My neighbor has a small one and it really is handy. They had a large limb fall and most seemed to be on my side of the fence, but it was easy to clean up with that little saw. We do have big gas ones but I wasn't dealing with them for all the small branches I needed to cut up to not ruin my garden plants that they were on. The neighbors cutup the rest of the big stuff.

Not a big fan of the electrics but it is very stealthy if your needing to be quiet

Good video. I used one two weeks ago in Garland Texas when the storm hit. My daughter was without power for 4 1/2 days. I like it that you are making videos.

My plan is to stop overthinking my videos and to just do it. I was trying to be perfect and suffering from analysis paralysis.

Proper tool for the job. As they say, if the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. The problems occur when we try to use a tool beyond what it was designed to do.

the insulation in your house can be greatly improved between rooms with partition sheets hung over doorways and between large rooms, where u only want half of the room to be cool or warm. even having a sort of tent around your bed would probably do a lot. the more expensive beds youve seen have them. perhaps even having a wood burning stove for just the bedroom during the night would help. and then u just bundle up in the morning when u start doing things around the house. also obviously having ur dogs and cats sleeping in the bedroom w u would increase the heat as well. also painting rooms black that get a lot of sunlight thru the window... being mindful of the placement of tree canopies over the house so that the roof is shaded during the summer but bare during the winter. thats a much longer term thing obviously. perhaps even placing sheet rock panels all over your bedroom would improve the insulation a bit. u could even save up steel cans and fill them with sand and stack them all around the walls, and with enough time, they would serve as makeshift bricks.

I appreciate your thoughts on battery operated things~though Iam happier with our gas stove, and car etc-I've noticed a few things battery thats been really helpful. By chance I bought a tiny battery/rechargable/or 'use standard wall outlet' fan (I know thats not chainsaw equivalent!) while caregiving my hubby during his brain tumor journey. I'd get super warm lifting him, whether dressing or getting him into wheelcbair etc.
If I used a big fan, he'd get chilly-so the tiny one was perfect. Unplug & move it around where I needed.
Had no idea 2 wks after I got it, we would be on evac from Tubbs fire (2017) for 2 wks. Stuck in the car for nights, or friends little granny unit with no AC; & heat triggered hubby to have seizures, oof. So, that little $10 fan was a blessing.
It finally quit on me, but lasted from 2017-2024, and I used it constantly. Downside was if batt went dead, and we'd be conserving gas for the car, and power out if at home-I had to find other ways to reduce temps for hubby.(since its battery was internal, built inside it) Overall though, that little fan got us through tons of stuff😊
Happy chainsawing for kindling👍! Look forward to seeing how you like it etc!

Do you have more than one wood stove? 😊😊

One wood stove. We are in the south where our normal low in January is 30-32 F. Of course, this past winter we hit 5 below zero one day.

We went to electric chainsaws and pole saws here on our place. No more mixing fuel, and much quieter . We have a 36v Makita saw and same for the pole saw. We also purchased a couple hand size saws that are compatible with the Makita batteries. We have several batteries ready to go. It's been a game changer from gas for us. We are not doing this because of climate change. It's just easier, less messy and quieter, no tune ups, etc..

I'm looking forward to giving it a try. Heck, I might even be asking Santa for a full size electric model for Christmas. Haha.
