Can you do a video on tips with a rotary cutter? I have one, but I find it hard to cut curves with it...even straight edges are difficult compared to my shears.
I have a feeling most of my videos are warnings based on past experience. I should just title them "please don't do this [insert stupid thing here] that I did 10 years ago"

Honestly? I have NEVER found a pair of pinking shears that I liked. Since I don't sew bags with exposed seams, I don't bother with the pinking shears. I use tailor's shears to trim down the bulk of seam allowances as a lot of bag patterns use 1/2".

I'm new to bag making but an experienced sewer. Curved blades on snips are very useful but I've found curved blade nail scissors work really well, retain their sharpness and are only a fraction of the price of the sewing ones I've seen in UK. 😁 I can't get on with rotary cutters despite having used scalpels over years for display work in my former job. I'd love some detailed tips on the techniques of holding them, pressure, cutting boards & brands. Better check I've not missed just missed that one!
Great Videos. Just watched the hardware one too. I cannot find one on zippers (mentioned in your hardware video) so maybe you have not done one yet. I sure would like to see one. Thanks!
No preorders yet, but all I've been told is Famore will have them in the Fall. I'll make sure to let people know when it's available! For zipper tape, no, I use an older pair of scissors that I retired to cut zips.
Great info! I have never heard of Famore. My favorite go to scissors are Kai. I do have Ginger snips too. I also have 3 sewing machines in my room, Janome M7, Janome HD9 and Juki DU1181N.

(And one pair that I only use to cut sequined/paillette and fun fur. That stuff is hard on any blade!) My 'day job" is as a pastry chef (not much recently tho!) so I cleaned up at the Wustoff factory sale...

I have a beginner's tutorial on how to make a simple tote where the pattern is made, but it may not be advanced enough as it's really just a rectangle. A video on how I make my patterns would actually be helpful so I'll add it to the list!!!

For the seam ripper, Yep. I do that. You use the ball point end under the seam and cut tf out of your fabric once and you never try again.

Thanks for the great overview. What would you recommend for Pinking Shears? I use them in bag making and mine are really stiff and crappy

Ah yeah! I haven't done a zipper video. My friend LadyCrafts has though!

I have gingher shears, so I have quality shears. I'm having trouble trimming the triangle piece on apholstery bags box seam. Any ideas?
I use Ghinger 5 inch craft scissors for that kind of cutting. Very sturdy.
