the best!
I might just have to buy one of these.
For that price should’ve included the exp. pedal.
I've still got the big boy from a decade ago
The pinkfloyd one got me 👌
Awesome music.
Still rockin the RE20
Lovely Boss Pedals…..❤️
Amazing!
Instantly ordered. 0:58...
This is a dream come true
Great demo! Ordered 👍🏻
Robin Trower used one in his live version of Somebody Calling . 1977 .
Wow, you could build a band around this pedal
Great guitarist to really sell this pedal 😎
Whoa, I have an original unit and would probably sell it and get one of these. Sounds incredible
Good bet there I'm getting one right away I have a good analog EPH3 copy for the fattening up but not crazy shimmer shine like this unit
Seriously? You release the Waza DE-2w, and now this? You're killing me here!
Beautiful
Nice Radiohead nods here and there. Cool demo!
Already have 3 delays on the board, including El Cap, so do I need this? Why yes, yes I do!
I miss my RE-20 so much 😭
I like the Radiohead “airbag” style part
Boss is the ultimate boutique company, I absolutely love Boss pedals

Unfortunately they switched to SMT for a lot of their inner boards (even the Wazas), which will make them more difficult to repair.
Alright this is a must have for me
I like the demos as songs.
The song at the end sounds like Just by Radiohead, and the Reggae one sounds like Walking On The Moon by the popo, and the first one sounds like Shine by Pink Floyd
Sweet! Might have to sell my current delay and get one of these! 😎

Really hoping they come out with a compact pedal version of the SDE-3000 EVH!

Remember it being an April fool montage. Glad they finally make it.
It's making me all spaced out. But it's badass badass badass badass badass. Is there an echo in here in here in here in here. LOL

2 inputs and outputs so you can do stereo. The third input is for tap tempo pedal or expression pedal
I'd like to hear a synth demo with this
yes i wish there were more demos with vintage synths...im shopping for something to pair with my Juno-6, etc
Cool 😎
Can I say effin’ awesome?!
RV-3 + RV-5 = RV-6 ... a MONSTER!
Or 1 big sky. LOL
#Bossforlife
Great demo. Great guitarist. How does this compare to the original tape version??
This or Tera Echo? Which one is better? Nice demo! Thanks
Please make a Waza craft of the Pn-2 with an added sine wave shape I beg of you
Curious, new to this. I see he has a cable in, then I'm sure one out to the amp. Where is the other cable going? Thank you.
It's running in stereo (so could be two amps, or a stereo amp like the Roland JC-40, or into some kind of modeler).
Don't know why this sounds a little disappointing, but i find the RE 202 and the Strymon El Capistan, which i use myself, unparallelled alternatives to the original RE-201.
Yeah this one is more digital sounding than the original pedal.
The RE2 appears to be less than the RE20 for similar cost. Unless compact is desirable stick with the RE20. However the RE202 does offer more than the RE20. $380 in Canada. Way too expensive.
