I have never looked forward to RUclips channel updates as much as your 4KP ones! Thank you for doing these.
Awe man, thank you Keith! I'll try to keep 'em coming for ya.
So glad they labeled all of the wires so nicely, super excited to get mine. Great video!
Gotta love an easy build - I'm putting together a A1up TRON right now.... (say a prayer for me). Great content as always!
Thank you JDV! All the best with the Tron Cab, I'm sure it will go smoothly for you.
You got it Jon! You're the best at the step-by-step instructional video, hands down. I got the 3rd party J-panel which has a pic of the MPC on it), which of course makes it an even crazier build. Nothing's easy is it? Well, except for maybe putting that 4K ALP together. Very smooth.
Thank you JDV, I still have a lot to learn and make my share of mistakes but I thank you sir. Looking forward to watching your videos on the Tron, J-Panel and 4KP if you add one! Definitely exciting times to be in this hobby.
If you are not first you are last! Thanks Jon, appreciate the content, alot of people are really excited to get their ALP 4KP, I am making room between my ALP's for my Addams Family!
My pleasure!
Great video, they learn from their first machine. I’m sure you advising them didn’t hurt either. I’m sure installation and startup time was cut in half.
Thanks UAG, they improved the machine in about every way possible from the HD model. Even launching tables is faster, but would be expected due to the much faster CPU. Thanks for watching!
You, sir, are the premiere source of AtGames 4k pinball. I preordered the Star Trek version. I swear you should be getting a commission. Content is outstanding.
The Star Trek cabinet looks fantastic from the images I've seen! It's great that we have all of these options and about 10 more coming (5 options now). Thank you so much for your kind comments and for watching!
@@funtyes1970 Great point! But AtGames is getting more than their money's worth out of this content.
Man , it looks great ! I'm ready for my wave 1 invoices tomorrow for both the machine, and SSF kit ! Thanks for the video !
Thanks for another great video. I have an AF 4KP coming that was pre-ordered during the 2nd sales wave, plus I let AtGames pre-install the SSF kit, so a couple more months wait for me. I've had the Arcade Control Panel sitting here still sealed in the box for a couple months now waiting for my 4KP. Awesome to see what to expect when I get mine. Keep up the great work! Anxiously looking forward to part 2.
Hey, thank you so much Ray! It seems like a long time coming, but we're finally getting close. Hope to have Part 2 done this week sometime. I do have a ways to go on the video and website updates, but should be doable.
Fantastic video! This will be viewed by so many people and it will help tremendously! Thank you!
Thank you, hope it helps a lot of folks get their machine up and running quickly!
Very nice, looks great! AtGames moving all the OTG inputs to the back is 👌🏼 My only real complaint is the front “start” and “home” buttons - they could have used the coin door buttons to act as real buttons, eliminating the need for those two white buttons. Definitely would have cleaned up the front of the cabinet a little.
Thank you for your feedback! Those two buttons get pressed an awful lot, not sure folks would like them on the coin slots. But I could be wrong, very interesting idea!
Nice video! I am looking forward to getting my AGLP4K game, and reviewing this video, part 2, and the SSF install video to come. Thanks for all of your hard work! It is much appreciated.
Thank you and you're very welcome! Looking forward to getting both Part 2 and SSF videos out there for everyone to see. Both will be a bit of work, but it's fun work 😎
Thanks Jon, the excitement continues.
Another awesome video! I can't wait to see part 2
Looks like they made it very easy to assembly. Great job Jon!
They did and thank you sir!
Great video John, can wait for mine😊
Good packaging atleast. Many will be excited about this.
Thanks for the video Jon, excellent jib of showing how to assemble it. i really like how they color coded the wiring now, looks pretty straight forward how to put it all together. Looking forward to even more videos on this machine.
Thank you sir, hope you're doing well! It's exciting to see all of these improvements from the model we saw in Chicago. AtGames made it a bit easier to assemble. Planning to start the next video tonight/tomorrow, it should be a fun video to make and hopefully fun to watch too.
@@WagnersTechTalk Definitely watch it, always ready to see what you have cooked up for us.😀
Nice job with the help video Mr. Wagner!! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!
Another great video. Thanks John!
Glad you enjoyed it
Looks great! Thank you for the video.
Thanks for watching!
I feel like I'm watching George Lucas assemble a Pin Ball Machine! Lol! I'm sure you've heard that before Jon! By the way, a very good assembly video! This should be AtGames install video for their website! Very thorough and easy to follow! That artwork looks amazing! I want the 1977 Star Wars version! Thanks for the great video!
No Mike, I've never heard that before LOL - thanks for the laugh buddy! I think AtGames will be releasing their own assembly video soon, the more the merrier (George won't be starring in that one). I'm with you, I'd love to see a cabinet design based on the original Star Wars trilogy. I think that would be a massive hit from pinball and star wars fans (not based on the recent movies, though Mando would be cool). Appreciate your kind comments, thank you for watching!
Great video I can’t wait to get mines
Great video!! Can’t wait to get mine!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great video. Cant wait for mine to arrive. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
We definitely had some practice at the Pinball Expo! :D Nice video :)
Yes we did lol! Thank you for watching 😎
Jon you are the best I’m getting really excited about my Addams family I am the 1st wave but i paid for ssf to be pre installed - I currently have the original atgames pinball with otg setup -- I’m using a laptop with 1 video output hoping this docking station will allow 4k with my laptop
j5create - 4K60 Elite USB-C
Triple-Monitor 10Gbps Mini
Dock - Space
Very nice video. Thanks for posting and have a nice day too.
Thank you! You too!
Never thought I would be excited to watch a unboxing video 😂 Have to admit I was a little intimidated by it. I’m sure I will be watching this many times. Any suggestions if a 2nd person isn’t available? 😬
Glad you enjoyed it and hope it's helpful when yours arrives! While I recommend two people to put it together, I didn't have any help in this video and I'm a short dude. Totally doable with one person, but to avoid pulling your back or possibly dropping the machine when flipping it upright, it's best to have two people.
@@WagnersTechTalk Thanks 👍
Thank you so much for the excellent content!
Very welcome and thank you!
Look’s fantastic however my first mod is to spray that white trim around the marquee holder black or green.
Thank you.
Very welcome.
Glad you got the first one! I will troll until a lower cost generic version is offered, since love my current ALP and the modding I did. BTW, hopefully people appreciate that if they struggle with 4K playing smooth via OTG, 1440P pinball looks worse than 1080p on a 4K display. It's a pixel ratio thing that matters.
Thank you, Jon, an awesome instructional video as always. I look forward to part 2. I assume there will eventually be one for the controller panel and one for the SSF (although mine is pre-installed😊).
Thank you Dale! For the Arcade Control Panel, I installed it in the Chicago PE '23 unit, it will be the same for the production model, you can find that video here: ruclips.net/video/vUMlZ-ghYBM/видео.html (about 3/4 of the way). Yes, SSF is coming here very soon and I'll also document that too.
Great Video . Well done
Thank you very much!
pretty much ready to go for vpx 3 screen setup hurry up uk
Thanks, Wags! I always get excited when I see you have a new 4KP video.
More to come!
I need part two and three and four noooooowwwww 🎉 lol😂
:D we'll get there soooooooonish!
Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video as always. Just and FYI, my "black dot" on DMD connector (yellow #3 connection) was actually on the bottom, which resulted in my plugging it in wrong initially.
Thank you Todd, very interesting that the dot was in a different location. I'll pass this along to AtGames.
Not sure why anyone would build a custom virtual pin when you can simply just buy one of these going forward. Good job AtGames.
I can see why
Because it's not good 😂
How much are they paying you for your endorsement 😂😂😂.
@@jjsrt8you buy Chrysler products…
Man, i just got my regular legends pinball last week. Now i see this new 4k machine and naturally i feel like ah damn, why didnt i get the 4k one, i messed up. But then i live in europe, i wasnt even aware that the 4k exists, and already the "old" legends is kinda hard to get on the old continent and generally really overpriced. Just as an example, the legends pinball micro costs 700 dollars over here which is insane. But then i calm down and realize that the old legends is a great way to start, have still lots of fun like everyone else did before the 4k was a thing. Im getting the vibs and the haptics kit over the next week and all in all my machine will still be under 1000 dollars. Excited to learn vpx, tinker with that, and see if in 2-3 years im ready for a more expensive machine (wife permitting as usual lol). If theres something that really interests me about the 4k legends then its the input latency. I tried alot of things with my legends and im now around 70-80ms which for me is well playable and anyways im a newbie pinball player. Let us know if the 4k is better in that regards, be it onboard tables or OTG. Thanks for your videos Wagner, your our pioneer so we can make the right choices
The ALP HD is a great machine, I loved it since the day I got it over 2 years ago. If it wasn't for buying that machine, I wouldn't likely be making this video. I did do some OTG testing on an earlier model 4KP (the Engineering Validation Test unit or EVT). You can find those numbers and demonstration video here: wagnerstechtalk.com/alp4k/#Part_3_OTG that may be helpful to you. Of course, I'll need to replace those videos at, some point, with this machine.
@@WagnersTechTalk ill watch it right now, thank you. Cant wait to see your review of the 4k.
I think AtGames did a great job making everything look pretty easy to assemble. I'm wondering how easy it might be to get access to that DMD screen and mod in something bigger. 8" feels too small, and while I'm sure they were just using the screens they already had sourced for the Micro, this would be the first mod I'd be looking to do after adding SSF. Just ordered all my cables I need to hook my PC up when it arrives. Getting excited!
On the front of the backbox there are two screws at the top and the speaker grill cover screws holding in the plexi. Getting to it wouldn't be too hard, though removing the DMD may be. The SSF I'm looking forward to installing for sure!
Can you compare the leg lengths of the 4KP to the HD? Are they standard length Stern legs now instead of the shorties that came with the HD? I have official Stern legs sitting to replace my HD legs that have been up on furniture risers for 2 years now.
They are about 29 3/4" tall from the floor to the top of the leg (not fully extended at the feet)
Thanks Jon, great Video. Do you know, if the power unit can handle 220 V ? Cheers, Ed
From the back of the machine, it states - Power Input:
AC 110-240V - 50/60Hz 1.2A
@@WagnersTechTalk thanks Jon, great news, means plug and play im Europe, too - no converter needed.
Thanks for the video. My playfield has light streaks running across from the left across to the right, terminating at the object on the playfield. I tested the playfield before i connected the backbox and it was doing this before i connected any cables. I am using my own power cable as AtGames didnt include the power cable/key box in my shipment. Could it be anything other than a damaged/defective monitor? i have opened a ticket but im looking to the community for some expertise.
I think it's most likely a defective display in this case. Not that it can't be something else, but seems less likely.
Oh quick question , is there glass protecting the screen ?
Yes, glass over the main playfield. Backglass is not.
Can you leave the topper off if you don't have the clearance? Thanks for the GREAT video!
Yes you can, you don't have to attach it or plug it in. Thank you!
@@WagnersTechTalk I appreciate the info, you're right it works perfect without it.
Hi Jon thanks for your amazing Video. Just received my machine, did everything aus you did, but it does not boot (however power switch light is on and you can use the pinball buttons). Any ideas ? Thanks
It sounds like a cable came loose during shipment. I'd recommend checking with AtGames support, it's not an issue I've run into and best for them to help you.
@@WagnersTechTalk Thanks for the Tipp Jon. Atgames forgot to plugin the rear power unit.
If you ordered a table and then later ordered the SSF sound kit installed, how does Atgames resolve that?
Not exactly sure, reach out to AtGames customer service on that one please www.atgames.net/arcades/contact . I don't want to tell you something wrong.
I wish they would let us know what other tables are coming. Attack From Mars looks great and so far it’s the only real artwork/table. But I’m hoping for a Funhouse, Terminator 2 or at least something Star Wars related. Hopefully original trilogy inspired. If none of this happens I’m really going to hate myself if I don’t pre order the Attack from Mars.
I'm sure AtGames wish they could too. From what I understand, it takes time to get approval from the license owner to release new cabinets. I agree, an original SW trilogy cabinet would be amazing!
Where is the key located? i am seem to be either missing one. Is it supposed to be with the table or the backglass box. is it hidden in packaging. is it in that tiny box with the backbox? i didnt get one of those.
Should be in a small box that includes the power supply for the machine. Mine was wedged into the foam.
Looks like im missing that box. no power supply either. @@WagnersTechTalk
Will this ever hit the UK?
That would be a question you may want to ask directly to AtGames, I honestly don't know. I do know there are distribution partners in Europe but not sure if/when the 4kp will be available.
Jon when is part 2 coming out ?
Likely sometime late next week. The video is just one part of it, also will update the written guide with all the steps. Production will start either tonight or tomorrow morning.
Thanks doing these
I got my link to pay off the ssf kit only. Does the payoff link for the cabinet arrive in another email?
I've not received the e-mail yet, may want to check with AtGames to be sure. Did you order both at the same time?
@@WagnersTechTalk I ordered the ssf kit separately
Hi Jon! Thanks for these videos. Are the legs more like Stern legs than the ones on the previous Legends Pinball incarnation? Do they have levelers or pads on the bottom?
I think they are black versions of the legs from the ALP HD. I could be wrong about that, but I think that's the case. There are pads on the bottom and looks like you can raise it up about 1-2" by adjusting the screws.
@@WagnersTechTalk Thank you! So a little shorter than typical legs?
They are about 29 3/4" tall from the floor to the top of the leg (not fully extended at the feet)
@@WagnersTechTalk Thank you! You're amazing!
I can't find where to turn on or off the visual extras like ball trails.
Launch the table, then press the AtGames button and then in Settings. Should be good to go!
@@WagnersTechTalk oh ok...thanks.
Can someone clarify. I was under the impression that the 4k ALP would have accelerometers. Why is there a nudge button?
Some prefer physical nudge (accelerometer), others prefer buttons for nudging. You have options.
First of all, killer response time!!! Truly awesome channel. Second, thank you for the answer. Getting antsy now :) @@WagnersTechTalk
👀
I hope the interface is fixed from the ALP HD
I assume you're talking about the User Interface, yes it is. See this video (click image) for more on CE-4k, your new UI for navigating the 4KP: wagnerstechtalk.com/alp4k/#Part_2_Software_Tour . I'll have more on this in the next video also.
@@WagnersTechTalk amazing
Mine came in with a broken monitor. Now I wish i wasn't an early backer. Wish me luck......
From what I've been hearing, AtGames has been doing a good job getting shipping issues turned around. Let me know once you get a replacement. If they will be shipping just the display, you can use my SSF Kit installation video on how to replace just the display. But, think they'll likely ship an entire cabinet instead.
Yay, no pseudo non-HDMI anymore!
I hope the buttons are better than on the original ALP, those are crap
My 4kp was dead on arrival. Has this happened to anyone else?
I've seen some that have damage, some that had cables get disconnected (likely during shipment) but not sure if that is the same as what you're seeing. If the power to the boards is disconnected, that would obviously give the impression that it's doa. I would open a ticket with AtGames and see what they suggest. Not enough here for me to go on.
I opened a ticket with atgames last night. It’s just really weird because the power switch lights up when you turn it on and the solenoids activate when you hit the flippers but nothing else works. The fan on the pcb doesn’t spin up. I dont see any led’s light up inside the cabinet if there are any. I was just curious if you had heard from anyone else if they had a dead unit. Thanks. @@WagnersTechTalk
Depending on how interested you are in seeing if you want to check for any disconnected cables, you could use this SSF kit video (disassemble/reassemble portions) to take it apart and check for any disconnected cables: ruclips.net/video/ram6haQN0UU/видео.html (& depending on your comfort level doing so, this shouldn't be necessary). Since a ticket was created, likely best to wait until AtGames responds. But if you're comfortable opening the machine to check, that may help too. I would always recommend what AtGames Customer Service says over anything I might mention.
I'm sorry but these just "look" cheap. I get the market that At Games is targeting but even this new premium cabinet of theirs gives me Arcade 1Up vibes and not in a good way....but hey if you enjoy it and have fun, that's all that matters.
Definitely enjoying it, looks beautiful to me. The artwork looks great, it's sturdy and fun to play. But, that's just my opinion. I never owned an A1UP vpin, but I have seen one in a local pawn shop - absolutely no comparison.
It’s like atgames purposely avoid giving it to the other usual suspect RUclipsrs that would talk smack about this product. And Wagner is a sure safe bet.
I work my butt off on this stuff. Testing, documenting, creating content, answering questions such as yours, etc. If trying to be helpful is something you can't appreciate, don't watch.
I do like your videos. I just know how atgames is doing everything to avoid any real negative review and not just sugar coat positive stuff. The community wants everything negative and positive honest reviews. I know how Ping is. He does not like negative honesty.
This is not a pinball machine, you got duped buddy. Wasted money my friend.
lol
