Thank you so much! A local mechanical wanted $280 to placed my damaged door panel with a panel from a salvage yard. I bought off eBay for $120, and with your helpful video I replaced it myself. Saving myself $160. Once again, Thank You. 👍🏻
Helpful vid. Thanks. So once the door panel is off, no tools are needed to disconnect the door latch cable, correct? How is the door latch cable removed, just push in a tab and pull?
@@everydayskills Yesterday I replaced the driver's side door card with a brand new replacement card. It's a 2016 Escape - Titanium body trim. I quicky learned that you don't have to disconnect the door latch cable. Simply pop out the panel with the latch carefully from the back and/or the front. Then feed the panel through the hole in the old panel, to remove old panel. Also, use a screwdriver to remove the long LED harness (if equipped) from the old card, then you need a tire for the lower LED/light pipe assembly. Be careful as the light pipes are probably acrylic and are fragile. When you have the new card in place simply screw in the led assembly with the torx screw, clip the harness back into place with the existing clips, then feed the panel thru the hole of the new panel. The only thing that sucked was the silver door pull cover. This gas three mounting clips but they don't hold it on so Ford used some kind of adhesive (epoxy) to hold it on. I only had silicone on hand so I used that. If it pops off, I'll use epoxy next time. So if you are swapping that handle cover, make sure to use epoxy too. Good luck ladies and gentlemen 👍

Can I lower the window before proceeding with the steps to remove door panel? This may make it easier to disconnect the wiring cable clips.
