Great video/review. I completely agree with everything you said. I own a 4deck nexus set-up & recently picked up a pair of new Nexus along with the new DJM900 & the new decks are cool but I really do prefer my original nexus. The nexus 2 are slow as shit when loading & it's really annoying. The extra hot cues are cool but I use my original nexus's with my DDjSP1 so I already have 8 hot cues on all 4 decks. Everything on the new players are ok. I like the new search feature. Works great but as a whole. Nothing to write home about. The mixer on the other hand I really like. All the little improvements made to that are awesome. Especially in the effects section. I really like the mixer a lot & to me it's worth buying if your a pioneer junkie. It sounds better & is a great improvement. As for the new players I can barely tell the difference in sound. It's like I can but can't. lol. I don't know if I'm tricking myself when I say I hear the difference so I personally can't say for sure. Lol
Just watched this after purchasing sc5000's, I don't play out. Apart from the pioneer "club standard" pish I hear from everyone I don't see how this does anything more than what I have, in fact it has less features. Seams to me that people buy the name first and then equipment second.
100% agreed, even more as the SC6000 and the CDJ3000 came out, the gap is still huge, the price gap even more. Not ever going to support the monopolist again.
Thank You Very Much !!!!!! Nice Review, I was waiting for some of the info that you explained....I got the system for a couple of weeks now and this really is going to help...I can't wait for the Mixer Review!!!
Hi. Just wondering - based on the concerns mentioned in the video by the narrator - does anyone know if any of these have been fixed or changed in any released firmware updates since? Also are there any other existing issues with the current firmware? Thanks in advance
thanks for the clarification this is actually a critical aspect for me in pairing them with a Serato mixer to provide both options either rekordbox or serato dj pro
Loved this breakdown… Do you feel the same way at this point… I am deciding whether to go with the used 2000s or used NX 2's… My friend keeps telling me that buying used and then having them tuned up by a pioneer specialist is the way to go… I have the 850's at this point…
blv u will. my first mixer was a behringer crap now i run a dj academy with cdj 2000 & djm 900 nxs & ddj sr & traktor s4 & djm T1 & djm 909 & cdj 1000 mk3 & cdj 200 .. just blv and work on it
Still with the jog bend dead zone and that shitty 0.5 pitch increment on Wide. They also continue to have problems reading drives for very long and jumping into an emergency loop.
hey mojaxx, i have an issue with random looping when i scratch and/or move the platter to cue up. also, the sound cuts off unless i hold the needle search. do u have any ideas on how i can fix this? i have cdj 2000s.
MOJAXX Please speak out for us little guys, need to see affordable cdj/media players from someone other than pioneer. Seems like all the other manufacturers abandoned the cdj market for controllers. As far as cdj's are concerned you either get real cheap or very expensive, nothing in between 😠😠😠
I forgot...... if you have the New DVS update installed, could you PLEASE tell me if when connected via Pro DJ Link and using full collection from laptop, Can you load tracks to CDJ's using loading knob from the hardware and if wave forms shows up?
I think you're mixing up 2 different things... If you have it all setup just over Pro DJ Link, then yes, waveforms are there and the players behave just like they would with a USB stick. Search on our DJcity channel for Pro DJ Link Tips for a video about that. The new DVS plugin is purely for timecode control, so most features are lost from the CDJs - you're just using them as a 'dumb' CD player. HID mode is kind of half-way between the two.
+MojaxxVDJ Thank you for the fast reply, and I get what you said...It. Is just that I am that kind of guy that likes to have the laptop with the setup and I was just looking for a way to load the tracks into the CDJ's without using the mouse and dragging the songs to the icons at the bottom of the screen when using Rekorbox DJ in absolute mode.
+MHSG31566 When setup with the link, and the software is NOT in performance mode, it is literally just like playing off a USB stick, with your entire library accessible FROM the laptop, but ON the CDJs. Everything behaves the same. And that applies to all players with the link facility, not just the Nexus 2s.
These are 2275 euros in my country. (brand new, authorized seller, price is for ONE CDJ 2000 NXS2). As this is way too much, my question is - are CDJ 2000 NXS one worth 2700 euros for a pair (used, no warranty)
Yes, because it's pretty similar to nxs2 but also it's very useful if you are ok to only have 3 hot cues. Trust me it's worth it. For the price go for it. Be sure that the screen is still good though.
Troller Peterson thanks for the reply, much appriciated ! Guy that sells them told me they were made (or bought) 12/2018 and that they were used only 10 times. He says they have no issues and that they look brand new. I’ll be sure to check everything...
Troller Peterson Thanks man ! I’ll be sure to let you know when I get them. I’ve been saving money for some good controller but as all of my budget will go for CDJs - I’ll have to borrow mixer untill I save money for it. Hope that’s a good decision !
I actually cope just fine with the touchstrip search on the last model! But having it so prominent on the NXS2 does highlight how limited the search can be for new users.
Very true it really makes it standout. I still have to use timecode cds at clubs in North Wales lol. when I say clubs I really mean one of the two clubs that exists .
Thanks for your knowledge a explanation on this awesome 😎 Pioneer CDJ What are hot cues? I’m not sure if ever need them? I had nurmark 2 channel mixer then sold it when I started out I like numark as read the reviews I starting out with a Nurmark party mixer 2 channel, does this CD J compatibility with Virtual Dj as I got it?
Dan Quay hot cues are cues you can set within a song that corresponds to a hot cue button. When you hit that button the song will cue from that point. You can also do this on the fly, play them in slip mat mode or preset them on your software. I personally use them to cut out long sections in tracks or extend short tracks. Great for getting to a starting point that matches the mood of the crowd. Hope this helps
I've bought a set of these...and don't want to risk trying to up date the firm ware...can you get a reputable dealer to update them for you...at a cost obviously.?
Hi I'm new into DJing. 2:30 And i'm wondering what the fuck is going on with not only the waveform but especially with the phase meter? It's stuttering as fuck. How can that be usefull and even possible on a professional Device that costs >2000$? That's ridiculous. Am I overseeing something?
Salvador Garcia Villeda Not on the brand new NXS2’s at my local pirate studios, all tracks have to be analysed through Rekordbox if you want them to have cue points or BPM’s 🤦🏼♂️
I am not buying anything new with CDs in the front. I have enough scratched upped cds thank you. Pioneer needs to put full 6 terabyte hard drives in the players and stop holding back. And lower the prices while you are at it. You are suffocating progress.
Why would you put a HDD into the players? Most DJ's don't carry players around they use what the club provides therefore rendering your idea pretty pointless
for what they ask for, load times with 16 hot cues should load instantly. it should have a i7 in it 😊
top notch review!
this review is so much more professional than all the others! great
Solid honest review! always get the gritty truth from Mojaxx!

Thanks for the feedback Tony, always great to hear a second opinion from a real-world user.
Are you using your sp1, with the original nexus players, without a laptop? If so, I didn’t know one could do that.

100% agreed, even more as the SC6000 and the CDJ3000 came out, the gap is still huge, the price gap even more. Not ever going to support the monopolist again.
Great review! Without HID mode for serato no option for me at the moment. And I'm really wondering about the sp1 implementation.
Youssouf Bâ HID = USB Connection
Oh shit its actually ESKEI83 HIIIIIIIII.
Great review! Some great new features there, I am a big fan of the hot cue function, but doesn't justify the astronomical price I'm afraid.
I still love the new CDJ's!
Good review btw
Nice review, Mo...
Not being SDJ supported is a HUGE deal breaker for me. Also that Cowboys jersey! I need to hook you up with a Steelers jersey!
Great review, just too friggin' expensive, but that's obviously understandable. It's a great piece of hardware.
awesome review as always Mo!!! but I hate the Jersey lol 😂😂😂
It's a honest review. I enjoy very much all of your work and it's helped me make intelligent decisions..Mojaxx is a beast!
Great review as always :) I'm still happy with my XDJ 1000's :D
Awesome review chap.. Thanks

Just saying: The Nexus 2 series support Serato in HID mode since a few months ;)
thanks for the clarification this is actually a critical aspect for me in pairing them with a Serato mixer to provide both options either rekordbox or serato dj pro
Honest Review!
Do you need to put a cd in it?
Loved this breakdown… Do you feel the same way at this point… I am deciding whether to go with the used 2000s or used NX 2's… My friend keeps telling me that buying used and then having them tuned up by a pioneer specialist is the way to go… I have the 850's at this point…

what about the shadow over the waveform? is a pioneer issue?
Still with the jog bend dead zone and that shitty 0.5 pitch increment on Wide. They also continue to have problems reading drives for very long and jumping into an emergency loop.
have the loading speeds been fixed now?
can i connect SP1 with my XDJ 1000 or XDJ700? ( without laptop, with pendrive)
hey mojaxx, i have an issue with random looping when i scratch and/or move the platter to cue up. also, the sound cuts off unless i hold the needle search. do u have any ideas on how i can fix this? i have cdj 2000s.
how to get the spectrum/waveform while playing a song?
Soon I wıll upgrade to this one
does anyone know the song ( 3:30 ) , what makes it so secret, the gentleman from the city dj silent
Quick question folks, can you change the color on the cue & play/pause buttons??? Dont like the orange & the green colors!! TIA
Where does this guy gig? In some pub?
Do you think this one can sync with denon sc6000 =)

Pioneer make an XDJ1000mk2 which is an in-between and they make an XDJ700. These are both players and are great and use the same layout of the CDJs
What song is that at 3:30?
Can anyone tell me if they are wider than the original 2000 nexus?
4:50 this got fixed already.
May I ask what brand of digital cable you used to connect the cdjs to the djm.
Thanks!
oyaide
You sound like Greg Davies lol, good review

This one or Denon 5000?
so you won't need a laptop with the sp-1 control ?
No, it just goes straight into the CDJ and controls all 4 (if you have that many!). It's really dope, just needs the deck assignment tweaking.
+MojaxxVDJ verry dope ! I can't wait to test it !
Dope
The keyboard is enough for most mobile and open format djs to ditch the laptop overall even with the annoying search parameters.

does anyone want to trade the new nexus 2s for a cdj 1000 mk3?
Chedda Bred good luck with that mate
already Cowboys Nation DC4L
what does he mean instant doubles???
This is where the track on one deck is copied to the other deck.
Do DJs use CDs in 2017?
most of them do, I think the cdj 1000 is rekordbox only
+Luis Noriega xdj 1000*
Elias only usb sticks.

I use CD's, wav/mp3's and play vinyl. I'm also going to get an SD card as it store up to half a terabyte.
