Im watching this April 2024 & its CRAZY how they could be talking about CURRENT EVENTS! Patrice talking about how EZPass was part of the SURVEILLANCE STATE was WAY ahead of his time!
Patrice O’ Neal is such a hero to me in so many ways. His philosophies, his ideals, his honesty, the way he was basically set up for failure on that Charlie Sheen Roast, I remember watching that live in college! All us real comedy fans know, but he never got the due he deserved. He might have if he coulda been here longer. I wish I could hear his perspective today on the world so badly… Imagine seeing Patrice O’ Neal on JRE today. Patrice, man, we really miss you.
Man every podcast would be tryna have him as a guest even wack ones and he most likely wouldn't go on them. He said he loved Joe Rogan so no doubt he'd go on there. That would be awesome
@@mgav459 it’s unreal how easily he put it over 10 years ago, but no one can sum it up like that today…. …We can all quote Patrice and “understand/like” his perspective, but most of us don’t have the ability to continue the debate like he was able to do. I’ll listen to 10 hours of straight Patrice and be completely 100% understanding of the Women Soldierin’ Theory. Then it comes out to my gf as “hey I want to F other women and you have to be okay with it since it’s evolution. Oh and give me the house key back until you earn it.” Hahaha just doesn’t work…
Anytime they go into a deep subject, jimmy talks with such authority and confidence, then I think of his explanation for gravity, and I think oh yeah outside of comedy jimmy is an idiot. 😂
He was surprisingly insightful with his advice line show. But when he'd try to speak on things like conspiracy theories, he'd focus too hard on dunking on the supposed opposition he'd just make uneducated strawman he could make those look foolish to those who didn't know any better.
59:43 I love how fast Jim morphed into the Ted character after the caller mentioned a TED talk 😂 he just ran with the whole consortium thing and it fit perfectly. That was laughter I needed
Kaku innocently promoting his book as 6th on the NY best seller list and Jim squeezing in that his book ''happy endings'' is 4th somehow made me a little depressed
Patrice comments on comedians like anthony jesselnick we're spot on. THAt phony, douchy , woke, i don't care about anything mentality drives me nuts. I bet you grab there phone and threaten to drop in water, there energy level rises 80% instantly.
I wish it had been the P&A show. The hilarious, but semi serious debates between Patrice and Anthony were amazing, and honestly probably could have done alot for race relations in this country. They could talk about serious stuff, but laugh at themselves and each other at the same time. It was actually incredible to listen to.
Opie: "Wait, I never heard of this. The Workaholics. What is it? I don't even know what this is." 18:36 *5 mins later* Opie: "We got a guy sticking up for Workaholics, saying it's funny as hell. Fine if you like it. Whatever. That's fine, but I don't get it." 24:24 what? you literally just said you had no idea what it is, but now all of a sudden you have an opinion on something you've never seen, and you don't like it? not defending Workaholics or anything, Opie is just such a phony
Patrice was just too uncomfortable with the phoniness of Hollywood. He didn't know how to just relax & not be so overly defensive. He was very paranoid of fame & he would self sabotage quite a bit. He was a phenomenal talent & one of the greatest comics of all-time, but he just wasn't made for the Hollywood hamster-wheel.
He's an interesting one. As much as he is perceptive of some things, his take on the roast was weird. How it was a lot of mean stuff, like being a child molester or eight abortions. The roasts are always like that, and a lot of shitty comics only try to be the edgiest in the room.
Workaholics was pretty good the first few seasons, they all sound like old men getting mad that young people didn’t kiss their asses, and they all sound like hipsters trying to gate keep and deconstruct what’s funny and what’s not, they missed the mark on this one.
I truly feel like his existence was more of a curse because with even more life and career experience, I feel that he could've, single-handedly, saved and improved the comedy world. Similar to Cobain and Biggie to musicians, and Ledger to actors. He was the most honest, and funny man we shared the planet with and it will always hurt to never hear a new opinion from Patrice O'neal.

Patrice is a legend. Not sure the exact date this aired but I think he passed away a couple months after the roast. Consistent killer all the way to the end. RIP
What's sad is that Shatner and his wife's focus on his poor health foretold his end shortly after this roast. The roast was funny but the entire roast was watered diwn- not his fault.
