Check out their cover of Gold by Kiiara! Look at the original and then see what they do with it. Just them sitting on couches with microphones making magic.

Kiiara also had to use synthesizers and other sound tricks in order to sing her own song - Mitch does it effortlessly with nothing but a microphone lol

This medley of songs is amazing, and there are no instruments. None. You should check out the making of Evergreen to see them in the studio, but know they do this live as well. They only have one beat-boxer, but all of them sing the "instrument" parts when not singing lead. Check out the live version of any song, or one like "Gold" to see what they are all doing. Have fun!

They record individually mostly. For their first few years, they rehearsed and sang together on a couch in one of their apartments and posted the pieces on youtube. Later, especially as they toured by bus, they had a mobile recording booth that was pulled by the bus. Not sure about the 2016-19 years, but I do know they always worked the arrangements out together, whether on bus or hotel rooms or studio...depending on if they were "home" or touring. They toured pretty much every year for a few months. After Covid struck, they purchased their own recording equipment and set up individual studios in their homes. All the songs done from 2020 to late 2021 were recorded in their homes. The Recording of Evergreen ( a 20 minute sort of documentary video) shows them working in a large studio with individual, but open booths inside the recording area. I think this was the first time they all been recording together.
Watching the video, Recording of Evergreen gives you a really good idea of how they rehearse, make corrections, work out the arrangement off the base arrangement and generally work together.

This was recorded during the end of the lockdown, so everyone in PTX recorded their parts individually. The individual recordings are then mixed and mastered together. That's actually been their "normal" process for most of their albums. So everyone has to be spot-on in their timing, rhythm, and pitch in order to be able to put all the recordings together at the end.
There are a number of Behind The Scenes (BTS) videos of how they make their music videos. They use the final studio recording for the video, and are technically lip-synching the song(s), although they almost always are actually singing the song when they record the music video, since that makes all of their movements (lips, tongues, throats, breaths) match up to how they performed when recording the song in the studio. For this video, since everyone had 2 sets of clothing to wear, I would guess that each of them went through the entire process twice, once with each set of clothing, and then the final video editor would pick out the shots for the video.

This one has no instruments, though they occasionally add an intrument or two. They have certainly proven they don't need to in pretty much every genre of music. Normally they record their parts individually, sometimes even from different locations, particularly during COVID, but they sometimes record together as well. You can see a combination of that in the "Making of Evergreen" video about them putting together an album in just two weeks. Either way, their live performances sound just like the recordings. You really should see them if you can! Good reaction!

Pure fire 🔥! They are so talented. I think they are aliens...because they are definitely not from this world. LOL 😆 🤣 The talent is so amazing 👏. Such a pleasure to watch and hear.
Can You Feel The Love Tonight is a great song to react to. It's one of my favorites for sure. Gold by Kiiara is another one that is awesome. They are on a couch with mics and you can see them all in one frame doing what they do best. It is a great way to see who does what. Very stripped back version. Like a live performance. Check that one out as well.
Yes, all them and no instruments...if there are instruments being used you will see them in the video. Usually it'll be Kevin's cello. But if you don't see an instrument there isn't one.
Great reaction!! Thank you for sharing with us viewers.
Hope you both are doing well.
    Sending you love from Texas!

Love your reaction..... Pretty much everything they do is just the 5 of them making the music. They do use a cello sometimes. They have a couple of Making of videos that you should check out. Their Evergreen, Making Christmas , The Prayer , Can You Fee the Love Tonight are some of them. Probably more. It is really cool to see how they do them! Check out Kevin live during their Christmas Extravaganza concert from their Christmas tour 2022. I saw this live. Absolutely Incredible!!!!!!! I have seen them 3 times in concert. Seeing them again in August. If you get the chance you should try to go.

This video does have auto tune only in Blue Daba Dee and Believe because it was part of both of those original songs but you can find them singing the song live and they don't use the auto tune and it still sounds amazing. The only time they have used instruments is when Kevin, the beatboxer, uses his cello in a few songs and when the were on The Masked Singer but that didn't help because once Scott sang we knew it was PTX.
