Sing About Me is such a complex song it’s almost impossible to break down in one comment. If you listen to “Keisha’s Song” off off section80 it might make the second verse from the perspective of the girl make sense

@@biackopsspokciab6849 Section.80 is Kendrick's most slept on album just because it's one of his earliest. It's definitely in his top 3 for me in my personal opinion.
The first verse of "Sing About Me I'm Dying of Thirst" is from the perspective of Kendrick's homeboy's brother who died. The second verse is from the perspective of Keisha's sister who also died, or faded away like the music does.

In case y’all missed it, right before “Good Kid” the album picked up from right before Kendrick was about to see Sherane where two dudes were hanging outside her house and they jumped Kendrick because they didn’t recognize him from their area. So then Kendrick’s friends pick him back up and give him a bunch of alcohol to numb the pain (Swimming Pools), and then they go back and try to get revenge, which is when Kendrick’s friend’s brother gets shot and killed during the crossfire (Sing About Me, Dying of Thirst).
They really wasnt listening to the album outside of the beats and the vibes tbh
Listening to Kendrick for the past 10 years I can tell he has written for School Boy and Jay Rock on their last few albums . It makes since why he left TDE . He deserves a bigger piece of the pie .

I think Wesley’s Theory is a good shout too, the best album opener of all time imo
