My saying for Kirstie is"When she's not the lead, she's the glue." Her background vocals are frequently what hold the song together and unfortunately sometimes go unrecognized by reactors. Each member's unique set of talents form a piece of a complex jig-saw puzzle that fit together in a special way that would be hard to replicate by someone else. PTX is the group the started and defined modern Acapella. You can see the start of all of this in the TV show competition "The Sing Off" Season 3. React to PTX on this show and other PTX songs and don't worry - your subscriber base will definitely grow.
They are all exceptional, but Kirstin, I believe, gives them that extra dimension. Recommend their cover of Kiss From A Rose.
Kirsten s beautiful female voice gives them that extra versatility and different sound that makes them so special.
Mitch is a natural counter-tenor and can sing even higher. His voice is special for its clarity and his pronunciation is always correct. All of them can sing in different tones and have a huge range to their voices.
There are more dimensions to Pentatonix and their music than any other group.
5 of the best singers/musicians on the planet and GOATs of a capella for sure. This sounds the same live! Listen to this from the Hollywood Bowl concert to prove it 😊. I recommend their recent live Vevo recording of Kiss From a Rose 🤯.

This not the best song that they’ve ever done, but nobody else can touch it. Groups try to cover, PTX covers, but this is one that they won’t even try. Another one is My Favorite Things, a masterpiece. For their best (imo) go to The Prayer, bring a pillow for when your jaw drops.
They are so very amazing. I mean they defy believe at times.

The addition of a female voice would really change the essence of Voiceplay or Home Free, for better or worse.
Thanks for this. It's been a while since I last saw this video. You're right...without any one of the group, there would be no Pentatonix and Kirstie does make a difference in the sound compared to groups like Home Free which are all male. Mitch's unique voice is just as important for their particular sound. Mitch is a natural countertenor, so his vocals are the same as a female soprano...he reaches and sustains those notes without much effort. All of them have massive vocal ranges and they utilize that ability to sing in any of their 4 octave ranges.
There's a few new pieces that were on their latest Christmas album that you should react to:
~ O Holy Night ( official music video for 2023...they have an older version as well, but this new one is a MASSIVE upgrade)

New subscriber, here for PTX. You’re right, they do set the bar (really high) for all other a cappella bands to follow, although several others are doing their own thing really well too. Since you’re new to Pentatonix, please be aware that there has been only one change in their line-up since the beginning. Bass singer Avi Kaplan left for a solo career in 2017 which is when Matt Sallee joined. Mitch and Kirstie (rhymes with “thirsty”) change their looks quite a lot, but it’s always them. Their record label is quick to claim copyright, so if you need to overlay the videos with text or texture to get them to post, that’s fine. And, a gentle correction - it’s just Pentatonix, no “the” needed. You will see that with the opening frame of their videos. Check out two of their recent releases to see them now, the original composition I Rise (lyric video) and their cover of Kiss From a Rose (live VEVO video, please). ........Not in this video Avi (Ah-vee) was the original bass from 2011 to the rnd of 2017. bass/basso profundo, baritone, overtone.
My favorite is mitch all day long! Then KO! But I love them all. And couldn't agree more regarding acapella. Ptx did clear the way for all the others to follow, as there was no audience, it was considered a "niche genre". So ptx created their audience on youtube. To me there's prx at the pinnacle and every other acapella act second. If there were anyone who's the leader of the group, I suppose it would be scott who's the most flexible as hes a baritone who can cover bass when the bass is singing a solo. If there were a "star" however, it would be mitch. He has the ability to cut over everyone and even the other members say he's the best singer with the biggest range. But the "glue" IA KO. Bc his beatboxing and musical genius is the foundation. Kirsty can cut thru bc she's the only girl in acapella and her and mitch play off each other so beautifully. Matt is now getting more play and he's got an amazing range and almost operatic tone. They do own acapella.

Good luck on getting to 2K followers! I subscribed for more Pentatonix, of course. Today was the first time your channel showed up on my page because I listen to a lot of PTX reactions. Nice to see something different, after all the Christmas songs!

I'm looking forward to more Pentatonix aka PTX reactions. I just subbed. Mitch's voice is normally high, so he doesn't have to work as hard as Scott who is a baritone (sunglasses). I totally agree with you re: these songs sound better than the original. I feel that way about the vast majority of covers they have done. Check out some of their original work, too, like "Be My Eyes" which Kirstie wrote and did the lead on. Also, some other good originals are "Sing", "The Lucky Ones", and "Coffee in Bed". Keep the PTX reactions coming! I'm here for it.
Awesome welcome, I like to mix it up to different genres but at least once twice a week I like to hit PTX
I think if you were to remove one member of PTX and not replace them the one that would be the most noticeable is K.O. None of them can do what he does to anywhere near that level, and to not have the beat would be a completely different sound.
While any of the others would obviously be missed, Scott can cover Matt, Mitch and Matt could cover Scott, and Mitch and Kirstie could cover each other.
Interesting didn't look at it that way!

We all have our favorite of the group… for me it’s Mitch , with Scott as a close second and everyone else too. I love them most as a group!!
