I have a progressive and incurable neuromuscular disease. The quality of my life is severely compromised at this point. The title of this album and the music as well totally speaks to what my feelings are at this point. I find it very comforting to listen to this music since it validates what I'm going through.. I'm so grateful I came across this album!

Its true that music is a universal language, crossing not only spoken language but also emotion and empathy. The first time I listened to this was on accident while looking for new black metal stuff to listen to. I like a lot of extreme metal but I'm very picky with black metal so I like basically only blackened doom and death bands, alongside Emperor and Mayhem. But this is to astonishing. I had a problem with falling asleep for a couple of days and this helped me calm down so much. The melancholy but also powerful energy and wall of sound constructed here is so much more than sheer music. This is art.
i'm picky with music as well, i like mostly raw and slightly melodic black metal, some atmospheric...and mostly dislike depressive, except for this. this is S tier dsbm

Brilliant, touching, intoxicating, completely exhausting the repertoire, music at the absolute highest level. One does not know whether to weep because of the crystalline beauty or the demonstrated futility of all doing. This music satisfies exactly the pain it creates. One feels in every note that the musicians are aware of their immense possibilities to "create atmosphere". Please come up for quite a lot of concerts to Germany.
None is awesome. It has this Lustre touch that I like so much, but with much more variety. Love how depressive black metal makes my sadness somehow stable.
FUCKKK. I just can't get over how much I love the low-mid emphasis in the mixing. adds so much weight and rawness to the emotions. don't think you only have to mix treble-heavy guitar tones with a 250 hz brick wall low pass to get that raw, traditional feel 🤘🏻

Carlo Michaelstaedter is also very good although his book reads like looking into a schizophrenic person's mind. Checks out considering he shot himself the day he completed.
Just discovered this album (and band) and it's amazing. Perfectly executed, very evocative. Soothing in an unsettling way. A wonderfully bleak musical landscape, it's like a black metal accompaniment to Pallbearer's 'Heartless' (2017)
