    I am curious about transitioning from a pathway to another landscaping feature such as a yard. I am constructing a side yard path that will run from the back gate into the back lawn and am not sure how to terminate the pathway where it meets the yard. I don't want to have edging just sticking up at the ends, any advice?

    • @2minutegardener639
      @2minutegardener639  Год назад +2

      The edging is meant to contain the pebbles. Without it, the pebbles will slowly get mixed with the planting bed mulch. Some clients are ok with that look and do it without the edging.

    I want to do this on a pathway with a downgrade, do you have any suggestions or considerations? Its a gradual slope, very minor but its downward sloped.

      Stepping stones can become slippery if installed at an angle. Try putting a little bit of mortar underneath one edge and install the steppers level. That way you are creating a little stairway.

    So if you have a good base already, do you need to dig to a certain depth before laying the landscape fabric or edging?

    • @2minutegardener639
      @2minutegardener639  2 года назад +1

      I recommend an inch deeper than the stepping stone depth. So if you have a 1 inch stepping stone, dig 2 inches.

    Hi…if I want to add step tone (or without step tone) n pebble rock along 2 side of my driveway n my driveway is a little bit up the hill …so just still adding sand after remove the grass? Will the water gonna wash away the sand too since my driveway is little bit up hill ?

    • @2minutegardener639
      @2minutegardener639  2 года назад +1

      You will probably need to add a little support under each stepper on the walkway if there is a slight incline. I little bit of concrete might be the most stable.

    For pavers that are directly in the mulch, is there any additional prep? Do you need to underlie those pavers with gravel or anything? I am looking to set up a short stepping stone path leading to my hose bib/faucet (maybe 3 or 4 stepping stones/pavers).

    • @2minutegardener639
      @2minutegardener639  3 месяца назад

      Yes, you need to use some kind of base that is compacted and won't decompose, like the DG in the video

    • @2minutegardener639

      Either use a broom or a mulch with very little movement like Gorilla Hair mulch

    Great video, what did you do to lay the stepping-stones within the bark. Can you tell me the process please. Also I have to laugh I live in Oregon now but I lived in El Cajon for 25 years. 😊 I certainly could have used your help when I live there

    I have a question about preparing the base to an area of soil that’s a little softer, especially after a rain….do you use the class 2 base and decomposed granite as a base or is the class 2 base all you use before adding pavers and stones?

    • @2minutegardener639
      @2minutegardener639  Год назад

      Yes, I definitely recommend using class 2 base, then the leveling sand, then the steppers. We didn't use the road base because the ground was practically solid rock.

    • @2minutegardener639
      @2minutegardener639  5 месяцев назад +1

      No, mulch will break down and the pavers will become unsteady. Always lay stepping stone on some type of crushed rock product like decomposed granite of road base.
