Whether the fame was from good or bad things didn't matter, what mattered is that people would tune in to hate on her or tune in to her for other reasons. So it was likely just a 'there is no such thing as bad publicity' situation until she went on one of her rants.
As far as I'm concerned, the IP was junk in the first place. It bought out TechTV for the sake of TechTV's distribution, and the content went downhill afterwards. It was never a very promising IP.

It’s actually funny how much I relate to this. When I was younger I clearly didn’t focus enough on the objectification of the hosts because all I remember as an adult is the video game talk. I didn’t like being blanket lectured to by a privileged white woman who couldn’t muster up the willpower to ban mean livestream comments and move on. She fucked up the whole feeling of the show for a lot of people like me who didn’t even care if there’d be anymore objectifiable women or whatever else.

It amazed me that it took 7 months for them to make the rant video private. To stand by it when a chunk of your active fanbase left is absolutely amazing. There was no push back against Frosk for her words by the company, heck they supported her and demonized the fans. I am shocked there has not been more turnover to right to sinking ship.

The rant was 7 months ago. They should have sacked Frost right than and there. But no, they sided with her. Not to mention Adam Sessy trashing his family. Now they have to eat the remaines of the dish they served.

I knew it was going to be a disaster as soon as I knew Sess was involved. Those G4 writers back in the day had to do a TON of heavy living to make him not come off like an insufferable douche.
Sessler also did stuff like make huge awful rants online and then when someone just tries to talk to him about games on twitter, facebook, whatever, he goes on a rant about how stupid they are for whatever reason, blocks them, unfollows/unfriends, whatever, then once that person can no longer see what he's saying he'll give his two cents on the game. After learning about who he really is I realized how amazing the writers for old G4 were, as they turned this insufferable asshole into a somewhat entertaining nerd.

Frosk drove a stake right through the heart of the company while everybody around cheered. Then they proudly promoted it as some sort of a glorious mic drop moment. Sessler's hate speech about Republicans certainly didn't help. There goes half of your target audience right there. The breaking point for me was when Adam sessler wished death upon his republican family memebers on Twitter. Having liberals in the family we argue over politics but never would I wish death upon them and after the arguing we go back to being family.

I actually somewhat disagree with Geeky Sparkles. Sure it wasn't just Frosk who caused the downfall of G4 making a good return, but she did play a large part. Everything she said in her rant was wrong. Her nonsensical rant was random, nauseating, and divisive. The 5 or so people who cheered and clapped for her during this rant, along with the borderline sexual predator guy shouting "Tell em Frosk!" showed the viewers this G4 crew didn't care about them.

Most companies who have integrity tend to stop the problem before it even starts so what they should have done when Frost was making that rent is cut the feed to Hay will be right back and then pull her aside and tell her she can't do that here. I did not need Frosk to be bangable like she inferred. I needed her to actually play the games and actually have an informed opinion on the merits of the game. I'm still astonished how some of these maniacs aren't homeless and forgotten, then I remember that there's a huge portion of the media industry that WANTS to throw all their money at failing projects full of self-righteous sociopaths.
It’s actually kinda sad. I was there at the beginning and watched the launch live. But it seemed like there was less Adam and Kevin and more of the newer ppl instead….. and then the whole thing with Frosk happened and I personally bounced after that. She spouted some stuff that made me go “I’m not sure you watched the golden age of G4”

I was legit rooting for them to make a strong comeback, I really was. These guys were part of my childhood (Well...they actually kinda ate part of my childhood by absorbing TechTV and destroying 95% of that channel's shows only to retain one [X-Play] and mutate another [Screensavers transformed into Attack of the Show]). But right out of the gate they shot an arrow into their own knee and...yeah, not surprised by what's going on. Just another reboot that failed.

The whole frosk rant is one thing, but what made them lose even more face, was that after her entire rant about feminism and women being objectified, with the cast and crew agreeing and cheering her on. After a few videos they basically go back and objectify women, making them fight on lube or yogurt or whatever the heck was in the pool. It screamed hypocrisy, insincerity, and a general lack of principle.

It’s actually funny how much I relate to this. When I was younger I clearly didn’t focus enough on the objectification of the hosts because all I remember as an adult is the video game talk.
I didn’t like being blanket lectured to by a privileged white woman who couldn’t muster up the willpower to ban mean livestream comments and move on. She fucked up the whole feeling of the show for a lot of people like me who didn’t even care if there’d be anymore objectifiable women or whatever else.
At first I was a bit irritated that Frosk ruined everything. A G4 comeback was..mildly exciting. But then seeing how they doubled down on her beliefs and backed her up, they exposed themselves as being infected by the woke mind virus.
