I got to see Biz and Kane perform "Rhyming With Biz" live, one of the best experiences ever! RIP Biz!🙏🏽
Dam that is a classic moment in Hip Hop and you witnessed that. Wow.
Man that’s dope asf
I definitely seen them perform that myself as well!
What year was it?
I saw Biz at Bb Kings in nyc one time
BDK dropped so many gems, jewels, science, logic, knowledge and history in one session. hell of an interview!
Respectfully, BDK been droppin it like that since he's been in the game...🤔 Shit, probably BEEFORE THAT cause I / we didn't know him before he took off like a 🚀😎
FACTS✅✅✅
I’m 27, had the opportunity to watch Kane and slick Rick both perform about 10 years back during Rock the Bells tour, the energy this man brought to the stage is something I’ll never forget 🔥 respect to the architects
Kane was my 1st GOAT
Slap ur parents you missed out on a helluva era.
No Rock The Bells 10 years ago
@@fab5frk rock the bells festival 2012 and 2013, held in the bay, Orange County and somewhere out east like NJ. This RTB before LL sued and took the name back.
If you thought that was something, shoulda saw him in his prime! 💯🔥🔥
Kane made one of the most positive and informative impressions on me as a youth. Much respect always.
I have a lot of respect for him. He stands out wherever he goes...so relaxed so grounded.
Big Daddy Kane is above 50 years old moving and grooving like he's still in his 20s. Age is nothing but a number when it comes to accomplishing your goals. Health is wealth! Salute to one of the greatest rappers of all-time. 👏🏻🍾👏🏻🍾

So true!!! Rakim is another example of a legend that time stood still as he ages.
@@kendrap-LvnHppnss6371 Yes indeed!
Stop the cap these niccas ancient .
This was a complete MASTER CLASS on the history of Hip Hop!!! Wow!!!!!!
exactly and there was no damn Puerto Rican help create no hip-hop
@@404moneyboyzent Come again, I didn't hear ya, say Whaatt?
@@404moneyboyzentI'm from the Bronx...that's not an accurate statement.
@@darklight7452It is very accurate, Hip Hop is a Black American art form also R & B.
@@MikeJones-pf4wd just off demographics alone in the Bronx it'd be hard to say that was an accurate statement, and even grandmaster caz and melle Mel, said they were there and even if you want to fact check go watch Wildstyle one of the most authentic hip hop films in early days you see Puerto Ricans in the rap crews. They were there and adding on to the culture, they were in the crowd right there with black people.
Big Daddy Kane is a VERY well informed man. I’m starting to enjoy watching and listening to the older artists. With older artists comes maturity, experience, wisdom and insight. The legends in all genres of music can teach us a thing or two.
27:04 I love how Big Daddy Kane checked Nore real quick like a big brother on his hip-hop knowledge. "You supposed to know this shit man" with that big fatherly voice 😆That's how it's supposed to go.
Real talk. More should kno better. He isn't a student on that game..
NORE slips often with the knowledge, he's working on it I guess
Love that part!
That's what a real OG do. Youngsters shouldn't treat that as a disrespect!!
Not only is Kane one of the greatest MC’s of all times! He also knows the history of Hip Hop! Salute 🏆🫡
Exactly 💯
Knows the history? Kane is the history tf you expect?
Everybody should TBH.
The history that he broke down within the first thirty minutes was amazing! Another solid episode 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
I'm glad he told Nore
"You should know this shit"
Nore do more research
In this 50th year of Hip-Hop....THIS Drink Champs....is the absolute best! Big Daddy Kane is a Hip-Hop historian and teacher. Pay attention young hip hop fans...you can learn something👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Minute?
Sometimes I forget how important EFN is. He keeps it structured and grounded 👏🏾
Yea he knows more about hip hop than Nore, Nore is a ding bat sometimes, but he did say he thought flunky was a cool thing so much so he was in a group called the Flunkies so there you go🤷🏿♂️ but I fucks wit Nore 😂
Facts. It would be no drink champs without him.
Real talk
@@nogi9231o
totally agree!!
Big Daddy Kane always smooth thanks to Drinks Champs for hosting another fire podcast!!!!....
Big Daddy Kane made the brothers tighten up on their game. Especially trying to get at the ladies he set a standard.
Kane is one of the GOATS 🐐
55:49 I'm both shocked & content that Big Daddy Kane acknowledges the traditional MC's of my generation. Like Unc is really my Dad's age. I'm a 96 baby from Nigeria, but also a student of Hip-Hop, this moment was so wholesome to me!
Seeing EFN and Nore genuinely happy to ask questions makes this show so ICONIC
ppl don't realize just how important Kane is like not only he was the blueprint for punchlines but he also coached Jay and Big, 🐐 status
Facts
You’re wrong about big daddy, Kane coaching Jay-Z it was really jaz O
@@Hendrixtanell13 both of them did tho Jaz got him in the game and Kane was his mentor when he switched his style
Thank you, Brother Kane, for setting the record straight about who started this revolution. This is Black American music born out of our struggle in America.
Everybody know what it is. Like anything else we do, everyone wants to be a part of it but don't give credit.
I got a chance to meet Kane a few years ago we were on the same flight to Raleigh. He was mad cool humble and down to earth.. much respect to the Legend 💯
My first favorite MC, I have so much respect and love for Kane. He is the voice of my childhood. The first rhyme I memorized was "Ain’t no half stepping" and I taught it to my 3yo cousin and we would preform it for my aunt. Thanks Kane for igniting my love for Hip-Hop 💐
Big Daddy Kane in a baby pink fit is what I didn’t know I needed 💗💗💗🤩 🐐
Yaassss especially with the Ace card on the side of the hat. Definitely old school…..luv it❤❤❤
Muve...the color is muve apart of the powder pink family 😏
Heavy D, had a lot to do with biggie’s transitioning to rap over those smooth beats. Heavy D was already rapping over soft rap/rnb beats. That’s why Big was so nice at it… 💯
But mf didn't give heavy d love like biggie because he was lightskin
Yep yep
Nope heavy rapped wat faster over fast paced beats..dancing music.
Kane is an absolute class act. Props to Drink champs
THE MAIN REASON BIG DADDY KANE IS SUCCESSFUL TILL THIS DAY IS BECAUSE HIS MUSIC IS AUTHENTIC AND REAL. HE BUILT A FANBASE ON CONSISTENCY AND WASN'T BEING SWAYED INTO SOUNDING LIKE EVERY ARTIST. I PRAY ONE DAY THAT MY MUSIC CAN TOUCH THE MASSES LIKE KANE AND THAT IT CAN HOPEFULLY BECOME TIMELESS FOR MORE YEARS AND GENERATIONS TO COME SO WITH THAT BEING SAID I'M ALWAYS GONNA BE A BIG FAN OF BIG DADDY KANE I'VE ALWAYS HAD AND I'LL ALWAYS WILL BE.
Same. I agree 100000000%
One of the Greatest ever! Hands down! Gangsta and smooth at the same time! One!
Big ups to N.O.R.E He shows mad love and respect to all of his guests. You can’t help but love this man’s energy!
And let them talk!!! Always interrupting
@@Hendrixtanell13 😂
I saw KANE in 1986 while i was chilling outside of the Latin Quarter....him and Biz ..going in ...and that was on 48th Street..and if they wasn't popping we'd go up to 52nd ...to the Roseland Ballroom and party up there ...Man the best times of my life!
Ain't No Half Steppin 🐐🐐🐐🐐🎙️
My favorite rap song and favorite mc ever!
BDK knows his history! I am loving it! Saw him in a concert with the rest of the greats and I am grateful!
Same here since him twice at the Lady B's basement party and the 25 year juice crew anniversary. Got to see Biz at the anniversary I had front row seats he didn't disappoint RIP to BIZ!
Yesss
He really dropped some serious gems
Knows his history? Kane is the history tf you expect?
I can't imagine how many times Kane has been saluted for his impeccable talent, but you seem like an incredible human being too. Thank you for your contribution. You been on steady rotation in my deck since the late 80s.
I understand why people like him so much. The character demands respect.
Kane is a TRUE LIVING LEGEND!!!!
Love this interview!! KANE is one of the GODS indeed!!!
I saw him in concert recently and it was a dream come true
Same and he still got it, did the spikes and all. 🙌🏾🙌🏾💪🏾💪🏾

The Biz Markie documentary is a masterpiece. I had no idea...
On what streaming service ?
Showtime
I got to see Biz here in the D on concert, the Juice Crew minus Shan. Biz said that he had literally gotten out of the hospital a week before the concert just to come perform for us (the fans) 🙌🏾🙌🏾🖤🖤🕊️🕊️

It was outstanding wasn't it?
This man is the coolest the realist and definitely the most Raw out of them all.
He’s definitely one Smooth Operator. Lol
Don't know about all that , but definitely a Cool Cat.
@@jaybee5832 nah, all that is true.
@@iraford5788 Just an opinion. ✌🏽
Big Daddy Kane spitting a J. Cole lyric made this interview everything hip-hop should represent. That was dope.
Big Daddy Kane... my favorite rapper of all time. He mentions Frick and Frack that live around the corner from me. Blessings King!
Met this man on the road at a rest stop once as a child I been kicking myself in the ass for my ignorance as a child
For me, this is the best episode. Lots of Hip Hop, jazz, blues, and artists history. And the dope part Kane taking us back how his beats were made.
Top 5.
I did a few shows opening up for big daddy Kane back in 87-88 my rap group was called "PDA in Effect" and the name of the record was called Smoothe. Big shout out to Kane one love.
@krakkkakilla mind you I was only 15-16 at that time
Long live the Kane
What a fucking legend! Kane transcends all the division in this country. In my opinion we need more leaders like him in the spotlight. Much love!
I love how Big D Kane tells a story from the past👍
Big Daddy Kane is a true icon in the Hip Hop industry. He's still in control of his legacy, i remember becoming a immediate fan back in the 80s! 😂 🤣
Truly one of the greatest MC's and hip hop entertainers of all time. A legend's legend to be sure.
Honestly one of the best interviews I’ve seen so far, he aint coming with no enlightenment bullshit or trying to sound like a prophet,he is literally telling memorable stories my respects
I love how the O.G gave Cole & lady London their flowers 💯 A real student of the game till this day
I wasn’t around during Kanye’s era but I’m a big enough fan of hip hop that I go back every once in a while and expand my catalog…but one thing I gotta say is even though I wasn’t around, him just being introduced to me as the OG is still so dope cause he really defines the term like NORE said. His level of respect, manners, the style…. Be glad we got Kane as one of the GODS of hip hop or an oversee-er if I may..
We know What's Up I'm 58 leaving a Legacy and Big Daddy KANE said we Must Educate the Youth💯🎤 Definitely one of Many GOATNESS 🐐 GOATS
Man i'm a syudent of the History, and this was a fantasic dive into why this music and culture is what it is. THANK YOU for bringing BDK back on the show!
I'm forever a fan of BDK...he was IT in the 80s!!! My Era was EVERYTHING 💯
RIP BIZ MARKIE 👑🙏🏾🙏🏾
He still looks good ❤ love Daddy Kane.😂❤❤
Big Daddy Kane,
Is a earth shaker. His hits shook the earth. That Raw story got me. That song 🎵 changed my life
One of the realest to ever do it and still respects the ones who came after him with all the changes coz this is a man with a broad mind coz he understands that not everyone can be on the same lane though the road to and is the same.... Long live the Asiatic MC
Glad Drink Champs is going back to giving legends their flowers.

I am enjoying seeing BDK get the love and respect he deserves. Great interview guys. Kane came across very well and dropped so many insights into his creative process. Thanks for sharing.
Kane is one of the greats
The most humble Artist y’all ever on!!! Nuff respect due
This is a really great epic episode of drink champs you have a classical legend on this episode spitting mad information and some opinions but valid none-the-less and he's doing it I mean really putting it together. Young folks listen up old folks listen up because he's bringing some things to the table
KANE is hip hop royalty 👑.. Mt. Rushmore.. thanks for having him back!!
I enjoyed the interview and I was really fortunate and felt privileged to attend the Verzuz battle between KRS-One and BDK which was wonderful!
If Drink Champs is taking requests for future podcasts, I would LOVE to see Kurtis Mantronik who had a huge following in the UK. He was definitely ahead of his time and deserves his flowers; thank you.
Great interview! Big Daddy Kane is in my top five!
The 🐐 the legend 🙌
Smooth operator...grew up on this man's music in the late 80's..one of my favourite mc's of that era..still in my top 5 today...warm it up kane!!!✌🏼✌🏼
I think it was Kane's Bday the day this aired. 9-10-1968.

BDK is the Truth… such a gentleman… well seasoned.. that deep voice can still send chills down my spine.. He is my ERA. I saw him so many times in the APOLLO. He came to my block in the bronx with Biz and Slick Rick, it was something that went down in history.

Great interview Kane deserve his flowers I’m 30 and appreciate the way he help pave for hip hop gotta bring him back on the show one day!

Yes I love me some Big Daddy Kane!!!!! BROOKLYN'S FINEST 👑🗽🔥💥💪🏽
I'm glad he touched up on how important Melle Mel was to the culture. A lot of people are looking at him like a nobody but the one's that were around from the beginning know he was a somebody.
Yep and what's crazy is it's our own black people also doing it. Makes no sense.
Most of them are mostly just Eminem Stans who don't really know anything about hip hop or melle Mel in general outside of that recent diss track he put out.
Facts
Mel was the first lyricist. I realize that more and more everyday. Every time I listen to the last verse of the message.. the bar structure in that alone..# wow 💐
Mel did it to himself. No one is going to just kiss his ass as he continues to hate on & attempt to discredit people.
A smoother rapper doesn’t exist! Been listening to Cane since the late 80s…
I'm from Compton CA, but finally one of the G.O.A.T,S on drink champs. Shout out to one of the best rappers ever. Big Daddy Kane.

When Kane said, "The Teacha is not here. It's the Blastmaster! I need some coffee!" That is a SUPER CLASSIC moment! And THAT'S the difference between a typical interview and an artist chopping it up with a fellow artist (disguised as an interview).
