4:06 The timing on that pause of amazing 😂. Bro literally said that Mitch can't go any higher but then the moment he unpaused, Mitch just blows his mind and the reaction afterward was hilarious 🤣
Great reaction! They performed this live for the first time at their September 2022 Hollywood Bowl concert. I think it is even better than the studio version. Check out the live stream of the HB concert.
I highly recommend one of their early originals Love Again to have your mind blown by them again. It is 🔥and visually super fun, too. Sing and Coffee in Bed are also bops.
You should take a look at some of Mitch's solo work under the name of Messer. Angels Pray, Gasoline Tears, Machine, and Love Supply are all phenomenal tracks. His cover of Billie Eilish's Your Power is another stunner, it's so haunting and emotional. None of them are acapella, but definitely well worth the journey, and then there's Superfruit... I also recall you're a big fan of Avi and his bass - his solo work is beautiful, you can see and hear the peace he's found walking this new path. Also, my vote for the next Pentatonix is The Prayer!
@@Gwennedd Superfruit is so much fun! My 9yo son loves Guy.exe, I hear it at least five times a day! 🤣 My personal favourite is their Frozen Medley, but my favourite has been known to change on a near daily basis!
I truly believe it is impossible to sit still while watching this. Absolutely banger that keeps you moving. You’re right, without KO’s beatboxing it wouldn’t have the same vibe.

Kirstie, Scott & Mitch grew up together in Arlington, Texas, and began performing together as children in local youth musical theater. They ended up in high school together and performed in the choir. While there, they formed an a cappella group called The Trio which had several performance videos go viral on RUclips, most notably a cover of Lady Gaga's "Telephone". The three of them are best friends and consider themselves to be almost siblings. Scott & Kirstie (who were a class vear ahead of Mitch) both graduated high school in 2010 and went their separate ways to different colleges, Scott at USC. While at USC, Scott joined a USC-based a cappella group called the SoCal VoCals, where he met alumnus Ben Bram, who was now an arranger and vocal coach for the NBC TV show The Sing Off, an a cappella competition show. Ben convinced Scott to get The Trio to audition for the show. The three reunited (Mitch had to skip high school graduation ceremonies to go) in Los Angeles for the audition. They found out that the rules had changed, so they needed at least five members to audition. Ben put them together with Avi (a native of Visalia, California), who he knew from Avi's performing days at Mount San Antonio College in California. They found Kevin (from Kentucky) through one of his RUclips videos that had gone viral featuring him playing the cello and beatboxing at the same time, a talent that Kevin coined as "Cello-Boxing". Kevin arrived in Los Angeles literally the day before the audition! Scott came up with the name "Pentatonix" after the pentatonic scale. They performed a re-arrangement of "The Telephone" for the audition and passed, despite having been together as a five-piece group for less that 24 hours! They won The Sing Off that season (all of the performances are available on RUclips), in which they received a substantial cash prize AND a record contract with Epic Records. They pooled their prize winnings together and all moved to Los Angeles, and all got apartments right next door to each other in the same building. But just a week later, Epic dropped them because the marketing people didn't think an a cappella group could sell records. Instead of giving up, they were determined and began recording their own songs on RUclips, hiring Ben Bram as their producer and arranger. These usually consisted of the five of them but when their cover of a medley of songs by Daft Punk not only went super-viral, but also won them their first Grammy, they were promoted all the way up to RCA Records, Sony's top label. They began writing and producing their own songs in addition to their covers, began putting out a Christmas album just about annually (which has become their best-selling genre), and have had multi-platinum album sales, sold-out world tours, and have won two additional Grammys. Avi began getting burned out with all of the touring and heavy recording schedule, was suffering from anxiety and personal problems, and learned that his mother had been diagnosed with cancer in 2017. He announced he was departing from the group and taking some time away from the music industry. Matt Sallee (from Baltimore) was brought in as the new bass singer in early 2018. When he attended the audition for the group, he had already mastered the Bass part for most if not all their past catalogue. He was successful and has proved that he fits in well with the group. After a year away from music, Avi has now returned as a phenomenal solo artist in the Folk/Americana/Roots genre. Ben Bram has been in charge of their production, including arranging and directing from the beginning. He is often referred to as the sixth member. Scott and Kevin are major players in the arrangements, but every member contributes. Also, all members are songwriters for both Pentatonix and their own solo work. Ed Boyer who mixes everything of theirs (even the HWB Livestream) is the one who pulled Ben Bram into the sing off in the first place. They have been nominated for a 4th Grammy. I love how Pentatonics make us all want to dance. The fact that this is acapella blow my mind every time. When I close my eyes I can see (and smell) the discos and clubs in the late 90s when I started hitting the dance floor. ❤🎉 I feel 20 y.o. again, and damn the 90s had great bangers.😅
Now that you've seen this, please check out this video: Pentatonix 90s Dance Medley Side by Side. Someone with a lot of time on their hands actually took each of the original videos and put them side by side with PTX's version, and it's so fun to watch! I can't imagine how much work that would take, but I'm so glad when they do it. I'm not sure if PTX sings all these songs in the original keys, but if not, they tweak them so they can be sung in tune at the same time. Enjoy!
For another Pentatonix song that will have you chair dancing I highly recommend "O Come All Ye Faithful." I know - it's a Christmas song. Doesn't matter. You'll love it.
Great reaction!!!! They have so many videos you should check out. They are wonderful in concert! . If you are new to their music you are in for a treat!!!
This is an amazing medley by them, I was dancing along with you the whole time. They really do deserve to be one of the top acapella groups because they are so talented. Thanks for the great reaction as always friend❤
In all of their medleys they really pay homage to the original song and that is so fantastic, but they also are excellent at making it their own too. They are truly Masters of vocal music, real God given talent. Didn't you just love Kirstin's bouncy curls. I think it's a great look for her.

I've been wondering if you weren't posting any more Pentatonix videos because they were getting blocked. This and their "evolutions" and other medleys usually don't get blocked, but the rest of their official videos are hard to get through without an appeal. US reactors are able to avoid the block by altering the video (usually by increasing transparency and overlaying a graphic), but the rules seem to change in other countries. There are also an increasing number of good quality live videos from recent tours and concerts, which are mostly posted by fans. Here's their live performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" from their 2022 Hollywood Bowl concert. ruclips.net/video/nMFPsouaum0/видео.html

If you want to know just how spot on this medley is, someone was nice enough to do a side-by-side with the original songs. Its mind blowing. ruclips.net/video/y6WOzZixJpc/видео.html
Strange to break down a video into reaction and review but then stop the reaction every 15 to 30 seconds for a review, too. The reaction was as much review as reaction, the stops were way more frequent than copyright requires.
They sound really good but they miss the bass of Avi Kaplan. The new bass guy cannot hit anywhere the notes that Avi did. Kevin is really good but imagine Adam Rupp doing the beatboxing.

He does kinda look like a Ryan. You might really like their original Love Again. It's their homage to EDM. With vocals only, of course. It's actually one of their earliest works. You will definitely get "Mitch slapped." ruclips.net/video/F80FsZDTgn0/видео.html
So um. Speaking of Everytime we Touch... If you could react to the Electric Callboy cover... Yea that'd be great.
Dude, is that a Fonzie jacket?
If you want to know just how spot on this medley is, someone was nice enough to do a side-by-side with the original songs. Its mind blowing. ruclips.net/video/y6WOzZixJpc/видео.html
❤
If you think this is high…you should react to Dimash!
Mitch can go higher... ruclips.net/video/jt3oAyK_IG8/видео.html... around the 1 minute mark...
